If you've been feeling discouraged about your blog traffic lately, you're not alone. In this episode of Creatives on Fire, I'm pulling back the curtain on what's really happening with blog traffic in 2025—and giving you five smart strategies to take back control. https://creativesonfirepodcast.com/episode197 How to Get More Blog Traffic I was originally going to cover a different topic this week, but after hearing so many creators talk about low traffic, broken platforms, and general burnout, I had to hit pause and share what I've personally been working through—and how I'm turning it around. Let's talk about what matters, what doesn't, and what you can actually do to get your blog traffic moving again. First: Don't Fall for the Comparison Game It's easy to feel lost when all the voices around you are saying different things. Google is broken, Pinterest is dead, Facebook is hiding links—it's enough to make any blogger feel like giving up. But the truth is, numbers don't lie. So that's where I went—to my Google Analytics. When I compared my year-to-date stats from 2024 to 2025, here's what I found: Sessions were down 20% Pageviews were down a shocking 50% Ouch. That was a wake-up call. But it also gave me clarity. Sessions are mostly out of my control. Pageviews? That's on me. Sessions vs. Pageviews: What's the Difference? If you're not familiar with these terms: Sessions = Visitors arriving at your site (they showed up to the dance) Pageviews = The number of pages they visited (how many people they danced with) So while platforms control a lot of traffic volume (sessions), you control what happens once people land on your site. That's where the pageviews come in—and that's where you can make a huge impact. How to Improve Your Blog's Page Speed Before diving into pageview tactics, I looked at what I could do to improve page speed, which still plays a huge role in search and user experience. Here's what I did: Audited my plugins to remove outdated or unnecessary tools Replaced and optimized my image compression plugin (I now use ShortPixel, which found 1,200 images that needed more compression) Even small improvements to your blog's speed can help platforms like Google and Pinterest want to send more traffic your way. 5 Smart Strategies to Increase Blog Pageviews Once I optimized the tech side, I moved on to what I could do to increase pageviews—the number that is in our control. These five strategies are what I'm actively working on now. 1. Restructure Your Blog for Simpler Navigation When readers land on your homepage or a post, can they immediately tell what you're about and where to go next? Clear navigation, especially with buttons that lead to categories (like “See All Crafts” or “Browse Recipes”), is key. 2. Connect Your Orphan Posts Go find the blog posts that aren't linked to anything else—SEO tools like Ahrefs can help. Either delete them if they don't align with your brand, or link them meaningfully into related content to keep readers clicking. 3. Add Prompts to Explore More Think: “See all fall posts” or “Get more lemon dessert ideas.” Use bold call-to-action buttons early in your post to send them to your category or roundup pages. The more paths they can follow, the more pageviews you'll get. 4. Include a ‘Start Here' Block Toward the top of your post, include a reusable block that says “New here? Start here.” Link it to a curated welcome page with your top categories, opt-ins, and reader favorites. Help new visitors instantly know how to explore. 5. Introduce a Weekly or Ongoing Series Give readers a reason to keep coming back. It could be: A 5-week project like “5 Weeks to a Porch Makeover” A two-part post (before & after) A weekly roundup of your own posts, styled for Pinterest or seasonal trends You could even turn your weekly content into a newsletter hook: “Get this week's top DIYs straight to your inbox!” The Bottom Line: Don't Panic—Make a Plan If traffic is down, take a deep breath. Stop listening to the noise and go check your own analytics. Is it sessions? Pageviews? Once you know, you can act. And that's powerful. Because blogging isn't dead—but it is evolving. And it's our job to evolve with it. Give your blog a tune-up. Guide your readers more clearly. And most importantly, keep showing up consistently. Until next time, stay creative. Imagine following Jesus—and losing everything because of it. Your job, your friends, even your life. That's exactly the type of hardship the Christians in ancient Smyrna faced. We learn about this in Revelation 2:8:11. In the Book of Revelation, Jesus dictated seven letters to the Apostle John when appearing to John in his prison cave on Patmos. Seven letters to seven early Christian Churches, and the second letter goes to the Church in Smyrna.Smyrna's letter is designed to provide comfort and encouragement. Why? Because the Christ followers there were faithful, but they were suffering. Slandered, arrested, even killed for their faith. Can you imagine being persecuted for your faith in Jesus? But right in the middle of their darkest moment, Jesus speaks directly to them—and to us today—with three powerful truths.First: Don't be afraid! Jesus reminds the church that He is “the First and the Last, who died and came to life again.” Translation? Your suffering doesn't have the final word—Jesus does! You may feel like life is beating you down, but don't let fear take over.Second: Stay faithful! Being faithful means believing God has a purpose for your pain. God doesn't send suffering, but He does permit pain. And if you trust in Jesus, you can rest assured that He works everything together for the good of those who love Him.Third: It won't last forever. Jesus promises that those who stay faithful will receive a “victor's crown.” Your struggles are temporary, but your reward is eternal. The gift of Heaven awaits, so hold on—victory is coming! Now, let's be real—you may not face the same kind of persecution today, but don't minimize your pain by comparing it to others. From medical issues, to wayward children, and financial stress, many Christians today are suffering. Know that your Lord and Savior sees you too, so this is also a word of encouragement for you! Watch this powerful message from Pastor Tim Lucas, which is the fourth in a chapter-by-chapter masterclass unpacking the powerful prophecy of Revelation.A MASTERCLASS ON THE BOOK OF REVELATIONHave you ever read Revelation and wondered, “What did I just read?” The Bible's last book is filled with strange symbols and mysterious messages that confuse modern minds. In this masterclass, Pastor Tim Lucas breaks down Revelation verse-by-verse in a way that's easy-to-grasp without watering down this powerful prophecy. Prepare to have your eyes opened and faith strengthened. Yes, you can read, see, and understand Revelation! #ChristianSuffering #Revelation #LiquidChurch
Lessons from the Monarch Butterfly Recently I learned in an accidental “experiment”, how to increase the birth and release of Monarchs by twenty times the usual low number. I have a Monarch butterfly garden at our GULFPORT COMMUNITY GARDEN for three years. The "birth rate" has only been a few butterfies. Amazingly, though, here are two lessons that you can glean from this incident with a new volunteer fellow gardener: First: Don't let anyone tell you that you are WRONG especially when they first meet you! Trust in your OWN RESEARCH AND EXPERTS. Second: When working with MOTHER NATURE'S CREATIONS, if you DISCOVER a better way to IMPROVE the lives and habitat of an endangered species, SHARE your discovery with others… Listen to the podcast for the backstory. Recently, I asked my Facebook group of new coaches what topics they would like me to cover in my upcoming podcast episodes. By the way, I LOVE it when coaches like you ask me burning questions, so don't hesitate to reach out and ask me something specific. I'll answer in a solo episode or find an expert to interview.DeShawn, this episode is for you. And, it's dedicated to all coaches who want to build an online community of potential coaching clients called a leads list! Find the full transcript with links to related resources at prosperouscoach.com/174.I'll cover the goal of marketing emails, do's and don'ts, plus the top 5 quick tips for more effective emails.First …Don't Sell Coaching By EmailBeing sold to by email feels skeevy. You don't like this and neither will your audience. So, resist the temptation to sell to people who do not already know, like and trust you well. That causes unsubscribes.By the way, unsubscribes aren't all bad. Part of what's happening with unsubscribes is natural selection. Your IDEAL clients are staying and those who don't connect to your message are moving on.Building trust is the #1 reason to email your target audience. Your goal is to relate, inspire, entertain and educate. By the way, that's what you also do in a blog, podcast, videos and social posts. It's called generosity marketing and it works! If you inspire some sort of action you've succeeded. The long-term goal with email marketing is to inspire successive actions that bring your prospect closer to hiring you. Potential actions your reader might take include clicking through: · to download your lead magnet· to experience your content on your website — a blog, podcast or videoLater in an email series called a campaign you might also inspire them to sign up for an enrollment opportunity such as: · a Discovery Call· to register for free webinar or another eventBut those things aren't something you want to offer out of the blue in a one-off email. It takes a strategy. That's why it's called a campaign.Selling your services isn't at all like selling a gadget or makeup — the kinds of ads you see on social media. Coaching is a co-creative relationship and the service has a relatively high price point. Your prospects deserve a chance to talk to you or have a more personal connection before they enroll. But even then, never hard sell.Show That You Know Who You're EmailingYou can imagine that to relate, inspire, entertain and educate, first you have to understand your audience well. What makes them tick? What are the BIG problems you help them solve on the way to big goals they are struggling to achieve:Are YOU solving a big enough problem? That's a key to success. Check out episode 65 for help with that.If you haven't yet chosen a viable target audience to serve and discovered why they would seek out help and hire you, let's fix that. It's the cornerstone of everything you'll do for your coaching business.Create a Strategic and Attractive Customer JourneyNever write and send an email or series of emails without the end in mind. Welcome to episode twenty of selflove with Sharmila. It is a big celebratory episode – 20 weeks of selflove and I can say my own selflove practice has grown immensely thorough these weeks. If you are a listener of this audiocast – I would love to hear your feedback on the same and you are welcome to write to me at selflovewithsharmila@gmail.com It is one thing to indulge yourself once in a while – but it is another thing to be absolutely devoted to your own good. Basically, how to not lose interest in selflove. To mark this week, I have 20 tips for you from a galaxy of suggestions. First – Don't be too tough on yourself. Be compassionate with yourself and be thankful to yourself for all that you have put up with, ventured into, showed up for. Selflove is selfcompassion. Two – Don't limit yourself. Limiting your self starts with limiting your thoughts and narrow self-perception. Have the courage to expand your life. Three – Do not let others opinion of you, become your reality. People will often have an opinion about you from their own reality or state of thinking, Don't bother too much about that. Four - Make a daily selfcare routine and stick to it. The biggest challenge is to be able to first find a routine with all ingredients for your good and then sticking by it. It's a great idea to have green tea, but see you do so every day. Its lovely to use an aloevera face pack – to soothe your skin, but see that you do so often. Consistency is the buzzword for selfcare. Five – Eat health food – sounds like a cliché right? But this is easier said than done and we all know it. Six – Don't bother too much about what others are saying about you. Learn to focus on your own wellness. Seven – Do not try to please people. People pleasing is actually a sign of dependence and may divert you from your own goals. Eight – Do not become an approval seeker' Actually approval seekers are also people pleasers, But imagine always trying to please others in order to be approved of – will you not that way lose touch with yourself? Nine – Dress to be happy. Trying to fit is perhaps worst manifested in what we wear. Pick clothes that make you happy, every day. Ten - Be your own best friend. If you can't befriend yourself – how do you think you will be able to strike friendships? Eleven – Surround yourself with people who lift you up. People rub off on us. Surround yourself with people who make you happy. Twelve – Invest in yourself. A study course, a new book, a subscription to a great magazine – what ever may be your food for growth – invest in it. Thirteen – Stay invested in yourself. Don't give up too easily. Stay invested in yourself. Selflove is about standing by yourself all through the journey. Fourteen – Make big plans for yourself. Don't shrink you plans to make it convenient for everyone. Fifteen – Don't sell yourself short. An easy follow up of point fourteen – when you shrink yourself, you also short-sell yourself. Sixteen – be a continuous learner. There is no substitute for learning. Seventeen – Get health check ups. There can be no selflove without good health. Keep a check on your health and see whether you are doing your best to maintain it. Eighteen – Forgive the past. Don't get trapped in the bygones. Train yourself to live in the present. Nineteen – Protect your energy. Because not everyone around you will be a cheerleader for yourself love. So pick and choose interactions. Tip Twenty – keep listening to Selflove With Sharmila. That's all I have for this week – and I shall be back again with yet another episode of Selflove With Sharmila. Keep Listening.

Happy Thanksgiving to all! 2 things to keep top of mind today: First: Don't abandon healthy habits. Fill your plate with vegetables and turkey. Skip the mashed potatoes and gravy. Don't have several desserts but only several bites. Watch the alcohol. One glass of water for every alcoholic beverage. Secondly: please don't shop today. Use the time to spend with friends and family creating memories. Make sure to make some time for a gratitude practice whether you journal all the things you are grateful for or sit in a few moments of quiet reflection. Even if you are going thru a tough time, finding things in your life to be grateful for can give you a new perspective and turn your day around. We wish you a day filled with guud food, guud people and guud memories.

There’s nothing quite like watching little kids staring at wrapped-up presents under the Christmas tree. They’re so excited. They know they’re supposed to wait until Christmas to open the presents, but their curiosity about what’s inside the packages is driving them crazy! Same thing, actually, with a good curiosity headline. This kind of headline gives your prospect just enough information to keep them reading. The curiosity is like the itch that can’t be scratched any other way… than by reading your copy all the way through . Your prospect is propelled by curiosity. A quick note: Copy is powerful. You’re responsible for how you use what you hear on this podcast. Most of the time, common sense is all you need. But if you make extreme claims… and/or if you’re writing copy for offers in highly regulated industries like health, finance, and business opportunity… you may want to get a legal review after you write and before you start using your copy. My larger clients do this all the time. Now… curiosity headlines. • Why curiosity is such a powerful force. (We’ll examine a few great curiosity headlines to see what it looks like when it’s done really well.) Why: people are afraid of missing out… or becoming “less than” those who know… or not getting info that can finally help them achieve their deepest desires. Some great curiosity headlines: Old classic: Do You Make These Mistakes In English? (Maxwell Sackheim) Newer Classic: Amazing Secret Discovered by One-Legged Golfer Adds 50 Yards To Your Drives, Eliminates Hooks And Slices, And Can Slash Up To 10 Strokes (John Carlton) Recent Excellent Example: It Ain’t Sexy, But It’s Got Razor Sharp Teeth (Ben Settle, talking about hearing Doberman Dan talking about paying yourself first) • What Works and What Doesn’t Work With Curiosity Headlines - What doesn’t work – something totally off topic of your copy… or, something totally unbelievable… or, something obscure and subtle Let’s say you’re marketing a lightweight portable bicycle pump that automatically inflates your tire to the exact pressure you want. Off-topic curiosity headline that won’t work: Ancient Greek Philosophers Never Knew About ThIs Curiosity headline that won’t work: Bike Manufacturers Would KILL Me If They Knew I Was Telling You About This Obscure curiosity headline that won’t work: PSI Issues Don’t Just Exist In Clean Rooms With Air Locks What works: How To Keep Your Tires At Better Pressure Than Anyone Else In The Race! • How To Develop Your Own Winning Curiosity Headline > First: Don’t start with your product or service… and don’t start with your prospect’s curiosity. Or with some clever idea you might have. Start with your prospects themselves. What’s the problem on their mind that you’re going to explain how to solve (even if that means solving the problem by buying something that solves it)? You’ll address this problem and the solution in the copy, but jot them both down. > Now that we know the problem, let’s brainstorm a few things your prospect might want to know or know more about right off the bat – without knowing anything more than they know right now. Remember, they haven’t read your copy yet and they might not know anything about your product or company. Don’t stop with one or two things they might be curious about. See if you can come up with five or six. Maybe even eight or 10! > Third – pick the one thing you think your prospects would be most curious about if you only gave them a little information in your headline, and promised more in your copy. Then write a few headlines with that one item. A few curiosity headlines. Here are four templates to get you started: 1. What ___ know about ____ that you don’t 2. How do you _______ ? 3. New discovery shows ______ 4. The secret of ______ > Now – pick the best one – or - test a few until you find the one that works best!Download.
