James Gray is a journalist and broadcaster for i newspaper and inews.co.uk, George Bellshaw is a tennis writer with more appearances at majors than disgruntled former doubles partners (just), and Calvin Betton is a respected tennis coach who knows just about everyone worth knowing in British tennis. A new era begins. Tennis Unfiltered starts with Calvin Betton (resident tennis coach) calling in from Portugal, James Gray (inews.co.uk and i newspaper) on the line from Melbourne and George Bellshaw (tennis writer) in... north London. It's not all glamour. This week, we tackle the big topics in tennis. Is a sachet of vinegar acceptable to drink on court? What is Cliff Richard's biggest hit? Will Netflix ever learn? We also talk about some tennis too. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
This is the last Love Tennis Podcast (sort of). As of next week, we will be Tennis Unfiltered. The OG fans will remember we started this podcast as part of Love Sport Radio, a now defunct radio station, and that's where we got our name: the Love Tennis Podcast, a sort of co-branding exercise. It stuck, and we never bothered to change it. But over time, we've realised that it didn't really suit us as a brand, or reflect who we are. So we've changed. We commissioned an amazing graphic designer called Luke to do all our new logos and banners, which look amazing, and one day you might even be able to buy a t-shirt with the logos on. (We have mock-ups, they look amazing.) Thank you to everyone who listened and contributed in 2022 - your downloads helped us pay Luke a proper wage to do some fantastic work. Not too much will change about the podcast: it will still be James, Calvin and George, talking nonsense. Hopefully it'll be better, the mailbag will be checked more often and we'll be even more successful in 2023. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Will Tim Henman ever stop talking? Is the Forbes list of highest paid female athletes in 2022 total nonsense? Will Rafael Nadal retire this year? Who is Novak Djokovic's new physio? What about Emma Raducanu's new coach? Plus: we answer your questions from Twitter! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

George Bellshaw and Calvin Betton join James Gray to talk about the biggest issues in tennis this week: Novak Djokovic wins his 90th ATP title in Astana, beating a strong field and thrashing Stefanos Tsitsipas in the final. The former world No 1 is now guaranteed a place at the ATP World Tour finals and has lost just two tour matches since May - is this season he is putting together being underrated? Daniil Medvedev was putting together a fine match against Djokovic before pulling an adductor muscle. What next for him? Is Barbora Krejcikova good for women's tennis? She is certainly good at it after becoming just the second player in senior tennis to beat Iga Swiatek in a final. Both women saved match points before Krejcikova triumphed in three sets. Emma Raducanu has ended her WTA season with a wrist injury but says she will play Billie Jean King Cup. What should we hope for next season? And will the seven-figure investment in British tennis secure her legacy? Where will Taylor Fritz end next year after beating Frances Tiafoe to the title in Tokyo? Fritz is the only player along with Djokovic to win a 250, 500 and 1000 event in 2022 and is up to No 8 in the world. There has been some movement on the Nick Kyrgios court case in Australia - James explains what but you should also read this explainer with one of Australia's top lawyers: https://inews.co.uk/sport/tennis/the-next-emma-raducanu-british-tennis-grand-slam-champion-1891939 Learn more about your ad choices.
