On the 69th episode of The Paul Cardall Podcast, Hope Children's Home Administrative Director Matt Higgins joins Paul to discuss a modern day orphanage. Founded in 1968, Hope Children's Home has rescued nearly 5,000 children between the ages of infant to 18 years of age. They discuss their belief that a personal relationship with Christ, combined with an excellent education and a well-rounded sports program is the key to Hope's success.  ABOUT HOPE CHILDREN'S HOMEFounded in 1968, Hope Children's Home has rescued nearly 5,000 children between the ages of infant to 18 years of age. The type of children we care for are not juvenile delinquents, but rather children that, through no fault of their own, find themselves in a situation of needed rescue. Some children simply come out of a situation where a parent just needs a little help. Whether it's our campus in Tampa, New Mexico, or Honduras, each child is equally important in God's eyes and ours. Each campus is able to care for the children in a beautiful family atmosphere while instilling core Christian values. We believe that a personal relationship with Christ, combined with an excellent education and a well-rounded sports program is the key to Hope's success. Our school program begins in our Nursery and continues through the 12th grade. We are proud to say that over 95% of the students who graduate from Hope Christian School continue to college. Hope Children's Home receives no State or Federal funding but rather is entirely supported by churches, private individuals, businesses, and organizations. The faith that we exercise each and every day for our needs is a faith that is passed on to the children as they see God's hand of provision. The children see first-hand that God will never leave them nor forsake them. For over 50 years, Hope Children's Home has lovingly cared for children in need and tried to make a difference in their very impressionable lives. We feel that God has called us to help rebuild the broken lives of these children and to build the bridge, when possible, between home, parent, and child. The rewards of our labor are the thousands of children across the country who are now productive adults raising their own children in the nurture and admonition of the Lord. OFFICIAL WEBSITE:   https://hopechildrenshome.orgDONATE: https://raisedonors.com/hopechildrenshome/donation-pageFACEBOOK:  https://www.facebook.com/HopeChildrensHomeINSTAGRAM: https://www.instagram.com/hopechildrenshomeTWITTER:  https://twitter.com/hopechildrens ABOUT THE HOST PAUL CARDALLOfficial Website - http://www.paulcardall.comFacebook - http://www.facebook.com/paulcardallmusicYoutube - http://www.youtube.com/cardallInstagram - http://www.instagram.com/paulcardall LISTEN TO PAUL'S MUSICAPPLE MUSIC - https://music.apple.com/us/artist/paul-cardall/4312819SPOTIFY - https://open.spotify.com/artist/7FQRbf8gbKw8KZQZAJWxH2AMAZON - Ask Alexa to play Peaceful Piano by Paul Cardall Paul Cardall is an artist who has given a new meaning to the phrase, a change of heart and how he used this radical change to take his music to an unexpected place.  Despite being born with a potentially life-threatening heart defect Paul Cardall has become a world recognized pianist. Discovering Our Gifts and Value to God

All Heart with Paul Cardall

Play Episode Listen Later Apr 18, 2023 27:13

On the 67th podcast episode, Paul Cardall shares 9 ideas on how we can discover or re-discover our gifts, particularly our non-so-obvious gifts.  Knowing our gifts shapes our life's purpose. From asking others to let you know, looking for gifts in adversity, praying for help to recognize our gifts, and more. Overall, our gifts were give to help others. This helps us experience greater joy in our lives.   Discover your gifts: It seems everybody always says, “If you only knew how great you are.” Well, the truth is, sometimes you just don't know how great you are. When we don't feel like the smartest, the nicest, the best looking, the funniest, or the most talented, our self-assurance seems to disappear. But think about this: if we look out into the vast cosmos and see the constellation of stars with all its mystery our minds are expanded. I drove my daughter into a desert free from man-made lights so we could see the brilliance of each star. As a 10 year old, she recognized and pointed out to me various constellations. As she looked up in wonder I noticed her eyes reflected the light of the stars. Each star, like every type of flower has its purpose. We give red roses as a symbol of romance, yellow for friendship, pink for appreciation, lavender roses for love at first sight. Flowers, like stars, are part of the same family. Each has its purpose. As I think about the vast cosmos, solar systems, all the stars and the variety of roses and every other creation, I'm humbled by what God has organized. God's majesty is everywhere. God's creation surrounds us. And yet, at the heart of creation, and according to the Bible, each of us, particularly you are His greatest creation. So great that He gave us a Savior to redeem us so that who you are, who your neighbor is, who I am, can fulfill our destiny. Each of us was created by God. We are unique and diverse like roses and stars, but what separates us from those incredible creations, is that we are God's children. God made you. God made you unique. As such, the Lord of all things has given us unique gifts and talents to help us fulfill our divine potential. As we discover these gifts, we are reminded of our divine worth as His children, and we are able to draw closer to Him and help others do the same. As I've traveled performing my music or speaking to an audience, many of you come up to me and say, “I have no talent” or “God has given me any special gifts.” And yet, those who tell me this are some of the most faithful, humble, wonderful people I've met. Their devotion to their faith humbles me. And so, for any of you who don't know or believe you have talent and gifts let me give you 9 ideas to help you to discover your gifts, or at the very least help you discover or re-discover your not-so-obvious gifts. Now, grab a pen or pencil, or open your notes on your smart phones, and write these down. I will also put them in the podcast notes. While you're getting your tools to write this down, I want to thank Justina Lichner for this information that I agree will help you. Ok. You got your notes open? Just a reminder, please subscribe to this podcast. If there is someone who needs this message today—email them and share this podcast. Ask others to let you know.Sometimes we don't see in ourselves what others can see in us. Ask a friend, relative, or someone close to you at work or church to write you a note about a gift or talent they see in you.Look for gifts in adversity.During hard times we can choose between letting our best qualities or our worst qualities come out. When times are tough, focus on discovering and using your best qualities and gifts.Pray for the help to recognize your gifts. Our Father in Heaven knows our divine potential. If we have a difficult time seeing that in ourselves, He can help. You can pray for help to recognize your gifts.Don't be afraid to branch out.Do we only develop the gifts that we already know we have because we're too afraid to do something we haven't done before? Now's the time to try something new and discover unknown gifts.Search the word of God.God helps us discover and develop our gifts through clues found in His word—usually through invitations to act. For example, the 4th chapter of James says: “Do not speak evil against one another, brothers and sisters. The one who speaks against a brother or sister or judges his brother or sister, speaks evil against the law and judges the law. But if you judge the law, you are not a doer of the law but a judge” (James 4:11). What gifts could you develop from this invitation? The gift of speaking kind words, the gift to calm others, the gift of restraint, and more. And that's just from one verse!Look outside yourself.Sometimes our best qualities come out when we're not focusing on ourselves but focusing instead on how we can work with and help others. When we do that, we'll see that we have many Christlike gifts.Think about people you look up to.Who are some of your role models? You can make a list of all of the gifts your role models have and, instead of focusing on which gifts you don't have in common, celebrate discovering the ones you do.Reflect on your family. What gifts do you have that your siblings, parents, or grandparents have too? Go further! Research family history, discover stories, and identify even more gifts you share with your family.Pray or Receive a Prayer BlessingYour prayer could ask God about gifts you have and should develop, and that prayer could also point you to the path that will lead to the discovery of other new gifts and talents. Or ask someone to pray over you. Think about what they said. Now, if we know our gifts how can we help others discover their gifts. We can often see things in people they don't see in themselves. For example, my wife has the gift of discipline… She has spent years in the gym taking care of the physical body or temple God has given her that houses her spirit. She takes this so seriously that with exercise, she also focuses on what is taken into her body. We talked years ago about how she doesn't want to vandalize or damage the gift of having a physical body. So with the gift of discipline she chooses foods that will heal and repair the body. She also focuses what she puts on her body. Are their products with toxic chemicals damaging the temple she's been given. And so you see, she has a gift of discipline, a gift for understanding how to take care of the body, and the gift to teach and share with others what she has learned. I'll share with you another example of a gift I had no idea about. I don't believer this gift shows up all the time or can I access this gift without the circumstances being right. The famous scripture were two or three are gathered in my name, so will I be also. One of the men in my small mens group that meets every Tuesday in a roundtable discussion, after reading the word of God, shared some personal struggles. Though he didn't go into detail, I was moved and looked at one of our leaders, who parenthetically has the gift to remember everyone's names, even the new people, well I looked at him and he knew. We needed to pray over this brother. We gathered, laid hands on him, and a few different men led the prayer. I felt impressed to also bless him. I couldn't remember what I said… But this morning, that same leader said, “Last week what you did was a gift. You knew what to say that gave our brother confidence in God so God can work in him.” The gift to listen, the gift of understanding, the gift to know someone needs our prayers, and the gift to be vulnerable enough to communicate what we feel God wants to implore into the heart of the one seeking divine guidance. The gift of fellowshipping, ministering, or simply being a friend without an agenda are the great gifts we can do… Help Others Discover Their GiftsWe see things in others that they may not be able to see in themselves. This week, share those things with a friend or family member. Here are some questions to ask yourself that can help you discover the gifts of others. What is something they've done to help you? What do you like about them? What are they good at?What are they trying to get better at? There is NOBODY like you… YOU are a child of God, never forget it. The Creator of the Vast Cosmos is real. He loves you. He is not only award of you, but cares for you. We can go to him in prayer, and how great is that. Think about it—we can talk to God and share with God our hopes, fears, dreams, things we are grateful for and things we need help overcoming… You know years and years ago, Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone. The ability for someone to communicate their love from thousands of miles away is a miracle. The ability to not only call on a man made device, or a cell phone, and talk to someone we love and to hear them say, “I love you, I miss you, I'm can't wait to be with…” We've been able to get within our control the elements and through technology talk to loved ones across the globe. With technology, and invisible air waves, control over the elements, we can bring into our living room, Presidents, Kings, and all kinds of unimaginable things… If we can do this—I have no doubt the creator, whose children we are, deserves the credit because God has created each of us unique and given to us divine gifts. The gift of knowledge often goes to our head—so let's not forget that without our creator we wouldn't exist. And because of our creator and the various gifts he shares with us, our life has purpose. And that purpose is to love whoever God puts into our lives. And as we love, we are loved also. ABOUT THE HOST PAUL CARDALLOfficial Website - http://www.paulcardall.comFacebook - http://www.facebook.com/paulcardallmusicYoutube - http://www.youtube.com/cardallInstagram - http://www.instagram.com/paulcardallLISTEN TO HIS MUSICAPPLE MUSIC - https://music.apple.com/us/artist/paul-cardall/4312819SPOTIFY - https://open.spotify.com/artist/7FQRbf8gbKw8KZQZAJWxH2AMAZON - Ask Alexa to play Peaceful Piano by Paul Cardall Paul Cardall is an artist who has given a new meaning to the phrase, a change of heart and how he used this radical change to take his music to an unexpected place.  Despite being born with a potentially life-threatening heart defect Paul Cardall has become a world recognized pianist. Grammy winning new age pianist Peter Kater and Paul Cardall, also an award winning pianist, discuss Peter's career and the history new age music. They talk about building successful and prosperous independent music careers in a genre often misunderstood and overlooked by the commercial market. ABOUT PETER KATERWebsite: http://www.peterkater.comFacebookTwitterYoutubeInstagram Listen to Peter KaterSpotifyApple MusicAmazon Music Peter Kater was born of German parents in the Bavarian City of Munich. At the age of seven, not long after moving to New Jersey, his mother insisted that he take classical piano lessons. At the age of 18 Peter left New Jersey with his backpack and his music books and hitch-hiked all around the continental US for over a year. He slept in parks and on beaches and roadsides across the country while stopping to play piano at restaurants and lounges for tips and meals. After logging in over 30,000 miles on the road Peter landed in Boulder, Colorado, finding comfort and inspiration in the Rocky Mountains which reminded him of his childhood upbringing in the Bavarian Alps. Shortly thereafter he started listening to the music of pianist Keith Jarrett; the avant jazz group, Oregon; and the Paul Winter Consort. This opened a whole new musical world and he began improvising 3-4 hours a night at clubs and lounges throughout the Boulder/Denver area sometimes 5 to 6 nights a week. After several years he tired of playing clubs and lounges and quit all his engagements and began renting out small churches and self-promoting small concerts through out Colorado. In 1983 Peter released his first album of solo piano compositions and improvisations entitled SPIRIT. His music was very well received and started charting in the Top 10 of National Contemporary Jazz Airplay charts and within a short couple of years Peter went from playing small churches to performing at 3,000 seat concert halls and at national jazz festivals at the age of 27. In 1985, Actor ROBERT REDFORD asked Peter to play at the then brand new Sundance Institute & Film Festival in Utah. Peter became the featured performer at many of Redford's “green” political fundraisers and events attended by many Hollywood A-list actors, directors and celebrities such as Alan Alda, Sidney Pollock, James Brooks, Dave Grusin, Laura Dern, Mathew Broderick and Ted Turner to name just a very few. In his concerts around Colorado, Peter started to share the stage with some of his favorite artists from his teen years such as DAN FOGELBERG and JOHN DENVER. John Denver asked Peter to coordinate the music for his ground breaking Choices for the Future Symposiums every summer in Aspen, Colorado and also invited him to perform at concerts in Japan and at World Forum events performing for dignitaries and celebrities such as Mikael Gorbachov and Shirley McLain. These collaborations with John Denver went on for almost 10 years until John's untimely death in 1997. Peter's music also caught the attention of New York City's legendary director and Circle Rep Theater co-founder, Marshall Mason and Pulitzer Prize winning playwright, Lanford Wilson. Peter's music became the score to their Tony-Award winning Broadway production of Burn This starring John Malkovich and Joan Allen which ran for over one year. As the newest member of their “A-team” in the following years Peter scored the music for 11 On- & Off-Broadway dramatic plays receiving widespread critical acclaim. As Peter's music spread across the world he scored more music for television and films and worked closely with his favorite environmental and humanitarian organizations such as Greenpeace, the National Wildlife Federation, the Nature Conservancy and ChildReach. In 1989 a close friend gave Peter a cassette called Earth Spirit by Native American flutist, R. CARLOS NAKAI. Peter was completely taken by the beauty and earthiness of the Native flute. Peter tracked down Nakai and asked him to collaborate with him on a recording. In the studio they felt as if they'd been playing together forever and their first album, Natives, was completed effortlessly in just a few hours. When recording with Nakai, Peter felt he was embarking on a little “personal” indulgence, temporarily diverging from his thriving mainstream contemporary jazz career. But to his surprise, while his recordings like Coming Home, Two Hearts, Gateway and Rooftops were charting in the Top 10 of National Jazz charts; the new recordings with R. Carlos Nakai quickly became immensely popular in the alternative market selling 100's of thousands of units each and generated a solid and much more personal fan base. Because of the deep satisfaction Peter felt in co-creating this beautiful music with Nakai, he quickly lost interest in the “jazz” genres and shifted his focus to music of a more intimate “healing” nature. Peter then recognized a need for music in support of the healing arts that could actually aid in deep personal healing and transformation. He recorded albums like Compassion and Essence that provided not only a loving supportive musical landscape but also an invitation to dive deeply and safely into one's essential emotional and spiritual nature. Many more CD's in support of the Healing Arts followed as did more recordings with R. Carlos Nakai, seven of which charted in the Top 20 of Billboard's New Age chart. Peter's love and appreciation for the earth and indigenous cultures inspired him to invite more indigenous musicians to record on various projects with him including Native American vocalists Joanne Shenandoah, Bill Miller and Rita Coolidge; Native American flutists Robert Mirabal, Joseph Firecrow, Mary Youngblood, Douglas Blue Feather, Kevin Locke; and South American flutists Jorge Alfano and Ara Tokatlian. Peter also composed two songs for the immensely popular Sacred Spirit recording which sold over 5 millions copies in Europe alone. Peter's music continued to grow and evolve and found it's way into the 2000 and 2004 World Olympics, the Kentucky Derby, the Wild World of Sports and countless television shows like Good Morning America, Entertainment Tonight, LifeStyles of the Rich & Famous and Bay Watch to name just few. He's scored the music for acclaimed television series like How The West Was Lost; Wild America; Civil War: The Untold Story; Eco-Challenge and Joseph Campbell's Mythos series and films like Sirius, The Legend of Secret Pass and 10 QUESTIONS FOR THE DALAI LAMA. He's given concerts throughout the USA, Europe, Japan and South Korea including performances at the Kennedy Center, Carnegie Hall, JFK Stadium in Washington DC, Red Rocks Amphitheater in Denver and the United Nations in NYC where he received the prestigious United Nations Environment Leadership Award. Possibly one of Peter's strongest attributes is his love for collaboration with other artists such as Singer/songwriter Kenny Loggins; Tibetan flutist, Nawang Khechog; Sting guitarist Dominic Miller; Sacred Chantress Snatam Kaur and of course his legendary collaboration with Native American flutist, R. Carlos Nakai. He's also enjoyed performing and recording with many other talented musicians such as virtuoso reedman Paul McCandless; Maverick Cellist David Darling; Peter Gabriel's legendary Bassist, Tony Levin; and renowned Brazilian cellist Jaques Morelenbaum. Peter has often been called prolific and is said to have the “gift of melody”. His love and enthusiasm for the creative process, self-exploration, the healing arts and the natural world continues to inspire a well-spring of composing and recording. In a thriving career spanning over 3 decades and going strong, Peter Kater has recorded over 60 albums resulting in the sales of millions of units; has scored the music for well over 100 television and film productions including 11 On- and Off-Broadway dramatic plays; ands the recipient of dozens of awards and honors including 14 Grammy® nominations and a Grammy Award win for his 2017 Dancing On Water recording and his 2019 Wings recording. But most importantly his music has uplifted, soothed, healed and inspired the lives of millions of people all around the world.  ABOUT THE HOST PAUL CARDALLhttp://www.paulcardall.comhttp://www.facebook.com/paulcardallmusichttp://www.youtube.com/cardallhttp://www.instagram.com/paulcardall LISTEN TO HIS MUSICAPPLE MUSIC - https://music.apple.com/us/artist/paul-cardall/4312819SPOTIFY - https://open.spotify.com/artist/7FQRbf8gbKw8KZQZAJWxH2AMAZON - Ask Alexa to play Peaceful Piano by Paul Cardall Paul Cardall is an artist who has given a new meaning to the phrase, a change of heart and how he used this radical change to take his music to an unexpected place.  Despite being born with a potentially life-threatening heart defect Paul Cardall has become a world recognized pianist. Like other band members, Benjamin has released a solo record about his personal struggles and how he's wrestled with God.  They discuss the general challenge of faith and the complexity of pursing a relationship with God. The ups and downs of belief, which is a discussion millions of people of faith resonate with. Benjamin and Paul talk discuss some of the songs on his solo album and how Benjamin unpacks his thoughts and how songwriting has been a form of therapy to process faith and renew Benjamin's commitment to God because, as one lyric says, "The blessings follow." They talk about the guilt some Christian artists feel about selling merchandise and Benjamin's song that responds to that feeling with, "The Jesus I Know." Paul, who was born with congenital heart disease or CHD, discovers Benjamin's son also has CHD along with another of his band member's child.  ABOUT BENJAMIN HASTINGSBenjamin William Hastings (born 15 November 1991) is a Northern Irish musician, songwriter and is currently a worship leader in the Sydney-based band, Hillsong United, a worship band of Hillsong Church.Hastings has been an active part of the worship team since 2013 when he helped write Hillsong Worship's 2013 Easter Song, Victory. After being hurt and disaffected by her church experience, with thoughts of suicide, how did former Christian Worship Leader Megan Brown, rediscover her value to God and redefine her purpose? All Heart with Paul Cardall speaks to the 24 year old independent singer/songwriter from Hendersonville, Tennessee about her church experience and the music she's recorded that's giving voice to people like Megan who've been hurt. They talk about the challenge some Christians have of not understanding how to separate a healthy and productive relationship with God from a relationship with a Church of imperfect humans whose intentions are not always pure. Megan offers advice for pastors in hopes that the thousands of fans resonating with her songs will be heard and understood in their pain. Listening and understanding the hearts of parishioners over preaching is the most important action Megan believes a Church can do to prevent guilt, shame, anxiety, depression, and suicide.Megan Brown's thought-provoking songs like “If I'm Honest” and “Open Up Your Mind” authentically tackle self-doubt, anxiety, depression and suicide among Christians. Her experiences and gift of music is shaping her purpose, which is to explore songs filled with authenticity and honesty, acknowledging our insecurities, doubt, pain, struggles and scars while endlessly pursuing a relationship with a God who knows our hearts, a God who bleeds, a God who weeps, the God whose own suffering and scars remind us that we are not alone... Psychiatrist and a Pioneer in near-death studies, Elisabeth Kubler-Ross, wrote, “The ultimate lesson all of us have to learn is unconditional love, which includes not only others, but ourselves as well.”Megan says, “I make music for people who have been hurt by people in church and have almost left the faith because of it.”Discover Megan on Social MediaTikTok InstagramFacebook YoutubeSpotify Paul Cardall is an artist who has given a new meaning to the phrase, a change of heart and how he used this radical change to take his music to an unexpected place.  Despite being born with a potentially life-threatening heart defect Paul Cardall has become a world recognized pianist. Wylie Stateman, a legendary sound designer and post-production media entrepreneur, delivered the Keynote Address at the sixth annual Mix Presents Sound for Film & Television, held Saturday, September 28, at Sony Pictures Studios in Culver City, Calif. Wylie has supervised more than 150 sound projects, and his work has been recognized in the industry with over 40 nominations spanning every decade of his 40-year career. His industry recognitions include 8 Oscar nominations, 6 BAFTA nominations, 2 Emmy nominations, and 30-plus MPSE Golden Reel nominations. In 1994 he received, with Lon Bender and Kim Waugh, an Academy Scientific and Technical Award for an innovation that contributed to the advancement of digital audio post-production workflows. Wylie has worked extensively with every major studio in Hollywood, along with some of the most prolific writer/directors in the motion picture and television industries. His creative sound work has included multiple collaborations with Oliver Stone, John Hughes, Quentin Tarantino, Wolfgang Petersen, Cameron Crowe, Scott Frank and Rob Marshall, among others. Just a few of the many films Wylie has worked on include: Tron, Footloose, Ferris Bueller’s Day Off, Stand By Me, Born on the Fourth of July, The Doors, Jerry Maguire, JFK, Natural Born Killers, Kill Bill Vols. 1 and 2, Shrek, Inglourious Basterds, Snowden, Deepwater Horizon and this year’s Once Upon a Time in Hollywood. Wylie was a co-founder of the post production sound services company Soundelux, where he served in a senior executive management capacity involved in overall operations. He also served as Chairman for the Soundelux Entertainment Group, a holding company that oversaw 11 entities, including The Hollywood Edge (sound effects libraries), Modern Music (music editorial for feature films and television), DMG (computer game design), and Mind’s Eye/Jabberwocky (books on tape), as well as Soundelux Systems and Showorks (both focused on location-based entertainment and show control). A few years ago, Wylie established 247SND, centered around a Dolby Atmos design studio, in Topanga. His most recent work, Once Upon a Time In Hollywood, is Wylie’s seventh collaboration with Quentin Tarantino. During this project, he and his team applied a rapid prototyping process, an approach that they have been refining over the past five years. By continually incorporating new and refined sound design, dialog and music elements directly into the Avid track, Wylie and his crew enable the editor and director to take sound contributions into consideration throughout the editorial assembly process. Always in service to the director’s needs and vision, the process makes it easier to approve sonic elements in progressive stages, rather than forcing all of the decisions into the final weeks of post. Wylie sees the rapid prototyping of sound as part of a bigger transition in sound editorial, where there are no longer predefined boundaries between the crafts. New technologies are turning upside-down the traditional sound editing and final mixing processes in content creation. In addition, artists working with the latest audio technologies around the world are publishing an enormous quantity of high-quality, multichannel recordings, which is changing how designers source materials to create new works. Post-production sound now offers global collaborative possibilities, greater mobility, and many opportunities to improve efficiency. Recently, Wylie has been pursuing new entrepreneurial endeavors toward these ends. It is an exciting time to work in the sound space.

(I still have the badge on lantern to prove it.  I was doing WMC when that badge made you a Club King.  When it had it’s start in Fort Lauderdale.  I have my picture (*eating breakfast at the Nervous Records “Denny’s” party, after coming back from a marathon party at Space, so ya know (w), in Mix Magazine.  I’ve even DJ’ed my fair share of WMC events....and have the flyers to prove it.  (not going to drop the names here.) Fun times. Lots and Lots of Great WMC stories to be told.  Feel free to send me some of yours. I’ll tell you some of Those stories next time we have lunch. But, Musically.  The Thing....that I Love about WMC is.  No matter Where you go....What party you decide to endure. Or, which one you go to, to get you to the Next one.  There will Always be a DJ in charge....that is There because he/she Truly Loves the Music...the Process...the People....and he/she Will be intent on serving up something musical to connect the Creative, the Current, the Classic, and the Unique.  And he/she will Always try to make it so you walk away feeling like you have heard or experienced something that you will have not heard at any other event.  Something that you will want to say to others....”You Should’ve heard this set.”  And, they will Wish It.That’s....what I try to bring to the weekend.  Hey, you Never know who could be listening.  So, I Test a Lot of new music during this time.  I play some Deep Classics to connect with times past.  Some styles that may not always be “Friday night”.  This is that set.  It’s live at the club....they are spoiled.  Fun times. So, As My world spins....I hope our planets collide on a dancefloor near you soon.  Meantime, Stay tuned.  Call your mom....and spread some love all around.Herbiehttp://www.herbiejames.com

News, a Celebrity Interview with Charles Dye and we tweak The Stupid Knob! News: Digidesign Releases Pro Tools 7.3 LinPlug Releases Organ 3 Celemony Releases Melodyne Plugin Celebrity Interview: Charles DyeThis week we sat down for a conversation with Latin Grammy Award-winning engineer, mixer and producer Charles Dye, who began his engineering career in 1992. Since that time he has mixed hits for Ricky Martin, Sammy Hagar, Julio Iglesias, and Jon Bon Jovi, as well as recorded artists such as Aerosmith, Hanson, Jennifer Lopez, Shakira and Gloria Estefan, among many others. Since then, Charles has become a bit of a pioneer in the area of mixing records on Pro Tools, evidenced by his mix of Livin' La Vida Loca, as Dan Daley said in Mix Magazine, "a milestone of technology: the first Number One record to be done completely within a hard disk system. In addition to changing the course of mainstream pop music, 'La Vida' may also turn out to be a pivot point in how records are made." Charles's further commitment to Pro Tools and mixing on it was demonstrated by his two-time Grammy and Latin Grammy nominated engineering and mixing of five additional songs on Ricky Martin's album, including two additional singles Shake Your Bon Bon and Private Emotion. In 2001 he was awarded a Latin Grammy for Best Engineered Album for Thalia's Arrasando, and he worked with Pro Tools on that project as well. As a veteran Pro Tools user he has recorded, mixed and produced almost every record he's worked on in the last several years completely on the system, and though he may use an analog or digital large-format console from time to time, you'll always find his Pro Tools nearby for the sounds and techniques he's become known for. And most importantly, he's a good friend of PSN and all of our loyal listeners. Get Mix It Like A Record For Just $99!
