Today on The 415ers, hosts Evan Giddings and Marc react to a busy first day of free agency for the San Francisco 49ers. Former Philadelphia Eagles defensive tackle Javon Hargrave is the newest member of the 49ers defense, per reports, after agreeing to a four-year, $84 million contract on Monday. Hargrave racked up 11 sacks last season. What does this signing do for the 49ers? Are you surprised John Lynch and Kyle Shanahan pulled the trigger on a great free agent like this? Plus, a couple of familiar faces will return for the 2023 season while a couple others will not. Meanwhile, former 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo has agreed to a three-year, $67.5 million contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. What does his deal tell you about how the rest of the league views Garoppolo and, by extension, the 49ers? How will he fare with the Raiders? And how would you sum up the Jimmy Garoppolo era in the Red & Gold? Former Carolina Panther Sam Darnold is the 49ers newest quarterback as he agreed to a one-year contract with San Francisco on Monday, per reports. Is there anything to glean from this move by the 49ers about Trey Lance? Is Darnold coming toSanta Clara with the intention of being a third-string quarterback? Yesterday, it was announced that Jimmy Garoppolo would be joining the Las Vegas Raiders. Garoppolo will be on a three-year, $675. million deal with $34 million guaranteed, ESPN sources reported. This will also reunite Garoppolo with Raiders head coach Josh McDaniels, who was the offensive coordinator while the two were with the Patriots. The New York Jets are now in a discussion with Green Bay Packers wide receiver, Allen Lazard, but no news has been released on their progress with Aaron Rodgers. At this point, are we even certain that Rodgers would like to go play somewhere else?

The playoff picture in both conferences was shaken like a snow-globe in an earthquake on Sunday afternoon as two developments from the late games may very well determine this January's playoff seedings.First, in San Francisco, 49ers quarterback Jimmy Garoppolo left the game with a broken foot that will reportedly sideline him for the rest of the season, significantly dampening the hopes of a major playoff contender. In that game, the 49ers beat the Miami Dolphins, bumping the Buffalo Bills atop the AFC East. Paired with the Cincinnati Bengals beating the Kansas City Chiefs in the afternoon's other marquee matchup, suddenly Buffalo jumped from the fifth to the first overall seed in a matter of hours.Charles Robinson & Frank Schwab react to all thirteen of Sunday's games from around the league including the aforementioned injury to Garoppolo, the Bengals rounding into Super Bowl form yet again, the Minnesota Vikings holding off the New York Jets, Deshaun Watson's return to football in Houston and Lamar Jackson's ill-timed knee injury.0:20 Miami Dolphins 17, San Francisco 49ers 3310:15 Kansas City Chiefs 24, Cincinnati Bengals 2718:40 New York Jets 22, Minnesota Vikings 2925:40 Washington Commanders 20, New York Giants 20 (OT)29:25 Cleveland Browns 27, Houston Texans 1441:45 Indianapolis Colts 19, Dallas Cowboys 5444:35 Tennessee Titans 10, Philadelphia Eagles 3548:40 Denver Broncos 9, Baltimore Ravens 1054:05 Los Angeles Chargers 20, Las Vegas Raiders 2757:50 Green Bay Packers 28, Chicago Bears 1959:40 Pittsburgh Steelers 19, Atlanta Falcons 1661:30 Jacksonville Jaguars 14, Detroit Lions 4064:40 Seattle Seahawks 27, Los Angeles Rams 23Stay up to date with the latest NFL news and coverage from Yahoo Sports on Twitter @YahooSportsNFL.Follow Charles @CharlesRobinsonPlease support Terez Paylor's legacy:• Buy an All-Juice Team hoodie or tee from BreakingT.com/Terez.
