Tennis commentator Abigail Johnson joins the podcast for the first time alongside James Gray in Melbourne and George Bellshaw in London, with Calvin Betton calling in from Dallas, Texas. Listeners ask: Will Elena Rybakina or Aryna Sabalenka have the consistency to challenge Iga Swiatek for No 1 status? Is the one-handed backhand dying and why? We ask: Has Novak Djokovic's 3cm 'tear' (or was in an inflammation?) sparked a new playing style that will herald a new era in his career? What will we remember this Australian Open for in years to come? Is Alycia Parks just the latest player to throw her hat into the ring for WTA supremacy? How will the ATP respond to Nick Kyrgios's guilty plea for common assault of his then-girlfriend? Should the tour do anything more with the Alexander Zverev allegations? Australian Open review: What next for Djokovic, where Tsitsipas went wrong and a women's final classic

Want to ask a listener question? Mention us on Twitter (@UnfilterTennis), DM us on Instagram (@tennisunfilteredpod) or email as tennisunfiltered@gmail.com. James Gray in Melbourne, Calvin Betton in Barnsley and George Bellshaw in London look back at the 2023 Australian Open. Novak Djokovic beat Stefanos Tsitsipas in straight sets and dropped just one set all tournament - is this how he should be playing all the time now? What did Tsitsipas do wrong? Can any of the 1990s kids touch the GOAT generation? Aryna Sabalenka out-hit Elena Rybakina in a three-set final that a chaotic and often lopsided women's draw desperately needed - but will we see them both back here again? Why didn't Iga Swiatek make it? Is Rybakina's coach too negative? Will Calvin actually wear his cowboy hat? We try to make sense of it all, one way or another... LISTENER QUESTIONS Elena Tsourdi asks: "1) What are your thoughts on Medvedev's lacklustre form? Game plan of absorbing power from the BL being read by more opponents?2) What does Swiatek need to change to be more competitive vs big hitters and agrressive returners (Rybakina, Sabalenka, Garcia)? Tim Mason asks: "Thoughts on how much of a lift locker room invincibility gives you please. And what the pack can do to counteract it.... other than winning more?" Gohan asks "If Murray put Berrettini away in 3 sets, and presumably starts the Kokkinakis match with more energy and doesn't end up going to 5 sets, how far do you think he could've gone in the slam, especially with how his quarter of the draw collapsed?" Hanya asks simply: "Match of the tournament?" Sinfoerubelix asks: "How much worse can the atp get?" And finally, Rick Marsonet asks: "What's more upsetting, Rybakina playing from the parking lot for her first few matches, Djoker's rigged draw, Djoker's fake injury or the crazy preferential treatment Djoker received by playing at night every match?!?!" Is Novak Djokovic faking an injury? Pod divided over the biggest story of the Australian Open quarter-finals

Tennis coach Calvin Betton joins writer George Bellshaw and inews.co.uk journalist James Gray to talk through the biggest issues from the third and fourth rounds of the Australian Open and look ahead to the second week: Novak Djokovic is through after he absolutely marmalised Alex De Minaur 6-2 6-1 6-2 - but is he carry an injury or is he playing possum? Djokovic says he is being victimised: “I leave the doubting to those people – let them doubt. Only my injuries are questioned. When some other players are injured, then they are the victims, but when it is me, I am faking it. It is very interesting… I don't feel that I need to prove anything to anyone." Stefanos Tsitsipas and Jannik Sinner went five sets, Tsitsipas taking the first two and Sinner taking the next two before the Greek took the decider. Tsitsipas said afterwards: “I think that I just released my arm a little bit, released my wrist on the serve. That helped me a lot to generate more power and accuracy, something that I wasn't doing before. It completely changed the way I approached this match.” Andrey Rublev beat Holger Rune in possibly the best match tie-break ever, coming from 5-0 down to win it. Rune also served for the match at 5-3 and was broken to love, and also had match points at 4-5. Ben Shelton has never been outside America and is now a grand slam quarter-finalist, how far can he go? Iga Swiatek is out, beaten by Elena Rybakina and Coco Gauff was shocked by Jelena Ostapenko. Gauff, through tears of frustration, said she would take her anger out playing doubles with Jessica Pegula. Who now will triumph from a wide open women's draw with Wimbledon champion Rybakina going well? In the bottom half, Magda Linette is the surprise package - or is it Karolina Pliskova, finally delivering an elite grand slam performance? Aryna Sabalenka seems to have her demons under control, but for how long? Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

This is the last Love Tennis Podcast (sort of). As of next week, we will be Tennis Unfiltered. The OG fans will remember we started this podcast as part of Love Sport Radio, a now defunct radio station, and that's where we got our name: the Love Tennis Podcast, a sort of co-branding exercise. It stuck, and we never bothered to change it. But over time, we've realised that it didn't really suit us as a brand, or reflect who we are. So we've changed. We commissioned an amazing graphic designer called Luke to do all our new logos and banners, which look amazing, and one day you might even be able to buy a t-shirt with the logos on. (We have mock-ups, they look amazing.) Thank you to everyone who listened and contributed in 2022 - your downloads helped us pay Luke a proper wage to do some fantastic work. Not too much will change about the podcast: it will still be James, Calvin and George, talking nonsense. Hopefully it'll be better, the mailbag will be checked more often and we'll be even more successful in 2023. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
