Hey all! Thanks for tuning in for another ReV!S!T episode. The music is coming from my hard drive that I thought I lost from the late 2000s, and recently found. Woot! Back in the day the predecessor of the current "Sound and Machine" podcast used to be called "Chicago Tranceformation" as I still lived in Chicago, and back then my DJ alias was "Zita Zie". This particular episode is featuring Scottish producer and DJ "Liquid Vision". His real name is Martin Newstead, whom I met back at the Miami Winter Music Conference in 2008. He is so talented and a very cool artist. His music has been supported by such big names as Armin Van Buuren, Paul Van Dyk, Paul Oakenfold, Markus Schulz & many more! Liquid Vision's music is taking up the first hour, then it is my turn to play the second hour in this segment. Cheers! Zita
On the eve of the world DMC finals, it was only right to get this episode out ahead of the weekends international DJ event. An event that has, to most of us, been part of our yearly attending forever and more; Tony Prince, whether you know him or not, is so engrained in the development of international DJ culture, that talking to him about his legacy, and his devotion to international DJ culture, would take days. and still not do his career justice. From being best friends with Paul McCartney, Tom Jones, managing Sasha in the early days, creating the promotional back bone of the Miami Winter Music Conference in its humble beginnings... Taking on big machines such as the British Government, Musicians Union and major record labels all for the pursuit of DJ's becoming bonafide voices and performers. This man is an icon and Street culture original. All hail our leader Tony Prince. Rio Dela Duna is native of Sète in southern France, fascinated by "Disco" music since his childhood, he discovers in the late 90s the "House Music" phenomenon which pushes him behind the desks. He meets many DJ's, especially Brown Sugar and Niko De Luka, with whom he founds the label Suka Records in 2008 and become the label manager. While participating in several annual conferences in Miami (WMC), Amsterdam (ADE) and Ibiza (IMS), he expands his international network and forges strong connections with the main actors of the industry. In 2012, he joins the German group HOUSESESSION, Stuttgart based, with which he creates his own label VAMOS MUSIC. By signing world-renowned artists such as Robbie Rivera, Ron Carroll, Cece Peniston, Federico Scavo, Robin S, Peter Gelderblom and Antoine Clamaran, Vamos is quickly becoming an unavoidable label of the House scene regularly featured by BEATPORT, the main electronic music sales website. He takes care of some promising artists like the French Juanito and Axel Fowley, the Colombian Andy Rojas, the Norwegian Charlie Roennez or again the Mexican Jeremy bass, whom he makes evolves through the label. Rio Dela Duna partly promotes his tracks by producing his own show the "Vamos Radio Show" which is now broadcasted on several FM waves around the world. One year later, in 2013, he creates the label "little brother" of Vamos, CHECK IN RECORDINGS, with the idea of developing new comer artists in a more underground spirit. In March 2014, during the Miami Winter Music Conference, BOB SINCLAR releases one of Rio Dela Duna's flagship tracks "EN LA MAR" on his prestigious label YELLOW PRODUCTIONS / AFRICANISM. We also can find him with his latin and disco influences on other highlighted labels such as Urbana Recordings (David Penn / SP), Copyright Recordings (Copyright / UK), Cube Recordings (The Cube Guys), Pornostar Records (Crazibiza / HU), Stealth Records (Roger Sanchez / US), Pacha Recordings (Pacha / SP), Subliminal Records (Erick Morillo / US) and many more! Strong in his productions and his "Vamos" imprint, Rio Dela Duna receives the support of the greatest artists, including the famous New Yorker DJ Roger Sanchez, who invites him several times to the highly coveted "guest mix" in his legendary radio show "RELEASE YOURSELF". In his turn, the iconic French DJ Antoine Clamaran gets closer to him to reveal his project "Agua Sin Gas" for which Rio Dela Duna and his network are indispensable. Renowned for his bewitching DJ sets traveling from deep house to house and tech house with a touch of tribal, Rio Dela Duna is regularly on the line up of the concept "La Divina" in London. He also becomes a member of the "IBIZA WORLD CLUB TOUR" family and represents the Spanish brand "BACCANALI IBIZA" with which he plays at Bora Bora beach on the famous island of IBIZA. Apart from traveling through Europe for gigs, Rio Dela Duna is also a production machine. His very first album of 15 exclusive tracks "Live 4 2 Day" comes out in late 2014 on the label Housesession Records. Then in early 2016 during the WMC conference in Miami, he releases his new one "All About Us" on Vamos Music. At the beginning of 2017, two of his latest tracks are in the top 100 Beatport, especially the collaboration with DJ Kone & Marc Palacios "Yo Me Voy" remixed by The Cube Guys on their label Cube Recordings which is flirting with the top 10 by ranking 13#...

Nelson’s Commitment to music comes from early in his childhood years , when he began playing guitar and percussion while involved with various rock , punk, funk, and jazz bands. Much of his deep knowledge of music comes from years of working at local record stores Such as Spec’s , Uncle Sams Music Cafe , and Virgin Megastore. It has all carried over to the present , as he is now working on his own exclusive DJ-tracks and using Traktor Scratch with over 4,000 records on file . All this while being the creator and event coordinator for the highly successful Miami Meets Detroit WMC BBQ , held annually during the Miami Winter Music Conference (1999-2005), showcasing artists such as Juan Atkins, Kevin Saunderson, Stryke, Phoenecia (aka Soul Oddity) , Sean Deason , Terrence Parker, DJ Minx, Alton Miller, The Beatdown Sounds Crew, DJ T-1000 , Matthew Dear, DJ Rolando “The Aztec Mystic”, Murk (Oscar G & Ralph Falcon), and Magda. “Pornograph Events”, Nelson’s vision for Miami’s local scene went a step further, by showcasing artists such as: Derrick May, Stacey Pullen, Bryan Zentz, DJ Rolando, Kevin Saunderson and Lee Burridge outside of the “WMC” week. In a Market driven by TOP 40, Hip Hop, and Mash Ups, Pornograph Events, was one of THE FIRST and ONLY outlets for UNDERGROUND DANCE MUSIC in South Florida! Showcasing DJs & LIVE PA’s (A FIRST FOR A PROMOTER TO BOOK “Techno” LIVE PA’s IN A “MAINSTREAM Venue – DREAM NIGHTCLUB” outside of the WMC week-For A WEEKLY PARTY), such as: MARC ANTONA (LIVE), SHONKY, JONAS BERING (LIVE), MAZI, STEWART WALKER (LIVE), TOUANE (LIVE), KEVIN SAUNDERSON and JOHN ACQUAVIVA. Nelson’s latest partnership brings him together with a bright young prducer from Los Angeles, CA. Los Angeles based Luis Rosario and Miami based Nelson Fernandez (DJ Nova), have come together to form Ds and Cs. A derivative from their heritage, Dominicans and Cubans. Both shared similar influences as Detroit Techno bridged the gap between their coasts. Both share over a decade of DJ experience crossing dance venues coast to coast. As solo production artists, they continue to push their growing sound, Ds and Cs music production however, is a mix of old school and nu school creating a unique but modern day sound. With obvious ties to Detroit, their sound digs into those influences and creates a new feel. Keep your eye on this young DJ/Producer as he propells Miami to the cutting edge of electronic music!!

Psycatron live from Distillery Leipzig (GER) 2011 is set to be a big year for Irish techno duo Psycatron aka Paul Hamill & Dave Lievense as they take their project to the next level. 2009 Started off with a string of high profile productions being released on some of the world's most respected labels, they received props from some of the biggest names in the business and record sales flying high in the Beatport charts. 2009 began with the Location Unknown EP on Fergie's Rekluse imprint. The lead track 'Takefive' was a huge smash at the Miami Winter Music Conference with everyone from DJ Hell to Sasha (who was closing his sets it with) making it one of the biggest records of the conference. From Belfast to Detroit followed, with the master Carl Craig signing 'Deeper Shades Of Black' for Planet E Communications making them the first Irish artist to appear on the Detroit imprint. 'Deeper Shades' spent 6 weeks in the Beatport Top 20 peaking at Number 5 with only Cirez D, Adam Beyer, Joris Voorn and Sebastian Leger standing in the way of pole position. Then from Detroit to Sao Paolo in Brazil, where Christian Smith's Tronic Music delivered the devastating 'Directions' and 'Tipping Point' with charts and plays coming in from everyone from Dubfire to Digweed. 'Directions' remixes followed soon after from Matt Nordstrom and Fergie well as featuring on Christian Smith's Platforms compilation for Renaissance. A bit closer to home and an appearance on London based Simple Records demonstrated a deeper, subtle edge at the opposite end of the spectrum from their previous big-room releases but still retaining the signature melodic touches with the 'Orchestral Manouvres In The Park' EP showing up on Will Saul's highly respected imprint. As if to prove that getting signed to Planet E was no flash in the pan, they then went on to sign a deal with legendary Belgian imprint R&S Records home to the likes of Aphex Twin, Joey Beltram and Derrick May who released 'Is What it Is' in November, before rounding the year off with a specially commissioned Transitions mix for John Digweed's radio show. “I think Planet E are one of the most revered labels in the world and it never ceases to amaze us when we meet other well established producers who tell us how much they'd love to release a record on the label and how jealous they are of us! We went from a position where nobody knew about us to releasing on Planet E and all of a sudden lots of doors begin to open and people start taking notice.”PH As the list of Psycatron supporters continues to grow, it starts to read like a who's who of quality underground electronica with everyone from Ewan Pearson to Joris Voorn, DJ Hell, Dave Clarke, Paul Woolford and even Martin L Gore from Depeche Mode all getting behind Psycatron. “I've been into electronic music since i was a kid, from hearing eighties electro-pop on the radio i became a huge Depeche Mode fan (and still am) and their influence creeps into a lot of our music. I played piano for a few years as a kid, but never followed through on it as what I really wanted to play was synths and DJ.”PH With the theme set to continue well into 2010 with Psycatron tracks appearing on the world-famous Radio 1 Essential Mix two weeks running with Simian Mobile Disco and Christian Smith favouring them in their sets, while remix offers have since come flooding in with labels including Cocoon, Bedrock, International Deejay Gigolo, and Secret Cinema's Gemm Recordings all notched on the bedpost for the year. Having spent the past seven years hosting their residency at the world-famous Shine and the Stiff Kitten in Belfast where they've supported some of the biggest DJ's on the planet, 2011 will be the year where Psycatron's winning combination of killer DJ sets and live shows will see them emerge as one of the most exciting acts of the year as their profile continues to grow on a global scale. “When we play live, it's all our own music which we perform live using a couple of laptops and controllers and some keyboards. We also throw in some loops and samples from people who have influenced us over the years and little surprises along the way.” PH Big festivals and events like Hitting Movement 2010 in Detroit in May with Carl Craig and millions more are becoming the norm now for Psycatron, they have played all the big Irish festivals and recently being asked by Dave Clarke to play his party at Amsterdam Dance Event with himself and Green Velvet and friends. Rex Club in Paris has come calling giving psycatron their undeniable stamp of approval and with shows in Naples and Helsinki its easy to see that psycatron are really turning some heads. “It's only when we go abroad that it becomes apparent through meeting people at our shows how far our music has travelled. It's easy to forget when you are back in Belfast on a tiny little island the impact our releases have had around the world, i guess that's a lot to do with working with truly global labels like Planet E, but it's a lovely feeling having strangers come up to us at gig to talk about our music” PH Exiting collaborations are to continue with Detroit legend Blake Baxter on 'She Is Music' which came out on Planet E in October. Also and a new project with Paul Woolford on tracks Thunder/CLoud 9 for Cocoon which is the start of ongoing project with more tracks in the pipeline! An AV twist for the live show is being developed at the moment so expect to see this hitting the clubs 2011. "Psycatron perform an outstanding live set " Dave Clarke "Their tracks combine relentless energy and groove with bundles of emotionand tension, to make for an all-encompassing sound that is perfect for those big arenas and club rooms. Truly 21st century techno". Data Transmission "These guys are fantastic, definitely a name to look out for" John Digweed "Their hybrid, genre-bending live set sees them splice, filter and mess with anything - from their own productions to underground house and techno classics - with devastating effect" DJ Mag. "I LOVE Psycatron" Laurent Garnier "Psycatron is one of the acts of the year" Agoria "One of the most exciting outfits of their genre" Data Transmission Psycatron on Facebook
