When you think of nursing you might think of hospitals and clinics but there are so many different opportunities to develop your skills and progress your career here in Australia, and this can even include working in correctional facilities. In Episode 6 our host Kate Creedon is joined by two Alliance nurses working in this unique clinical setting. Billy O'Donoghue is a general nurse originally from Cork in Ireland who moved to Sydney during the pandemic, while Aaron Lynch is a mental health nurse who travelled from Ireland to Australia early last year. Billy and Aaron share their stories of their time working within correctional facilities, as well as their experiences of travelling around Australia and why they would “tell everyone to come over here and do at least 12 months”. We also hear from Annemarie Curtis, Alliance Nursing's NSW Branch Manager who helps explain the skills needed to thrive in this environment, and why there is such a demand for nurses in this area. Concerns about Joe Staley’s knee during Vikings game. In Pro Football Focus’ “Refocused” series, PFF’s analysis team broke down the top performances from Sunday night’s contest. Aaron Lynch played the bulk of his 33 snaps in the second half and earned the highest rating of any player with an 86.6 overall grade. Elvis Dumervil earned PFF’s “game ball” with a grade of 86.1. The 49ers are thankful to know right now after learning that a frightening hit that left linebacker Donavin Newsom unconscious and unmoving did not include any fractures to his spine. Depth charts are never more fluid than before the exhibition season, but teams have to put them out, if for no other reason to let guys know as early as possible that they are about to be cut! Quarterback: Brian Hoyer, Matt Barkley, C.J. Beathard, Nick Mullens. Analysis: Hoyer is entrenched as the starter, but Barkley needs a solid exhibition showing to outlast Beathard, who’s split second-team reps. Left defensive end: Arik Armstead, Elvis Dumervil, Aaron Lynch, Ronald Blair. Analysis: Yes, Lynch is a third-string option, but Armstead is clearly poised as their top “Leo” pass rusher, and Dumervil has the 99-sack credentials. Remember when there was worry as to whether Arik Armstead would be fit for the Leo role? He owns it. These matters and more on this Aug.8 Red & Gold Radio.
