ParentingAces - The Junior Tennis and College Tennis Podcast
Welcome to Season 14 Episode 6 of the ParentingAces Podcast, a proud member of the Tennis Channel Podcast Network. This week's episode does a deep dive into the new tennis coaching digital platform, Full Court Tennis, with its creator, former top ATP Pro, Brian Teacher. I first met Brian several years ago at the US Open Junior tournament. I've since run into him around SoCal and was excited to get him on the podcast to discuss the latest iteration of Full Court Tennis. I encourage you to watch the video version of this episode for insights as to what the platform is capable of doing for players, parents, and coaches. Here is the press release which describes it best: Virtual tennis coaching has never been easier to use since former Grand Slam champion Brian Teacher launched the improved and updated Full Court Tennis (FCT) website where players can connect with world-renowned coaches for virtual lessons making tennis coaching easily accessible and affordable for everyone. For a limited time, Teacher has announced that players and coaches of any level can sign up completely free with no credit card required. Originally launched as an iOS app two years ago, players and coaches can now sign up and connect directly on FullCourtTennis.com, where advanced features allow coaches to independently set their rates, get hired, or give free virtual lessons. This includes: • Stroke Analysis: Submit videos for in-depth feedback on your technique. • Match Analysis: Get expert insights on strategy and performance. • Live Video Call Lessons: Collaborate directly with coaches in real time to review match footage, improve techniques, or address any aspect of your game. FCT also offers innovative tools like match tagging and the ability to add multiple participants to a lesson space, making the experience collaborative and efficient. “Full Court Tennis revolutionizes the way players and coaches connect, making expert tennis coaching as easy as clicking onto a website or using the app,” said Brian Teacher. “FCT's coaches are experts in stroke development, match strategy, and mental preparation, with many having worked with top-level professional players. Whether you're a beginner or an experienced player, FCT ensures you're learning from the best.” More than 700 coaches from over 100 countries are on the platform, including coach Michael Russell - coach of ATP # 4 Taylor Fritz, Gilles Cervara - coach of ATP #7 Daniil Medvedev and coach Johan Kriek - two-time Australian Open champion. All-time great John McEnroe and former USTA President & CEO Katrina Adams sit on the FCT Advisory Board, lending their expertise and leadership to the platform. Free Life Agents: A Podcast for Real Estate Agents Who Want to Develop a Passive Income Lifestyle
Michael Russell seemingly had it all - a successful family real estate business, every afforded opportunity, a happy and healthy family. Unfortunately, his excessive lifestyle led to divorce, foreclosures, short sales, bankruptcies and shame. It took the better part of a decade to fully turn it all around. Those years in financial ruin felt like they would never end, it didn't just take time to rebuild, it also took a complete change in how he thought and acted. The rebuilding didn't really begin until the 7 year timeframe since discharge from bankruptcy had passed. Filing bankruptcy felt like the only option at the time, but in hindsight and through the benefit of knowledge, there were many other paths that could have remedied his issues. Once that very slow period of becoming financeable began, he looked at relationships with banks from a much wiser position. As a result of filing bankruptcy, the full turn around took about 9 years to take hold and become something of a solid baseline to rebuild from. Since that time, he has redefined his career in real estate sales, investments and consulting; maintained what is close to a perfect credit rating and mended the relational struggles that came as a result of all the financial turmoil. Most rewarding in this process has been the mending of the relationships that became so torn as a result of all the struggle.Coming in a close second is the advising of others who find themselves in similar positions of uncertainty and financial distress – in exchange for nothing but a testimonial and a handshake agreement that should the property owner ever wish to sell, Michael is the person they trust to help them.Through simply paying it forward, Michael's preference is to help people avoid foreclosure, avoid bankruptcy AND remain in their home; this is the trifecta of perfection. With accountability, action and effort this trifecta is possible about 50% of the time. Michael is also the President/Owner of Century 21 Signature Properties, one of the original CENTURY 21 franchises in the country. About 40% of the time, selling the property proves to be the only way to avoid foreclosure, Mike and CENTURY 21 have helped thousands of people do just that. In our podcast, Mike shares how he overcomes his struggles and how to overcome adversity and why those facing foreclosure should be taking every measure necessary to avoid being foreclosed on. What is it like to rebuild after a foreclosure, after a bankruptcy? What is the real cause of foreclosure, bankruptcy and financial distress? While we have talked about these topics before, this week's guest overcame all of it to form a non-profit that helps people who find themselves in this situation. This week, Shawn & George interview Michael Russell, with Hope 4 Harship, and also the President/Owner of Century 21 Signature Properties, one of the original CENTURY 21 franchises in the country. Hear Micheal's story about divorce, foreclosures, short sales, bankruptcies, and how he overcame that financial distress. We talk about how banks really don't want to foreclose, and how they want to offer assistance (which may or may not be home retention). We talk about partial claim mortgages, loan modifications, forbearances and the pros and cons of each. We talk about judicial and non-judicial foreclosures and the differences between them. And yes, we talk a little about bankruptcy. The Imperial Sovereign Court of the State of Montana v. Knudsen, argued before Judges Johnnie B. Rawlinson, Danielle J. Forrest, and Jennifer Sung in the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Ninth Circuit on June 4, 2024. Argued by Michael Russell (on behalf of Knudsen, et al.) and Constance Van Klay (on behalf of the Imperial Sovereign Court of the State of Montana, et al.). Description of the Case, from the Introduction to the Appellees' Answering Brief: It is clear what the Montana legislature meant to target through House Bill 359 (“HB 359”): drag. Legislators set their sights on drag because they believed—wrongly, and without evidence—that gender-nonconforming expression harms children. Obvious on the face of the law, their intent to stifle disfavored speech is proof enough that Plaintiffs likely will succeed on the merits of their First Amendment claim. Far less clear—indeed, impossible to determine—is the law's effect. Through HB 359, the legislature wildly overshot its mark, threatening draconian penalties against individuals, businesses, and organizations engaged in speech far beyond drag performances. As confusing as it is discriminatory, HB 359 is void for vagueness. HB 359 can withstand constitutional review only by both creating a new exception to the First Amendment for drag and ignoring the void for vagueness doctrine. It discriminates on the basis of content and viewpoint, broadly chills protected speech, and opens the door to discriminatory enforcement. Statement of the Issues, from the Appellant's Opening Brief: 1. Whether the district court erred in finding that Plaintiffs have standing to seek injunctive relief against the State Defendants. 2. Whether the district court erred in finding Plaintiffs likely to succeed on the merits of their First/Fourteenth Amendment facial claim; 3. Whether the district court erred in finding Plaintiffs likely to succeed on the merits of their Fifth/Fourteenth Amendment facial claim; 4. Whether the district court erred in finding the remaining Winter factors weigh in favor of issuing a preliminary injunction; and 5. In the alternative, whether the district court erred in failing to properly narrow the scope of its preliminary injunction.

It's a new year, a new PGA Tour season, and a new guest who's trying to play every golf course in Massachusetts. Our first episode is the year is here, hosted as always by Alex Lauzon and Michael Russell. The new PGA Tour season begins with The Sentry, where only one of the top 3 players in the world is contending (1:56). The OWGR released changes to how points will be dolled out, including for the new "signature events" on the PGA Tour, which include no cuts (sound familiar?) (5:45). 2023 was a huge year for the podcast, and 2024 looks to keep growing on that success. What's in store for us? More travel, and more golf, of course (8:15). Alex used the holiday weekend to catch the new movie Anyone But You, and Michael asks how it compares to 2023's No Hard Feelings (14:02). Our first guest of the New Year is Sean Melia, editor of the New England Golf Journal. Sean has a mission to play every golf course in Massachusetts, and shares some of his favorites, and reminisces with Alex about their shared hometown course, Concord Country Club (16:13). The New Year included a lot of fireworks, and Michael really doesn't understand why it's so excessive (47:22). The NFL season is nearing its conclusion, and that means Alex and Michael horrible no good very bad season can end (49:17). In #AlwaysEndWithFood, it's all about the January diets, and how maybe that can springboard to some wholistic life changes, you know, like it does every year (52:32). Support our friends! The PNC Championship with Charlie and Tiger, Christmas music, and more on this week's episode, hosted by Alex Lauzon and Michael Russell. It's the most wonderful time of the year, and Alex and Michael are ready for it (1:52). The PNC Championship included a lot of family duos, but all eyes were on Charlie and Tiger, and how Charlie was much better than Tiger (3:36). The DP World Tour heads to beautiful Mauritius this week, an island off the coast of Africa that is too beautiful to host a golf event (7:04). NBC Sports announced than Kevin Kisner is headed to the broadcast booth this year, and Alex is concerned the censors may have their work cut out for them (8:26). Over on our YouTube channel, you can catch Alex's adventure playing golf, eating BBQ tacos, and playing Vegas-style slots all in one day in Texas (9:38). It's the Holiday season, so Alex asks Michael to name the top 10 Christmas songs on the Billboard Hot 100 (10:34). The Holidays mean family movies, and Michael shares his review of the Charlie and the Chocolate Factory prequel, Wonka (12:54). Alex spent the money and watched the now streaming Era's Tour from Taylor Swift and shares his review (14:24). Past guest Matt Sheerer of WBZ News Radio in Boston had an amazing story this week of a Bostonian singer he found in the streets that will restore your faith in humanity (16:03). This week's guests as the owners of Dripping Springs Country Club, more than just a driving range outside of Austin, TX. You likely know Stephen and Doug Bradford from their appearance on "Wheel of Fortune," and their share stories from their time on the show, plus why Dripping Springs is so special (17:54). Christmas means basketball, and there are a bunch of great games on to catch (40:08). Christmas also means it's Bowl Season, which is now in full swing, and started with a horrible game for Michael's nearby Georgia Southern Eagles (40:58). In the NFL, it was another losing weekend for Alex's Patriots and Michael's Giants, who have come back down to earth after a string of victories (41:54). As we #AlwaysEndWithFood, it's all about what's on the menu for Christmas Eve and Christmas night (44:26). Support our friends! A golf signing that changes everything (for real this time), a massive new contract in baseball, and former UT Longhorn and NFL player Cedric Griffin, all on this week's new episode hosted by Alex Lauzon and Michael Russell. The golf work was shook this week as Jon Rahm took a truck load of money and bolted to LIV, even as the PGA TOUR, LIV/PIF merger talks continue. Alex and Michael wonder what it all means for the game we love to watch (2:09). The Grant Thorton Shootout finally gave us a taste of what we've been clamoring for, a PGA/LPGA mixed event, as the Aussie's took the win (11:35). Over on our YouTube channel, Alex and his buddy Anthony have a finish for the ages at TPC Sawgrass (...on a simulator), and this weekend Alex debuts a new series called "Texas Towns," showcasing some of the smaller towns in Texas that still have great golf and great food (14:17). This weekend features the Q-School finals, where players vie for life-changing status on the Korn Ferry and PGA TOUR (15:19). Tiger's back again, alongside son Charlie, for this year's PNC Shootout (16:33). This week's guest is Cedric Griffin, a former National Champion as a Texas Longhorn, and former defensive back in the NFL. Cedric chats with Alex about his favorite football memories, his life coaching track, and his BBQ joint The Smoke Cantina (18:17). The NBA wrapped up their inaugural NBA Cup, the new in season tournament that crowned the Lakers champs. Do we care? (55:43). It's December and that means it's Bowl Season! All 42 of them, including the CFB Playoffs (57:15) It was a rare week in the NFL for Alex, as he got to see his Patriots put points on the board and record their third win of the season (1:00:09). Major League Baseball saw a gargantuan contract get signed as multi-position superstar Ohtani leaped to the Dodgers (1:01:06). A roof collapse, LIV mega-deal rumor, and rivalry week in college football, along with a returning guest from the Boston radio-waves on this week's podcast, hosted by Alex Lauzon and Michael Russell. Thanksgiving was the headline for everyone last week, and Alex and Michael share their Thanksgiving day MVP (2:14). A powerful Florida storm tore down the roof of the new TGL stadium, delaying the new league for a year (5:55). Jon Rahm's name is now connected to LIV, who are supposedly offering a gigantic contract to the major champion (7:28). The PGA Champions Tour is getting its own Ryder Cup style tournament, the World Champions Cup, headed to Florida is just a couple weeks with three teams (10:34). Tiger is back (again) at the Hero World Challenge, and Michael asks is Tiger will finish Top-5, or if defending champ Viktor Hovland will repeat (13:49). Gianna Gravalese returns to the podcast to chat about hew now syndicated and national show, The VBros, from iHeartRadio's KISS 108FM in Boston. Gianna shares all the good going on in her life now, her crush on Joe Jonas, on her love of Boston's Jingle Ball (16:13). College football's rivalry week produced some crazy moments, but the results for Alex's picks were not good (57:14). In the NFL, Michael's Giants have now won two straight after "beating" Alex's Patriots, who, contrary to popular belief, have not hit rock bottom yet (58:37). As the guys #AlwaysEndWithFood, Alex is ready for all the Christmas flavors that are here as we roll into December, and Michael shares his journey on a Savannah Food Tour (1:01:18).
An emotional return in Bermuda, an African Safari, the LPGA's rising star Gabi Ruffels, and NYC rapper, screenwriter, actor, and artist Nik Moody on this week's podcast. It's officially the holiday season, and host Alex Lauzon is ready for it, as is cohost Michael Russell, begrudgingly (2:10). At the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, Adam Long ended his fairways hit streak at a childish number, and Camilo Villegas returns to the winners circle after an emotional few years (3:36). The LPGA had its inaugural Anika Driven event, hosted by the legend Anika herself. With some virtual credentials, Alex was able to chat with up-and-coming LPGA pro Gabi Ruffels, who had an impressive week in Florida (7:18). Past Masters Champion Angel Cabrera is out of prison, and is eyeing a return to golf and even the PGA TOUR, which seems surprising (18:10). The DP World Tour was in South Africa, and after enjoying the African safari, Max Homa played his way to his first international victory (21:15). Over on our YouTube channel you can see some behind the scenes from the Desire Cup, held at the beautiful TPC Sawgrass, as well as a very important mini-golf challenge between Alex and Michael (23:27). The PGA TOUR ends its 2023 calendar with the RSM Classic at Sea Island, featuring a very boring field (25:06). Nik Moody is a rapper, screenwriter, actor, artist, and now a returning guest to the podcast. Nik chats with Alex about his new movie, his new music, and his new partner (26:30). Alex has two winning weeks for his picks in the college football world, and makes a bold prediction for the CFB Playoffs (50:08). The race to the bottom continues for Michael's Giants and Alex's Patriots in the NFL, as these teams continue to lose at embarrassing levels (51:46). As we #AwaysEndWithFood, it's all about Thanksgiving, from the turkey to the sides to when you need to be taking that bird out of your freezer (hint: a lot sooner than you think) (55:54). An incredible eagle, a walk from a Tiger, the format for the TGL, and a race to the bottom in the NFL on this week's episode, hosted by Alex Lauzon and Michael Russell. Alex has returned from a Florida vacation, and in confused as to why the clubhouse thought it horrible he was playing with the ladies (2:16). The World Wide Technologies Championship had an incredible finish as Erik von Rooyen played his heart out for his college teammate (5:24). When Tiger moves about the world, the golf world watches, and Alex can't wait to see where Tiger is walking to now (8:06). The TGL announced their match format, and the guys wonder if we'll keep watching week in and week out (10:20). Sports Illustrated is taking advantage of the slow golf season by giving out some bad takes, including one which includes big changes to Augusta (13:58). On our YouTube channel you can watch Alex play 9 holes at Austin Country Club, and see the first part of the guy's trip to TPC Sawgrass (16:54). The PGA TOUR stays in paradise for the Butterfield Bermuda Championship, which doesn't include many people fans of heard of (18:14). This week's returning guest is Danny Wuerffel, a Heisman Trophy Winner, Collegiate National Champion with the Florida Gators, and NFL quarterback. But Danny does a lot now to give back to his community, and his Desire Cup, pitting Georgia and Florida alumni against each other, allows his charities to do some great work. Danny shares why he gives back and what makes the Desire Cup so special. Learn more about Danny's Desire Cup by clicking here (19:51). Alex's wrapped up his vacation as a friend's wedding, which including prop bets which actual lines available before the ceremony (38:50). Alex had a winning week (finally!) in his college football picks, making him rethink his strategy for the rest of the season (42:28). In the NFL, Michael's Giants and Alex's Patriots continue to suck something horrible, as the Giants' QB problems continue to sour and the Patriots' just suck (43:13). As the guys #AlwaysEndWithFood, Alex shares the best thing he ate during his Gulf Coast vacation, and Michael is happily making maples bars in the bakery (46:34). Support our friends! Tyler also shares why it's so important to "Save Muny," what it was like chatting with Ben Crenshaw, and how his own golf game is doing (22:09). Alex's college football picks are not as bad this week, but things weren't good for the Florida Gators in Jacksonville against the Georgia Bulldogs (52:18). In the NFL, the guys' favorite teams are so bad that losing just isn't good enough any more (53:21). Almost all the tours are quiet this weekend, with the exception of the DP World Tour which heads to Qatar (10:28). In Tuned In, Michael is catching a horror classic in "The Shining," while also watching 2023's fun "Polite Society." Alex, meanwhile, was paying close attention to his Austin Gamblers at the PBR Finals in Las Vegas, home of The Sphere (11:42). This week's guest is Sean McLaughlin, currently appearing on season 9 of "Bachelor in Paradise." Sean chats about his time on season 20 of "The Bachelorette," the rise of his love for cashmere, and how poor his golf game is (14:29). Alex and Michael's favorite NFL teams both had wins this weekend, a rare feat that may not be repeated again this year. And the Taylor Swift+Travis Kelce affair is showing dividends for the Chiefs (45:18). Alex's picks in the college football world continue to disappoint, and may warrant staying away from, warns Michael (48:38). The NBA kicks off their season, and Alex is writing about it weekly on RunYourPool (50:14).
