This week we are saying "hello" or potentially even "bonjour" (if it isn't too culturally insensitive) from our live show at the Just For Laughs festival in Montreal. We speak with comedian, thought leader, and Justin Trudeau truther Robby Hoffman about, quite frankly, everything. That's right, her topic is Everything and actually that isn't even broad enough for our conversation. We cover mother-based gun ownership, the delights of poutine, and even gay men's interior design choices. Plus, Robby has a call to action that will have you running away from the voting booth this election cycle. Let this episode radicalize you! In this episode, host David Abrams is in conversation with Josh Berger, Vice President at Norman Bobrow & Co. Josh shares his views on the return to the physical workplace and on the Manhattan real estate market. I loved how Josh expressed his learned belief that ‘there is no one size fits all,' and that every situation is unique. Savvy landlords see that helping their customers to attract and retain tenants is now a priority. While this phenomenon began pre-pandemic, it is certainly a bigger part of the conversation today. The question now is, what is really most important to tenants? Ping pong tables or conference centers? We both agree that Covid has awakened the real estate industry and that we can't do business the way we always had. Josh really impressed me with his commitment to ‘helping people,' particularly during the pandemic and his position that ‘it is never about the commission'. Subscribe to TEN so you never miss an episode of the Tenant Experience Network.

Keisha Whaley got tired of waiting. A veritable wunderkind in the marketing and advertising world, Keisha looked around the room at pitch meeting after pitch meeting and knew something wasn't right. Sitting in chairs ringing the room were bright, young, eager, and talented creative professionals...who were doing nothing but taking up space. As a young and successful creative executive she realized that her path was an uncommon one...but it didn't have to be. Understanding the inherent value in investing time, resources, and yes dollars in an "unskilled" workforce of interns, Keisha tried to get the agencies where she was working to create opportunities for interns differently- but no one would bite. So, she set out and decided to do it on her own. Brass Tacks Collective is a mission driven creative agency that's focused on being the "embodiment of a future where diversity and inclusion are no longer boxes to be checked, but catalysts for beautifully and strategically-crafted brands." This multi-faceted agency boasts a client list that spans commerce, non profit, and some of the most iconic brands in recent history. What sets them apart, however, isn't just the quality of their work, but also the team they employ to make that work possible. As part of the BT Foundry, burgeoning creative professionals are given more than just platitudes and an opportunity to make agencies seem larger than they are. Interns are trained, given new skills, and (gasp) paid for their time and their work, all while being able to substantively contribute to programs and campaigns that have an actual impact in the world. Keisha's drive to create equitable spaces everywhere started as a baby (no, really- ask her about it some time) and has continued through her work with brands and individuals to shape conversations that have substantive results. Fun fact: this episode was recorded right before Winter Storm Uri hit, and if you listen closely, you can hear the tinkling sound and hopeful naivete of three people who have no idea they're all about to lose power. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/casuallycrtve/message

At the end of 2018, New York City stand-up comedian Mike Lemme traveled to London, Paris and Rome to perform in some unusual venues – conference rooms that he rented in local office buildings – while documenting his experience on YouTube. On this podcast, Mike describes his adventures from his European conference room comedy tour (including his encounters with drunk people, newlyweds, protests & riots, and an “overexposed” Couchsurfing host). He also shares how these gigs gave him the confidence and clout to get opportunities to headline comedy shows in larger clubs, grow his fan base, and finally take action to achieve his long-held dream of performing at the Edinburgh Festival Fringe, the biggest arts festival in the world. Learn more about Mike and his comedy shows on his website www.mikelemme.com, via email at mike@mikelemme.com, on Instagram @mikelemme and on his Eventbrite page, and watch his YouTube documentary of his conference room tour called “Something New."   Mike’s full bio: Mike Lemme is an internationally touring stand-up comedian, writer and producer best known for his work at the UNDER St. Marks Theater in New York’s East Village. Mike wrote and produced 2018’s 50th & 4th, a play loosely inspired by his first roommates in the city, a married couple he found on Craigslist. The play followed Mike’s 2016 15-night-residency at the same theater, which he turned into his first stand-up film called Help Wanted. A former intern for Jimmy Fallon and Conan O’Brien, Mike has also warmed-up studio audiences for Who Wants To Be A Millionaire and wrote for Second City: This Week. Late last year, Mike decided to work on new material by traveling to London, Paris and Rome, where he performed in conference rooms that he rented. He’s documented his experience on YouTube.
