Could the very tools designed to enhance our productivity in the workplace be silently shaping a future of bias and invasion of privacy? Join me, Mark, as we delve into the profound impact AI is having on employment, from the boardroom to the break room. Along with insights from industry consultants, we unpack the transformative effects on hiring practices, highlighting the unseen biases lurking within AI algorithms. We confront the unsettling reality of how these systems could perpetuate discrimination and examine their role in employee surveillance, questioning the trade-off between efficiency and ethical practice. In a world where AI's judgment can influence your career trajectory, understanding its reach into performance evaluations and mental health assessments is crucial. Our discussion traverses the spectrum from the benefits of AI, such as personalized support and early symptom detection for mental well-being, to the darker side of increased scrutiny and emotional surveillance. We dissect the delicate balance between leveraging AI for good while safeguarding against its potential to exacerbate workplace stress and breach the sanctity of personal data. Finally, we grapple with the complex relationship between trust and technology as AI surveillance becomes an unwelcome fixture in our professional lives. I emphasize the pressing need for self-awareness and proactive measures in protecting our digital footprints from prying algorithmic eyes. The responsibility to navigate these murky waters lies not only with employers and regulators but with each of us as individuals. As we sign off, I urge you to stay vigilant and informed, for the AI-driven workplace is not a distant future—it's here, and its implications are profound. We're no law enforcement experts, but this seemed a bit fishy. However, another user, Jerry, assured us it was legit and even asked for our email to get started.

The FBI's most controversial surveillance tool, FISA Section 702, is up for reauthorization this year. Supporters of 702 argue that it is vital for national security and counterterrorism efforts, while critics warn that it allows for warrantless surveillance of Americans leading to potential violations of the Fourth Amendment. This week, host Elisa is joined by Liza Goitein, nationally-recognized expert on government surveillance and secrecy, to discuss the varying viewpoints on 702, its strength and weakness, and what reforms may be useful. The plaintiff says he rented a home to the defendants, but claims they neglected the house and didn't pay their rent, so he's suing. The defendants claim the house was already in disrepair when they moved in. They say the plaintiff was so rude that they had to call the police. Then, the plaintiff says she was hired to change the main mast rigging on the defendant's sailboat. She claims he never paid her, so she's suing for the money she's owed. The defendant claims he was restoring the boat for charity and says the plaintiff volunteered her time and would only charge for parts. Plus, the plaintiff says she bought a used car from the defendant's business. She claims it failed an inspection and never should have been sold in that shape, so she's suing for the cost of repairs. The defendant insists he's a reputable dealer and claims the car passed inspection before he sold it. Don't forget to rate and subscribe so you never miss an episode. Darius and Priscilla discuss a recent traumatic experience
Have you ever experienced betrayal and humiliation when the stakes were high? How would you react if it went viral on a global scale? My guest, Everette Taylor, who is now the CEO of Kickstarter, knows first hand what it's like to be exposed to the dark side of social media. In 2020, he was the Chief Marketing Officer at Artsy, the largest online marketplace for buying and selling fine art. That year, a story broke in which an individual claimed that she was pregnant, and Everette was the father. This individual already had a documented history of manipulating media narratives, lying about the nature of past romantic partnerships, and making up scandals to sell books–but the story still spread like wildfire. In the days that followed, Everette received a flood of derogatory messages, insensitive jokes, and intrusive questions that overwhelmed him to the point that he had no choice but to fully retreat from the public eye for quite some time. In this episode, I spoke with Everette about the way he healed from this violation of privacy, and learned to navigate the world differently afterwards.
J. Edgar Hoover, the director of the FBI from 1924 to 1972, was a controversial figure who was known for his aggressive surveillance tactics. He believed that the FBI had a responsibility to protect the United States from any threat, real or perceived, and he was not afraid to use illegal methods to do so. One of Hoover's most controversial targets was the civil rights movement. He believed that the movement was a communist front and that it posed a threat to the American way of life. As a result, the FBI conducted extensive surveillance of civil rights leaders, including Martin Luther King, Jr., Malcolm X, and the Black Panther Party. The FBI used a variety of methods to spy on these leaders, including wiretapping, mail interception, and informants. They also compiled dossiers on these leaders, which included information about their personal lives, their political views, and their associations. The FBI's surveillance of civil rights leaders was a major invasion of privacy. It also had a chilling effect on free speech and political dissent. In the words of Martin Luther King, Jr., "The FBI has become a Gestapo." After the September 11th attacks, the FBI's surveillance of Muslim Americans increased dramatically. The FBI opened up thousands of new investigations into Muslim Americans and mosques. They also used informants to infiltrate Muslim communities and gather intelligence. The FBI's surveillance of Muslim Americans has been criticized by civil liberties groups, who argue that it is discriminatory and violates the First Amendment. In 2013, the American Civil Liberties Union filed a lawsuit against the FBI, alleging that the agency's surveillance program was unconstitutional. The controversy over the FBI's surveillance of civil rights leaders and Muslim Americans is a reminder of the importance of protecting civil liberties. The FBI has a responsibility to protect the United States from threats, but it must do so in a way that respects the rights of all Americans. The Gray Man Theory The Gray Man Theory is a survival strategy that emphasizes blending in with one's surroundings in order to avoid attracting attention. The theory is based on the idea that, in a crisis situation, the person who is most likely to survive is the person who is least likely to be noticed. There are a number of things that one can do to become a Gray Man. One important factor is to dress in a way that does not stand out. This means avoiding bright colors and unusual clothing. It also means dressing in a way that is appropriate for the environment. For example, if you are in a city, you will want to dress in a way that is similar to the other people around you. Another important factor is to avoid making eye contact with strangers. This will help to prevent you from being seen as a threat. It is also important to be aware of your surroundings and to be prepared to move quickly if necessary. The Gray Man Theory is not a guarantee of survival, but it can give you a better chance of making it through a crisis situation. If you are ever in a situation where you need to blend in, the Gray Man Theory can be a valuable tool. Here are some additional tips for becoming a Gray Man: Be aware of your surroundings and be prepared to move quickly if necessary. Avoid making eye contact with strangers. Dress in a way that is appropriate for the environment and does not stand out. Be inconspicuous in your actions and speech. Do not carry anything that could make you a target, such as expensive jewelry or a large amount of cash. Be prepared to defend yourself if necessary. The Gray Man Theory is a valuable survival strategy that can help you to stay safe in a crisis situation. By following these tips, you can increase your chances of surviving and escaping unharmed. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/chrisabraham/message Support this podcast: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/chrisabraham/support

A promising game gets a cease and desist for 'stealing assets'. They discuss hypothetical scenarios on where your obligation ends as a famous person. Do you thinking playing a sport professionally make you smarter about it than someone who hasn't? And Jakub wants to start a new segment called " What has A.I. Iconic music publication, Rolling Stone, released their list of the Top 200 Hip-Hop Albums of all time this week and as you can probably guess it got people pretty upset. Between rappers, journalists, and fans alike everyone had something to say about this list. On today's episode Kaz, Lowkey and Rosy break down why rap lists are always so controversial, take you inside the minds of what a lot of rap journalists tend to think when they are making their selections, and what albums usually tend to categorize themselves as "critical favorites." The crew also discuss why fans are triggered when rap albums released within the past decade are placed on these lists and why such "golden era" albums continue its untouchable reverence throughout history. And of course, the gang gives you their definitive list of the greatest Hip-Hop albums in history after a furious debate between the trio and an impromptu Verzuz battle. (P.S., Rap lists are made to be fun and only come close to fisticuffs in barbershops and maybe dinner tables. Shout to Rolling Stone for driving the convo). 3:00 - Rolling Stone's Top 200 Hip-Hop Album List 6:00 - The Four Albums That Shouldn't Have Made The Top 20 8:00 - Cardi B's "Invasion Of Privacy" 16:00 - "No Tupac?" 19:00 - The Drake, Cole, Kendrick Discussion 26:45 - Kaz's Keepers 27:48 - Low's Keepers 37:00 - Rosy's List 44:26 - Any Albums Of The Past Decade That Should Be Considered. 57:30 - Kaz's Personal List 1:01:11 - Low's Personal List 1:30:57 - The Consensus "Say Less" Top Hip-Hop Albums Of All - TIme Follow Say Less: Watch the full video of the podcast on YouTube.com/Kazeem. Do you question how much access you give to companies? Ever wonder how ads really target you? No this isnt an ad, we (may or may not) HATE it too! Take a listen to this weeks debate!
In this episode, special guests, DJ Gre and Aisatou, try to convince Tubby that "Invasion of Privacy" by Cardi B is a classic rap album, as Tubby listens to the album for the very first time...

This week the gang talks Driver's License girl's new song and SNL performance, Beam Me Up Scotty by Nicki Minaj finally arriving on streaming, two Disney star's new shows, an upcoming posthumous DMX album, and a British award show that none of them watched.
