In this Podcast Short, John delves into the topic of plant consciousness and intelligence. John talks about how plants are not just passive organisms, but possess significant cognitive abilities and responsiveness. Drawing inspiration from Stephen Herrod Buhner's works, particularly "The Lost Language of Plants," John discusses how plants demonstrate informed decision-making capabilities and can react to human intentions. John also cites additional scientific findings that assert plants have sophisticated neural networks contained within their root systems, similar to human neural systems, which are capable of learning and memory. Releasing on some of dance music's top labels, with a recent focus on his own Dissident Music imprint, Noel's productions make regular appearances in Beatport's top ten genre charts, and see support from the world's top DJs. Over the years, his work has been heard on labels such as Black Hole, Spinnin', Armada, Perfecto, High Contrast, Lost Language, Coldharbour, Mute, Dissident and dozens more. He has remixed and worked with artists like Erasure, Nadia Ali, John Taylor of Duran Duran, Matt Darey, Soul In The Machine (with Twin Peaks star Chrysta Bell), and Markus Schulz. No matter how proficient we become at lamenting, there will always be times when our circumstances cause us to doubt God's goodness. But when we do, we know we can turn to lament. And there will always be a turning point, because through Christ, God is always for us. Sometimes the crossover to trust doesn't happen until much later. Sometimes the change is that we start to see Him working in ways we didn't before. Sometimes our priorities shift and our goals for our lives start to match His. Sometimes we have to wait. And wait. And wait. But in the waiting, we have something to say to the One who can save us. ________________________________________ Momma Theologians Prayerful Takeaways 1. Meditate on a Psalm of lament. Here are a few to choose from: Psalm 13, Psalm 22, Psalm 51, Psalm 56, 2. Journal through your current pain, modeling it on Mark Vroegop's structure of turn, complain, ask, and trust. 3. Listen to a lament such as The Sing Team's Satisfied in You, Michael Card's How Long, Andrew Peterson's The Silence of God, or, for a more reflective piece, my Lament for 2020. Американский дуэт Rinzen & Enamour отметился на лейбле Last Night On Earth у Саши свежим и очень качественным tribal треком Miracle Of The Sun, который мне понравился после первого же прослушивания и я незамедлительно решил поделиться им с вами. Истинно австралийская коллаборация Jamie Stevens и легендарного Anthony Pappa подарила электронному миру работу под названием Where We've Gone. Вне сомнения Want To Run Away является добротно спродюсированным треком, эдаким клубным хитом и заслуженно получает звание TRACK OF THE MONTH в рамках ноябрьской сессии проекта MAXIMUM. Желаю всем приятного прослушивания и до новой порции МАКСИМУМА! bengreenfieldfitness.com/evolutionaryherbalism2 When I interviewed Gordon Wilson in the show "Are Christians Destroying The Environment? A Biblical Approach to Environmentalism and the “Dominion Mandate.”, I mentioned a book called The Lost Language of Plants by Stephen Buhner, which describes the innate intelligence built into the plant kingdom, and the loss of natural connectivity we rational, scientific humans have developed when it comes to the plant kingdom. Since then, I've continued my interest in the, shall we say, more spiritual, medicinal, and little-known aspects of the plant kingdom, including trees, leaves, roots, herbs, flowers, flower essences, essential oils, plant medicines, and beyond. One book I've discovered along the way is Evolutionary Herbalism: Science, Spirituality, and Medicine from the Heart of Nature by today's podcast guest, Sajah Popham. In Sajah's book, which weaves together herbal and medical traditions from around the world into a singular cohesive model, you're guided from an herbal practitioner's point of view to a comprehensive understanding of the practice and philosophy of healing with herbs. Sajah presents an innovative approach to herbalism that considers the holistic relationship among plants, humans, and the underlying archetypal patterns in nature. Organized into five parts moving from the microcosmic to the universal, Sajah's work explores a unique integration of clinical herbalism, Ayurveda, medical astrology, spagyric alchemy, and medical and esoteric traditions from across the world in a truly holistic system of plant medicine. A balance of the heart and the mind, the science and spirit of people and plants, Evolutionary Herbalism provides a holistic context for how plants can be used for transformational levels of healing for the body, spirit, and soul. For both the student herbalist and experienced practitioner, Popham's original perspectives guide you to a more intimate, synergistic, and intuitive relationship with the plant kingdom, people, and nature as a whole. Sajah Popham's mission is to share knowledge, tools, and medicine that promote the healing power of plants —to not just heal our bodies of disease, but to assist in the evolution of human consciousness back into its natural state. His holistic focus is on finding the universal principles and practices across herbal traditions and using plants in a way that not only brings about physical healing and rejuvenation but psychological and emotional health along with spiritual transformation. Sajah holds a degree in Herbal Sciences from Bastyr University and has studied herbal traditions across the world and with some of North America's top clinical practitioners. He lives in the Pacific Northwest forest with his wife Whitney. Sajah's approach unites traditional models in a way that utilizes the whole plant (chemistry, energetics, and spirit) to heal the whole person (body, spirit, and soul) by getting to the root causes of disease. During our discussion, you'll discover: -How specific plant parts correspond to the four physical elements...07:10 -How each of us have different elemental "types"...14:08 -How we might design our lives based on our elemental types...25:40 -How to "type" a plant and know what elements it would feed and need...34:50 -What Sajah is skeptical about merging technology with understanding plants on a deep level...40:55 -Should we be concerned about eating plants due to their natural defense mechanisms...43:55 -An ideal day of eating for Sajah...48:25 -Some of the painful cuts Sajah had to make in his book...49:50 -And much more!... Bodyful is my 5th podcast to produce, and I’ve never been this excited or proud to share anything I’ve created.Already, just with this first interview and the future guests I have lined up so far, I know this is going to be something really special. When I was recently scouring through Amazon’s catalog of somatic psychotherapy books, I came across a recent release called Whole-Body Sex and was immediately intrigued. Even just reading the book’s description, I knew I had to speak with author (and Colorado-based therapist) Melissa Walker for this podcast. In this lively, deep conversation, Melissa shares with us about the model she created (Somatic Concentric Sex Therapy), the importance of expanding our definition of erotic, and what it looks like to approach embodiment work from an inclusive, liberation-oriented perspective.About Melissa WalkerMelissa is a somatic sex and relationtionship therapist, author, educator, and author of Whole-Body Sex: Somatic Sex Therapy and the Lost Language of the Erotic Body. She offers somatic counseling for individuals, couples, and conscious nonmonogamous relationships, as well as online workshops for those wanting to refine skills of relational and erotic embodiment. Melissa facilitates integrous learning experiences about bodyful eroticism and intimacy as a source of increased vitality, inspiring relationships, and healing of the whole self. Fundamentally, these offerings support allyship with sexuality as a transformative force within us all. Caroline be unavailable this week ~ so we share a pertinent, woofy, rousing show from the ancient archive. Medicine abounds! All of nature wants to heal us! Caroline welcomes botanist Stephen Buhner, whose book The Lost Language of Plants guides our indigenous souls to re-animate an informed intimacy with the world, (and thus to heal sociopathic tyranny – which has gotten us all into this cruel global pickle). He has said that he can walk around someone's house and observe what “weeds” are growing there and diagnose the illnesses of the human inhabitants – because the plants want to heal us. www.stephenharrodbuhner.com (originally aired: November 29, 2007) Support The Visionary Activist Show on Patreon for weekly Chart & Themes ($4/month) and more… *Woof*Woof*Wanna*Play?!?* The post The Visionary Activist Show – Archive: Medicine Abounds! appeared first on KPFA.
