The UFC is taking a rare week off for the Thanksgiving holiday, which means we're giving thanks for all the good fights we get to watch by watching some less than sparkling examples of elite mixed martial arts competition. This week's episode is centered around MMA's nerdiest fighters and their horrible, soul crushing moments when they took on guys who were just way better. Opening up the festivities is a relatively recent bout; Chase Hooper hit the Octagon for the second time as a pro back in 2020, when he fought Alex Caceres at UFC 250. Unfortunately for ‘The Dream', ‘Bruce Leeroy' put a three round whipping on him, and then dumped his books. From there we move to a 2017 bout between Jack Marshman and full-time web developer (part-time fighter) Ryan Janes at UFC Fight Night: Nelson vs. Ponzinibbio. Marshman followed a fairly one-sided three round drubbing by giving Janes a nasty swirly. Finally, to wrap the whole thing up, we went all the way back to 2014 and UFC 171, where Dennis Bermudez put a hurting on crafty grappler Jimy Hettes. A true locker-stuffing if ever there was one. As is usual, we're watching all three bouts on UFC Fight Pass. For those that want to watch along with us, press play on each video when Zane says “Go.” For those watching the fights via another resource, Connor will try to announce the beginning of round 1 so that videos can be synced up there. Bloody Elbow fight experts, Zane Simon & Eddie Mercado, are here tonight – Sat, June 19th, to breakdown the UFC VEGAS 29: Korean Zombie vs Dan Ige Fight Night event, which was broadcast from the UFC APEX Center in Las Vegas, NV. The guys will have hot takes, possible next fights, as well as reactions to the overall event. Returning to the down-sized APEX octagon for the main event, we had a Featherweight tilt between the #4 ranked, Chan Sung Jung, aka: ‘The Korean Zombie', with an impressive 16-6 record, three of those more recent bouts were first round finishes, including Frankie Edgar, Renato Moicano and Dennis Bermudez; and his opponent tonight being the #8 ranked, Dan ‘50K' Ige; who was coming off a first round victory over Gavin Tucker back in March of this year via a sweet Right Cross just 22 seconds into the round. The Zombie, the obvious favorite, won the fight tonight via unanimous decision, outgrappling Ige throughout the five-round main event fight. Post-fight he was awarded his black belt and was noticeably and understandably more excited about this achievement than defeating the likes of Dan Ige. It's time for TKZ to get a title shot. In the co-main event, we had a Heavyweight contest featuring the underdog, Sergey ‘Polar Bear' Spivak, who was coming at this bout on a two-fight win streak against Jared Vanderaa and Carlos Felipe since last July, 2020. His opponent in this bout was #15 ranked Aleksei ‘The Boa Constrictor' Oleinik; the Russian brawler had an impressive 59-15 career record, but was coming into the octagon tonight off of two losses to Chris Daukaus and Derrick Lewis since last August, 2020. He is the only fighter to win a UFC fight via Ezekiel choke, doing so twice; also holding the record for most Ezekiel choke wins in MMA competition, with fourteen. Regardless Okeinik's abundancy of career wins, he lost unanimously when the bout went to decision tonight. In the end, he was not favored on the judges scorecards, Spivak took the ‘W' tonight. Also on the card, Marlon ‘Chito' Vera made an epic effort with a thrilling win after a legendary scrap with ‘Dangerous' Davey Grant, putting an abrupt end to his three-fight win streak. We also had a Welterweight clash when Matt ‘The Immortal' Brown went up against Dhiego Lima, in a tilt that ended when Brown devastated Lima with a Right Cross in the second round. Overall, this 12-bout card saw 3 1st Rd finishes, 5 KO/TKO's – 1 stoppage, 1 sub, & 6 decisions, including our Main & Co-Main events - 2 of those 6 being Split. Rounding things out, bonuses for putting forth POTN efforts went to Matt Brown & Seungwoo Choi; FOTN honors went to Vera vs. Grant. Here's a look at the UFC VEGAS 29: ‘KOREAN ZOMBIE VS IGE' RESULTS & UPDATED FIGHT RECORDS: ESPN 2/ESPN+ MAIN EVENT | SAT. JUNE 19 12. Chan Sung Jung (17-6) DEF. Dan Ige (15-4) – DEC, Unanimous 11. On today’s episode we are going to be putting on some gloves, getting in the ring and beating the shit out of each other. Here to teach us the ways is a legendary MMA superstar and retired featherweight division competitor of the UFC as well as Finalist of the Ultimate Fighter 14 and host of the Menace and the Man Show. From Saugerties New York weighing in at 145 lbs, please welcome Dennis the Mennis Bermudez. Created By: Yariv WolokMusic By: Jay LubesGuest: Dennis Bermudez (UFC and YouTube)Website: https://www.flyersnittygritty.comAlways Level Up: A show about overcoming failure, perseverance, and sports. All successful people overcome failure. Athletes, celebrities, and the common person all deal with the rollercoaster of up and downs in their lives. Always level Up is an attempt to to highlight that element of life. To show that the successful, talented, and famous, are simply human.Overcoming failure is no easy task, but all successful people have to go through it to get to the top. Typically when a person hits a level of success, people very rarely discuss the road of failures or struggles that took them to get there. On this episode of Always Level Level up, Yariv Wolok welcomes former UFC professional fighter Dennis Bermudez. The heart of a fighter should never be measured by how many fights he's won, but how many fight's he's been able to continue to fight. After an official 17-9 record in the UFC, Dennis Bermudez decided to hang up his gear in 2019 after winning his final fight. Over Dennis' career he had man ups and downs that lead to him making the highest level of competition. Without ever having any of the recognition as the other division 1 athletes, Dennis made sure to work for every inch he's been given. To fight for every opportunity. In my opinion this relates a lot the heart of a hockey player. The ability to ratchet up the intensity, to fight for every inch, and to mentally prepare for battle. Hockey's roots have always leveraged violence and intensity. It has its bullies, its brawlers, and fighters. At heart of any fighter is the will to fight.Check out Dennis Bermudez YouTube channel: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC05xyhv4UfT6bHOj_d_Y93wLike and subscribe if you want more of this content!Check Out Our Team Store: https://teespring.com/stores/flyers-nitty-gritty-store-4

Rudy Solis 3rd and Dan The Man are back on this MMA edition of The GoldCast! First up is UFC 208. Dan breaks down why this event is important and drops who he thinks will win the main event between Holly Holm and Germaine De Randamie for the inaugural Women's Featherweight Belt. (00:00) Next up, the boys recap the big fights from the last two UFC Fight Nights: Valentina Schevchenko vs. Julianna Pena, Jessica Andrade vs. Angela Hill, and the Korean Zombie vs. Dennis Bermudez. (Apologies on the mispronunciation of Dennis Bermudez' name) (9:30) Last, but certainly far from least, they go over Conor McGregor's PPV press conference and the implications it may have on the future of boxing and MMA super fights. (20:50)
At UFC Fight Night 104 (UFC Houston), the Korean Zombie (Chan Sung Jung) returned from a three-year layoff with a bang, stopping Dennis Bermudez in the first round. Felice Herrig earned a tough win over Alexa Grasso and James Vick secured a solid d'arce choke finish over Abel Trujillo. We'll go through the card and those fights on this edition of the Monday Morning Analyst.
TJ De Santis and Caleb Quinn returned to the Sherdog Radio Network for another edition of “MMA Evolution.” On this episode the guys discuss the UFC Fight Night card which saw Chan Sung Jung defeat Dennis Bermudez in the main event. The two also size up Felice Herrig's upset of Alexa Grasso. De Santis also recaps some of the action from last week's Tachi Palace Fights card.
UFC Fight Night 104 ended with decidedly divergent fortunes for main and co-main event favorites Chan Sung Jung and Alexa Grasso. Jung returned from three years away from the cage to triumphantly knock out Dennis Bermudez in the first round, while Grasso--yeah, we're not totally sure what happened there. In any case, this week's CME podcast takes a look at Jung's return and Grasso's tepid unanimous decision loss to Felice Herrig. In addition to that, Ben and Chad look ahead to this weekend's UFC 208, including Anderson Silva taking on Derek Brunson (we know, weird, right?) and Holly Holm fighting Germaine de Randamie for the women's featherweight title originally meant for Cyborg Justino. All that, pus AYFKM and Just Sayin' Stuff.

Octogon n°213 - Vers l’UFC 208…
UFC 189: Chad Mendes vs. Conor McGregor is in the books and it may have been the best mixed martial arts (MMA) event of all time. This is the Monday Morning Analyst with Luke Thomas.
