The Slam Podcast - in association with Callaway - is back for another episode! Two of NCG's finest, Matt Coles and Matt Chivers, dive into another busy week of news both on and off the golf course. On the course in Qatar, we saw heartbreak and ecstasy as stars of the DP World Tour battled to keep their playing cards for the next season. On the LPGA Tour, Celine Boutier won AGAIN in Malaysia, but not without going through a nine-hole playoff(!) against Atthaya Thitikul. Meanwhile, Alison Lee broke record after record in Riyadh on the Aramco Team Series with a score that left the NCG Team breathless. Chiefs at the R&A and the Masters denied that separate spots could soon be opened to LIV Golf players - further restricting some of the LIV roster's access to major championships. Is this the correct route for LIV players? Like Bubba Watson said, should the tour aim for major places instead of world ranking points? We also run through the details of the LIV Promotions Event - the Saudi-backed circuit's own Q-school. Invitations are open, but who will play? Will any stars from the PGA Tour and the DP World Tour turn up? You know what to do! Listen to the Slam Podcast HERE!

Big margins and big victories have blessed the professional golf circuits. There is no shortage of news and no shortage of events to entertain. PGA assures and locks down Tiger Woods into the future of the tour. Lee Hodges goes wire to wire, strategically picking apart the 3M Championship. Poston leaves no question marks and goes for broke. I for one recognize and admire! FedEx Playoffs are around the corner, will they deliver the goods? Just one tournament remains as North Carolina hosts the Wyndham Championship. Is there anything better than celebrating at home after winning one of the biggest and most predominant major tournaments. Celine Boutier left no stone unturned, she had no falter. Well we start with the most important thing this week in golf, an update on our quest to have at least one listener in Latvia. Nick is on the case and tells us all about it.Big show. The Evian, a great win for Celine Boutier who made it look easy. Both Nick and Mark very impressed with Celine's performance. Mark was also happy to see Aussie Stephanie Kyriacou continue to do well. Nick not a fan of the course generally, nor is Mark, but they both love the views there. And some controversy in the Evian this week with the slow play penalty for Carlota Ciganda, resulting in a DQ. Nick and Mark discuss, and have a different view on the decision. Long chat about slow play, which drives both of the guys crazy.Nick and Mark chat about rules, they love the idea of banning yardage books on the greens, which has just come in at the USGA Amateur Events, both want to expand this rule to all tournaments. The 3M Open finish on Monday was unbelievable. Lee Hodges won by 7 shots, but what Mark wants to discuss was J.T. Poston's performance on the 72nd hole which was a shocker, and cost him a small fortune. The guys do the maths…and it's a lot of cash! Nick was pleased to see Aaron Baddeley do well at the 3M Open.Nick runs us through how the standings work with respect to qualifying for tournaments this year.Back onto rules, and the ball issue. Both Nick and Mark are disappointed with the US PGA decision on balls in elite competition, and Nick says Rory McIllroy is behind the decision. Long chat, Nick and Mark have very strong opinions on it and discuss it at length.Plenty of feedback and questions from you this week, including a ripper from Brett on handling frustration on the golf course - Nick and Mark give their techniques for handling it.Top 5 from Mark looks at the Top 5 worst dressed golfers of all time, inspired by Viktor Hovland. And the Masterclass this week is from Nick on spot lining, a masterclass requested by Mark.Talk Birdie To Me, new episodes weekly wherever you get your podcasts and don't forget to subscribe and you'll never miss an episode!By the way if you've got a friend who is into golf, we'd love you to share the podcast with them, and if you can rate and review us wherever you get your podcasts that would be great.Follow us on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter and TikTok. Celine Boutier was fantastic at the Evian Championship, becoming the first Frenchwoman to win this major title on home turf. But this didn't come without some slow-play rules controversy involving Carlota Ciganda, and Angel Yin's ball being picked up by a young spectator! NCG's Matt Chivers and Matt Coles take a look back at the action from France, as well as a brutal week in Wales where Alex Cejka won the Senior Open at Royal Porthcawl. Brutal conditions led to some huge scores on Sunday, even by the leaders, as the wind and rain caused havoc on the coast. The team also discusses Lee Hodges' dominant display at the 3M Open on the PGA Tour, and what this now means for the FedEx Cup rankings. As we head into the final week of the regular season, could the likes of Justin Thomas and Shane Lowry miss out on the FedEx Cup Playoffs? The Slam is an NCG podcast in association with Callaway. You know what to do!

It was another semi decent week for the podcast last week with a 100/1 shared place for Craig with Troy Merritt T4th, Adam Hadwin gave shared place at 33/1 while at the first major of the year at Chevron Championship it was 28/1 & 40/1 places for Ryan with Celine Boutier and Hannah Green. It's the best week of the calendar year this week with the return of Magnolia Lane, Chaos of Amen Corner and the fresh smell of the Azaleas it must of course mean it is the return of Augusta National Golf Club for The 2022 Masters event. Jamie & Ryan are joined by Matt Tizzard from @WaggleDuff to go over the first men's major of the year and provide useful insight into who will Master Augusta and who will end up winning the coveted Green Jacket. This Wednesday episode begins with an apology about the missing Monday episode and some ample clean-up from the weekend on Sam Burns, the Dunhill, Celine Boutier, and a Swedish killer. There's also a digression on whether the Town Crier has to make an announcement and declaration about the town fool in NE Florida. Then Andy and Brendan are on to the schedule of the week, which leads to Martin Laird appreciation and a couple unrelated stories about their scant few visits to Las Vegas. They ponder if every Champions Tour event should just be a guy and his friends, like this week's “Furyk and Friends” in Jacksonville. The LPGA event earns event of the week honors but one move that does not earn praise is the big news that the Dinah Shore will be relocating to Texas in the coming years. They discuss this at length in the news segment, which also features a chat on the newly announced Bryson-Brooks Match V at the Wynn in Vegas.
