*Trigger warning - Disordered Eating* Hannah is joined by shining star 1rebel fitness trainer Martha. In this episode, Martha opens up about her personal experience with disordered eating and how it affected her life in multiple ways. In 2022 the NHS published that they were treating a record number of young people with eating disorders, so it really is an important topic to discuss and find ways to help wherever possible. Martha explains her journey from musical theatre into the fitness realm. She explains the feelings she had, how she saw herself and how she reached out for help to start her recovery process. Hannah asks Martha a range of questions around how her family and friends reached out to her to discuss her weight loss and for Martha's advice for anyone who has a friend or family member struggling with an eating disorder, and what might be a caring way to approach it. Martha details how therapy helped her work on the feelings of control internally that contributed to her weight loss, and how she worked with professional Renee McGregor to start her recovery process. Martha highlights that it is not a linear journey to recovery and that taking whatever small steps you can, is a good place to start. This episode highlights how eating disorders can be highly complex. It was an open, honest and highly informative discussion. Martha states that she is always happy for anyone to reach out to her if they want someone to talk to. Thank you to Martha for being so open. This week, Hannah is joined by author, podcaster and astrologer, Jordanna Levin. Hannah was super stoked by this chat as she is such a fan of one of Jordanna's books - Make it Happen. Jordanna has built a reputation for taking ‘big' topics and making them relatable, digestible and frankly very entertaining. Hannah asks Jordanna to explain some of the concepts in her book, which is all about manifesting and creating the life you really desire - through the manifestation equation, but by also not ignoring the signs that you are on an unaligned path. She details how we are all ‘energy', and vibrate on a certain frequency, which then attracts similar things or people into our life who carry that same frequency. Basically, you want your frequency to be HIGH. Jordanna then explains some astrological concepts and why we don't all relate to our ‘star sign'; it's because we actually have 3 big signs - our sun sign, rising sign and moon sign, which relate to our qualities, how we express ourselves externally and our internal world of emotions. Hannah explains how learning about the 3 had really blown her mind earlier in the year and how she relates mostly to her rising and moon signs, not her ‘sun/star' sign. Jordanna highlights how self awareness is the key to a happy life. Its an uplifting and joyous chat. This week Hannah is joined by Men's work coach and founder of the online men's community, One Brotherhood, James Oliver. Hannah and James dive into a beautiful discussion around the intricacies of male mental health, and James explains how he got into this work, after his own battle with his mental health. James describes his work as “helping men rediscover who they were before the world got its hands on them” - by going beneath the surface level, and guiding men through what he calls ‘the DEEP work', he helps them tackle the root cause of issues such as shame, low-self-worth, self-sabotage and perfectionism, in order to achieve radical growth, healing and transformation in all areas of their lives. James believes that our external world is a direct reflection of our internal world, starting with our relationship with ourselves; this is one of the foundational principles that informs his work, and allows him to help men all over the world find inner-freedom and become self-led leaders in life, love and business. This episode ties into the theme of ‘Movember', and one that Hannah feels very passionately about - she thinks it is so important for men to feel safe to be themselves, to feel and to heal. Sending love to anyone going through a tough time, or battling with their mental health.
