Carter Smith is a queer horror icon, even if all his films aren't highlighting explicitly queer relationships. A master of depicting complex male...friendships?, he continues that trend in his new film, THE PASSENGER. And perhaps that instinct got its start watching Nightmare on Elm Street 2: Freddy's Revenge. Much has been said -- and not all of it in alignment -- about the gay subtext of Freddy's Revenge, and central to that is the performance of Mark Patton as Jesse Walsh, a young man fighting a demon he doesn't understand and can't shake (decades later, Smith would cast Patton in his film SWALLOWED). Then there's his hunky compatriot, Grady. All this and more on today's FEELING SEEN.** THE PASSENGER is out tomorrow On Demand. Also mentioned in this ep: Scream Queen! We're back! This one took a little while to come out - life has been busy. But we have a big episode to make it up to y'all. We look at an 'ivermectin influencer' who has been doing it since before it was cool. He had a heart the size of Pharlap's. That's what killed hiim. Gary Lineker equates conservative immigration rhetoric to the nazis. Godwin's law has been invoked - but idiot conservatives have got out the 'red card' and the BBC tried to cancel him in a transparently political attempt to crush dissent. Unfortunately people like Lineker and backed him and now the tories and the Beeb look like a bunch of prats. We look at the allegations made by Tara Reade that Joe Biden sexually asaulted her. Allegations of this nature must be taken seriously - but when an egregious history of dishonesty appears, it must be considered in the bigger picture. We discuss the release of Tinfoil Tales recent epiosde on Guru and Bosi and chat about Guru getting nippers cancelled....AND we talk about the gay panic that has come about since worldpride. Cookers are losing their minds and the movement is doing a hard pivot toward the bible - and serious homo/transphobia. We also have SovCits. And Pete. And Babet. Enjoy!!!
In this episode Freya and Scarlet are joined by musician Beth McCarthy where we discuss Gay Awakenings, Gay Panic and the latest in Lesbian drama. In a brazen act of anti-Christian disrespect and cultural appropriation, Edison Middle School (CUSD 200) in the formerly conservative town of Wheaton, Illinois has chosen to deface a Christian symbol that celebrates the birth of Christ. The DuPage Policy Journal reported that Edison is prominently displaying a full-size rainbow-colored “gay pride” Christmas tree during the Christmas season in honor of homoeroticism. Originally, the tree also included handmade pink ornaments with the messages “Be Gay Be Slay” and *Gay Panic*. For those not up to date on the sloganeering of the cult of homoeroticism, “Gay panic” refers to a legal defense in which a man claims a kind of temporary insanity for an act of violence committed against another man due to allegedly unwanted homoerotic advances. A Christmas ornament with that slogan is mocking such a legal defense. Both the principal, Rachel Bednar, and superintendent, Jeff Schuler approve of this offense against Christians. Read more...

1962, the basement flat at 17 Pembroke Court in West Kensington was owned by George Brinham; a respected trade unionist and chairman of the Labour Party, who was hailed as a Prime Minister in the making. And yet, there is no blue plaque to George Brinham. Some might say this was down to his political affiliations, others might imply it was owing to his love life, but maybe it's simply down to a scandal which on Saturday 17th November 1962, led to his murder. But why was George Brinham killed, and did a quirk of the law let his murderer go free?Murder Mile is researched, written and performed by Michael of Murder Mile Walks with the main musical themes written and performed by Erik Stein and Jon Boux of Cult With No Name and additional music, as used under the Creative Commons License 4.0. In the 1920s through the 1960s indecent proposals, indecent advances, and honor slayings were all buzzwords used to explain one man's rationale for killing another. The handsome singer Louis Kenneth Neu murdered two men for their clothes, their cars, their cash, and his honor. When 35-year-old Lawrence Shead didn't arrive for work his Patterson, New Jersey colleagues went to his apartment. They found Mr. Shead dead on his bed. His suits, shoes, cash, and car were missing. Neighbors and friends reported Shead had a guest for a views days. As police pursued this guest they would find they were several steps behind as Lious Kenneth Neu had ditched Shead's black and yellow coupe escaping by train to New Orleans. In the lobby of the luxurious Jung Hotel Neu thought he'd hit the jackpot when he met a wealthy man from Tennessee. When he was finally caught and put on trial questions about Neu's mental health would be central as would his need to keep himself, the court, and the press entertained right up to the end. Two cases attempt to employ the contentious “gay panic” defense to wildly different results. After two hookups go sideways, a gay man and transgender woman are murdered. But what is the difference between these two killings and the trials that came after? Why are we still using the "gay panic” defense in the court of law? And is using this defense its own type of hate crime if it further persecutes members of the LGBTQ community? Host Daryn Carp is joined by scholar Dr. Warren Carsten Andresen to discuss the gay and trans panic defense and how it is still used today. For even more true crime, head to discovery+. On May 22nd, 2013, Dr Louis Heyns disappeared while driving the 50km route between his and his brother's home. According to his family, he had to have been hijacked because it made no sense from him to have been where his body was discovered: A notorious gay cruising spot in Strand, 5km out of his way. His killers insisted that he had approached them, seeking sex, but his family insist that he was straight and would have never engaged the services of a rentboy.
