We're halfway through the Italian Open in Rome, and there's been no shortage of drama in the final clay Masters event in the build up to the French Open in Paris. Joel and Chris are on hand at Tennis Weekly HQ to talk all about the return of the World Number 1 Jannik Sinner from suspension including the player and fan reaction. Carlos Alcaraz is also back, if a little under the radar after missing Madrid, but has got the pair pondering could we be in for another Sinner-Alcaraz ding dong? And if not, when?On the WTA side, It's been another bumpy ride though on the clay for Iga Swiatek who suffered a early loss to Danielle Collins which put the chance of defending her Roland Garros title further into doubt whilst Coco Gauff proved why she could be the biggest threat to Aryna Sabalenka in Paris with a classy win over Emma Raducanu to make the quarterfinals.Outside of Rome, Novak Djokovic grabbed headlines with a wildcard entry into Geneva whilst his PTPA player union scored a legal win over the ATP. Plus, the Billie Jean King Cup Finals draw in Shenzhen is out as Great Britain were handed Japan - but who will be the British Number 1 leading the charge when September rolls around? We also break down what we're looking forward as Week 2 in Rome gets underway and Joel is in the hot seat with nowhere to run in a solo edition of Par for The Courts.Roland-Garros Hospitality with Sports, Travel and Hospitality GroupTo guarantee the best seats in the house with ticket-inclusive official hospitality, visit https://bit.ly/4j6RYBzSOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. It's the first women's major of the year at The Chevron Championship where it will get held in Texas for the 3rd year in a row at Carlton Woods as World Number 1 Nelly Korda looks to defend her title and World Number 2 Jeeno Thitikul is the single priced favourite to capture a first major title. This Jack Nicklaus course is playing about 6,911 yards which by Ladies standards is super long so off the tee and distance will be key and elite iron play will also be a factor.  I was joined by Scott Mader to dissect who we think has what it takes to become the next Chevron champion while going through majority of the names at the top's chances while also giving our plays further down the board in what should be an interesting Chevron! JACK DRAPER! Need we say more. Ok if we must… We're halfway into the Sunshine Swing and it's been a very memorable couple of weeks for two individuals out in the desert of Palm Springs at Indian Wells. Join Joel, Kim and Chris as they get giddy with excitement over how the Brit secured the biggest title of his career to date whilst moving into the Top 10 rankings for the first time, in help thanks to a semifinal win over Carlos Alcaraz. The trio also ponder whether he is a genuine Major contender, could it happen at Wimbledon and is an ATP Tour Finals appearance on the cards. And it was just as blockbuster in the women's event as Mirra Andreeva kept up her hot streak with back-to-back W1000 titles by getting the better of World Number 1 Aryna Sabalenka in the final. The gang discuss just where the seventeen (!) year old sensation could go next and whether a No. 1 ranking is possible this season. They also look at what's going on with Iga Swiatek as she let frustration spill out onto court with a ball bash towards a ball boy that left her without reaching a tour level final for ten months and counting. We also look ahead to the Miami Open with mens and womens draw previews, the usual spicy predictions and discuss Rafael Nadal's sit down chat with Andy Roddick and decide for ourselves just what was Rafa's second best surface. He thinks grass - we're not so sure. Mysterious Player also returns with Joel hoping Kim doesn't get it in such a quick time…Roland-Garros Hospitality with Sports, Travel and Hospitality GroupTo guarantee the best seats in the house with ticket-inclusive official hospitality, visit Roland-Garros 2025 | French Tennis Grand Slam | STH Group SOCIALSFollow us on Twitter, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube, plus email the show tennisweeklypod@gmail.com.MERCHPurchase Tennis Weekly Merch through our Etsy store including limited edition designs by Krippa Design where all proceeds go towards the podcast so we can keep doing what we do!REVIEWS***Please take a moment to rate and review the show on Apple Podcasts, Spotify or wherever you get your pods. The Sunshine Swing is here and whilst it's been relatively plain sailing for the top ranked women on the WTA Tour, it has been anything but for the men out in the desert. Join Joel and Chris for a midway catch-up as they discuss *another* lucky loser loss for Novak Djokovic out in Palm Springs, this time to Botic van de Zandschulp. It was also a tournament to forget for top seed Alexander Zverev whose hopes of becoming World Number 1 took another dent with Jannik Sinner still firmly in the driving seat. There was also a worrying setback for Nick Kyrgios as retirement rumours spread and Carlos Alcaraz got a big buzz from bumblebee fans in the crowd. On the women's side, we wonder if this is two-time champ Iga Swiatek's title to lose and who could potentially stop her with Sabalenka, Gauff and Rybakina all progressing. Madison Keys also returned for her first event back after becoming Australian Open champion and there was Great British success for lucky loser Sonay Kartal who was ready to pack her bags after a qualies defeat… but is now gearing up to face Aryna Sabalenka for a spot in the quarter-finals. The Australian Open Finals are SET. Alexander Zverev will face defending champion and World No.1 Jannik Sinner for a chance to win his first Major. The big news from the semifinals was the retirement of Novak Djokovic after losing the first set against the tall german. He was suffering from the same muscle tear that affected him in his quarterfinal win over Carlos Alcaraz and knew going into the match it was unlikely he would be able to finish it. Despite his best efforts on court the Australian crowd booed off their 10 time champion and 24 time grand slam champion for cutting short their afternoon of tennis which reflected badly on the tournament and the aussie fans. Zverev will face 2 time major champion Jannik Sinner in the Final who defeated Ben Shelton after a spirited first set from the american. Sinner steamrolled the last two sets but was seen limping in the third set. Joel and Chris ask - will he be fit for the final and predict who the champion will be on Sunday. On the women's side there was a HUGE upset and come from behind win for American Madison Keys. Keys a former finalist at slam level previously 8 years ago at the US Open will hope to go one better on Saturday against World No.1 Aryna Sabalenka. Keys caused the biggest upset on the women's side when she saved match point and then recovered from 5-7 down in a super tie break to secure her spot in the final by defeated Iga Swiatek. Swiatek was so close to setting up a 1 vs 2 final but with the loss Sabalenka will remain the World Number 1 no matter the result on Saturday. Sabalenka will be going for the three-peat and the one thing we know for sure is that there will be some big hitting on Rod Laver in the final! Starting out his coaching route Chris would have at an early stage around 7 very good players to help evaluate their swings etc with before gaining a reputation for being a great mind in the coaching analysis side of things.  Examples of Chris' success is last week Ricky Castillo who would go on to win his PGA Tour card for next year from the Korn Ferry Tour, Chris who has worked with Ricky since 12 years old. This week, Vansh and Andre have a chat about their thoughts on the current clay season progress. Notably, Stefanos Tsitsipas and Casper Ruud have reached the Monte Carlo and Barcelona finals back to back, with the Greek winning Monte Carlo and the Norwegian taking the Barcelona crown for his biggest title to date. On the women's side, Elena Rybakina fought hard to win the Stuttgart indoor clay title, with a win over two-time defending champion Iga Swiatek in what was possibly the best match of the week. With Carlos Alcaraz's withdrawals due to injury, Novak Djokovic's current lack of proper form (and a title in 2024,) ths ATP side of things is looking rather intriguing ahead of Madrid, and, most of all, Rome, as it is the closest in conditions to Roland Garros. Who will emerge as the top contender? Can Rafael Nadal find yet another title on the Parisian clay? And though Iga Swiatek lost, it's still the same: Rome will define who is truly in the best form for the French Open - although so far we feel pretty confident in the 3-time Roland Garros champion to win the title. That is, if one of Elena Rybakina, Aryna Sabalenka, and Coco Gauff don't step up to dethrone the World Number 1, or even a rising star in potentially Marta Kostyuk and a finally stable Emma Raducanu. We also have a quick look back into the achievements and career of Garbine Muguruza, who just announced her retirement from professional tennis in a press conference this past week.  What does 2024 have in store? It adds up to the World Number of 8. Would you like to learn more about the ancient art of Numerology? Would you like to learn more about yourself through studying your birth date, and determining your Life Path number? You can improve your relationships with your partner, your colleagues, and even your boss. It's all based on mathematics says today's guest, Glynis McCants, who has been studying Numerology for the past several decades. Her unique method is based on the Pythagoras Number system, which is more than 2,500 years old. Last year, 2023,  was the year of Mother Nature and record-breaking weather. This year, 2024, breaks down to an 8. That number is determined by adding 2 + 0 + 2 + 4.  The number 8 will focus on the year of politics, not just in the USA, but throughout the entire world. Billions of people on the planet will be voting this year. The 8 is like yin/yang or an infinity symbol. You can make positive changes. Be proactive; get out there; have conversations; be civil. Your voice will be heard in this year of 8. Your finances, prosperity, and income can all go upwards this year.  It's also a great time to revisit any projects that have been on hold. Glynis explains the meaning of your Personal Year cycle. You find these numbers by looking at your birthdate. She talks further about Nov 5th, election day in the US, and talks about leaders and what they offer. She describes the numbers of President Joe Biden, Donald Trump, Marianne Williamson, and other politicians. After evaluating approximately 15,000 Numerology Charts, she wrote the book “Glynis Has Your Number,”  which quickly became the best-selling Numerology book in the country and has been translated into fifteen other languages as well. If you'd like to order a Numerology reading report that tells you all about yourself, or a Numerology Chart Comparison report, just visit www.numberslady.com and type "Lisa" in the promo code, and you will get a special discount.
