Chris O'Regan interviews Renee Gittins of Stumbling Cat about the design and development of Potions: A Curious Tale, an action adventure with an apothecary bent. http://media.blubrry.com/caneandrinse/caneandrinse.com/sausage/TSF_Episode498.mp3 The Sausage Factory 498 was edited by Chris O'Regan The Sausage Factory is an interview-based podcast that lifts the lid on the makers of videogames. It examines the way in which games are made by asking the very people who create them, though the questions asked aren't just about game design, they also cover how developers made their start and what inspires them as creators. Split into two halves, the first segment delves into what makes the developers tick by asking about how they started, what and who inspires them and what games they are currently playing, whereas the second part of the show covers the game that they are currently working on and the thought processes behind its development. So, if you really want to hear about a game's gestation in full and frank detail then you have found the right podcast.
This week on the Super Secret Podcast Danny and Joel chat with Renee Gittins of Stumbling Cat Games! Platforming untold stories of Black queer lives, Team Angelica/The Art Machine are excited to be launching their fresh new audio drama Scooters, Shooters and Shottas: a Curious Tale. Set on a rough council estate in South London, it follows the rowdy antics of Black queer outsiders Kola, Ranksy and Bunni Boi, who dream of breaking big as grime artists. The drama explores violence, masculinity and homophobia, the struggle to pursue creative endeavours, and the socio-economic challenges faced by the Black queer community in London. In a Sex Education meets Top Boy style, it gives a voice to the underrepresented, and fosters discussions about issues faced by the Black LGBTQ+ community. Scooters, Shooters and Shottas: a Curious Tale is a Team Angelica/The Art Machine co-production. The World's Olympic Games. An amazing showcase of athletic ability and sportsmanship. People can train for years to perform and compete for a few moments. Every event showcases the best of the best for all over the world. But, sometimes, things just don't go ... well … as well as expected. For example, in 1904, in St. Louis. The Olympic Games were paired with the world's fair. And for the first time in modern history, the games took place in the western hemisphere. It was August in St. Louis. It was hot. It was humid. The runners had a rather challenging 24.85-mile course (yes, it's supposed to be 26.2). It was hilly, largely unpaved, and dusty. And then, the race started
In this episode of the "Rogues, Rascals and Rapscallions" series, Rabbi Dunner charts the extraordinary life story of the only rabbi who wrote a letter to defend the convicted felon Zeide Meir Schmellner, after his arrest in the late 1930s. Who was Rabbi Yisroel Twersky, the celebrated Kozhnitz-Chernobyl Rebbe of New York? Where was he from? How did he end up in New York? What compelled him to defend Schmellner? And why did he fade into complete obscurity long before he died? Once again, Rabbi Dunner presents a stunning story from the margins of Jewish history.
THE TEN MINUTE FORTNIGHT: cricket in the rain at the Oval, and Shomit Dutta's new play Stumped "It's a very liberating thing to take a day off work to go to the curry house and the pub, and you wouldn't do that under other circumstances." THE REVIEW (19'00): Jon Hotten - Bat, Ball and Field: The Elements of Cricket (July 2022) "I was astonished to read the section on Shane Warne's mural - including his friends, imaginary friends, and people he admired, all chilling by a swimming pool." Twenty-five years ago, a cargo of millions of pieces of Lego was washed off the ship Tokio during a storm off Land's End. The cargo was en route from the company's factory in Billund, Denmark, to North America, where it was to be made-up into sets. To this day, tiny pieces of plastic are still being found on Cornish beaches – and by a strange quirk of fate, much of this Lego is sea-themed. On this episode of The PastCast, Tracey Williams, whose fascination with collecting the Lego washed up on her local beaches has driven her to publish a book, discusses the story of the lost cargo, the subsequent recovery efforts, and the environmental implications of the phenomenon. Not for the faint of heart! The shocking and true tale all unfolded on marine radio channel 16. We listened to the whole tragic accident unfold in real time in a conversation with Crystal Bay's Captain Pence and the Coast Guard. The boat was headed for San Pedro, California when Captain Pence discovered they were missing a crewman. Left alone in the cold water and pitch black night off the coast of Ventura, CA. Hear how he survived for about 9 hours while lost at sea. We also talk about a tunnel job with Jacy Anderson and hear about opportunities for divers interested in underground hyperbaric works. An amazing episode with something for everyone. Down-on-their-luck Alice and Lenny Spearfish get rich after digging up treasure in their garden. Whilst this provides them with a lovely new house, Lenny goes off the rails as Alice gets more and more despondent. After being drugged following a big-spending night in the casino, Lenny manages to survive being shot twice by a prostitute-murdering maniac… but how? As he becomes convinced that he's now immortal and his financial investments start to really pay off, Alice gets Maddie and Jonathan involved to find out what's really going on.Does selling your soul to Lucifer really make you invincible? (Spoiler alert: it does not). And as if that wasn't enough, long-dead poet William Topaz McGonagall resurrects himself from beyond the grave to commit his thoughts on the episode to paper. The Curious Tale of Mr Spearfish was the opening episode of series three of Jonathan Creek and aired on November 27th 1999. In 1997 sixty-two containers fell off the cargo ship Tokio Express after it was hit by a rogue wave off the coast of Cornwall, including one container filled with nearly five million pieces of Lego, much of it sea themed. In the months that followed, beachcombers started to find Lego washed up on beaches across the south west coast. Among the pieces they discovered were octopuses, sea grass, spear guns, life rafts, scuba tanks, cutlasses, flippers and dragons. The pieces are still washing up today. Adrift: The Curious Tale of the Lego Lost at Sea (Unicorn, 2022) is a colourfully illustrated and engaging tale, for all ages, of the Lego pieces and the stories behind their continuing discovery by beachcombers and fishermen. This video is an update to the video I did a few days ago called ghost in the machine video. I shared the story of the youtube user called Ghost in the Machine. And since then he posted an update about his situation. He no longer lives like Tyler Durden from fight club instead he's opted back into society to some extent and he has some advice for newly minted men going their own way. So now I'm going to read to you what Ghost in the Machine has to say, here goes: "Hi Sandman, when I was leaving my old politically correct life behind in the 1980s, and learning my new Ghosting/MGTOW lifestyle. There were certainly no friends supporting me back then, and little information on the subject. I was on my own. The movie, 'Fight Club', reflects best my mental state and life style at that time, Second, I noticed that some of you confused Ghosting and MGTOW. In its simplest terms, MGTOW means walking away from women, where Ghosting means walking away from society. Ghosting: Some men live in the country and grow their own food, raise their own livestock and use solar panels for electricity. Some also use satellites for internet connections. They are cutting themselves off from society and ghosting in their own way. And, some are married. With regards to MGTOW, some MGTOWs date, but they never ever consider getting married. Some MGTOWs don't want to have anything to do with women at all. MGTOW is not Ghosting. Ghosting is not MGTOW. But, they do have a common thread which is being the social lepers of society, and often men are both MGTOW and Ghosts. And finally, I am still Ghosting today (and MGTOW), but living in a more comfortable manner. I live in a 1983 travel trailer and I drive a 1991 Ford ranger. I purposely choose to live in a travel trailer instead of a home because you might have to move quickly to a new location if society goes to hell. I do have an internet connection. I still believe in a ‘cash only' life style. If I want something, I save up for it and buy it. I never borrow money from banks or on credit cards. I do have one credit card in my name that I needed for the internet, and I pay it off completely each month. I still cook my own meals and avoid eating out. I still don't vote, but I do watch the news. I watch the news not because I care, but because I find it entertaining. I own a home business (a second travel trailer) and I walk 20 steps to work each day (when I decide to get up that is). I made myself a promise back in the 80s that I would never get married again even if I did fall in love with a woman. Well, I did fall in love, and I did get rid of her, fast, staying true to my Ghosting/MGTOW way of life. I was MGTOW long before most of you and am still that way today. The word 'marriage' has not been in my vocabulary since the 80s, it's just a slang term I use now for describing something stupid and nasty. My ‘Walden Pond' days in the 80s, living in that old house, were my ‘basic training' days for my future life. That period of my life was also my rebellion against living a politically correct life, and my rebellion against getting married and reentering society. I know how to Ghost now. I still adhere to most of the Ghosting principles I learned years ago. I would recommend a few years of hardcore Ghosting to anyone for training purposes. And yes, I do have electricity, but I am installing solar panels next year. And, I do play video games. I'm enjoying Splinter Cell Blacklist at the moment. The Strange & Curious Tale of the Last True Hermithttp://www.gq.com/news-politics/newsm...North Pond Hermithttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bDd_0...Christopher Knight, Maine Hermit, Attracts Wedding Proposal: Authoritieshttp://www.huffingtonpost.com/2013/04...The Littlest Hobohttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lgGKS...Support this podcast at — https://redcircle.com/mgtow/donationsAdvertising Inquiries: https://redcircle.com/brandsPrivacy & Opt-Out: https://redcircle.com/privacy

The Curious Tale of Wisteria Vale is the script of a play written in Common. It is split up into three acts, telling the story of a heroic bard before he becomes corrupted by evil. A wizard named Ryllia Liadon donated the book to Candlekeep as an entrance gift. She didn’t tell the Avowed that the book contains the secret to accessing Wisteria Vale, a magical demiplane created by the Harpers to imprison a bard named Arrant Quill until they could free him from the influence of an evil artifact. The book has been hidden in the Candlekeep archives for three years, but the Harpers have finally discovered a cure for Quill’s corruption, and the time has come to visit Wisteria Vale once more. In today's Lomdeha Seminar shiur (10/16/20) we took up the midrash in Sukkah 48b about the two heretics, Sasson and Simchah. We learned and evaluated three approaches, and concluded with a fourth quasi-original approach, with plenty of methodological insights along the way.--------------------מקורות:שמואל הנגיד - מבוא התלמודתלמוד בבלי סוכה דף מח עמוד ברש"י שםרשימות שיעורי הגרי"ד שםמהרש"א – חדושי אגדותשם משמואל – סוכות פרק א אות לג-לו רמב"ן - הויכוח--------------------If you have questions, comments, or feedback, I would love to hear from you! Q: When is an operation not actually an operation? And when does an operation have some rather unexpected consequences? A: Listen and find out. In 2011, I had a hypnotic gastric band. In this episode I explain what happened and the events that surrounded it. In this episode, I tell you all about it. This experience was the beginning of my recovery from compulsive eating. But the $64,000 question was: how much of that was down to the hypnotherapist, and how much was down to what I did with the experience? In this episode I share: *What is a hypnotic gastric band *The extra (some would say OTT) prep I did outside my sessions to make the ‘operation' as real as possible to my subconscious mind (I don't think anyone has ever been so committed as I was!) *The odd thing that happened immediately after the ‘operation' *The turning point two weeks afterwards – and the landmark three words that changed everything for me *What Bear Grylls and a Victorian dwarf have got to do with all this RESOURCES Find out more about coaching here: http://www.theshiftinside.com/coaching/ Email: info (at) theshiftinside.com Instagram @eatingcoach 6 Years Sugar Free Episode http://www.theshiftinside.com/six/ Better Than Willpower episode http://www.theshiftinside.com/audio-better-than-willpower-ec29/ Sound effects by https://www.zapsplat.com

Is this the most insanely convoluted reveal in Jonathan Creek history?? Callum and David practice social distancing while attempting to decipher the myriad red herrings, antisemitic undertones and an inexplicable early appearance of Maxine Peake.... As mentioned in the episode, we have set up a Patreon in order to try and deliver some much needed escapism to the nation whilst financially attempting to weather this storm ourselves. The High Low is BACK after a week's hiatus in which Dolly went to Majorca, boggled at its lack of scene and read a bunch of books. Meanwhile Pandora's got summer flu and wants Dolly to update the Good Reads profile. There's Bond, vegan feminist cafes and Taylor Swift in The Top Line. And we look at the surprise shouty renaissance of Trinny and "put a waist belt on it" Susannah's Trinny Woodall. In the wake of the horrifying white supremacist rally in Charlottesville and murder of an innocent young woman, we discuss what the various public reactions say about white privilege; particularly one divisive tweet from Lorde. We also discuss the presence of rape culture in the reporting and reaction to model Chloe Ayling's account of her kidnap and imprisonment. Plus, we answer a reader question on toxic friendships in the workplace.
