We also discuss Jesse Minter officially becoming the head coach of the Baltimore Ravens and his potential offensive coordinator hires. Brian Flores signed an extension to remain with the Vikings if he doesn't become a head coach, but does that take him out of the running for the Steelers? We then discuss the shape the roster was left in for Cowher as opposed to Tomlin and the shape the current one is in for the next guy. We talked about the NFL Today Hangover skit and Gio said COWHER was not a great actor. Jerry is here for another update and starts with the final TD as heard on Niners radio. Phil Simms' pick before the game was very confusing. Rex Ryan disputed Adam Schefter's story about the Cowboys hiring Mike Zimmer as defensive coordinator. In the final segment of the hour, the Brock Purdy questions have been answered. He played well enough to cement himself as their quarterback. Purdy has a great contract which favors the Niners. The McCaffrey fumble on the first drive set the tone for the game. But if the Niners won, McCaffrey would have been the MVP with the combined rushing and receiving yardage. In the final segment of the hour, Gio said today will be a big Mahomes ass kissing day, well deserved of course. Jordan, Kobe, Brady and now Mahomes. Boomer has some Mahomes stats for us.

Hour 1 The Chiefs are now in the middle of a dynasty after beating the Niners. Patrick Mahomes stuck a dagger right into the hearts of Niners fans and Kyle SHANAHAN. Gio said he's lost his identity being out in Las Vegas for so long. We all loved Usher's halftime show. The Niners defense was flying around which kept it low scoring the first three quarters. Boomer said nobody is playing quarterback like Mahomes right now. He can always find a way. Boomer said if he won the coin toss in overtime, he would have deferred instead of taking the ball like SHANAHAN did. The Chiefs did not score a lot of points in the playoffs but managed to get through everybody. Jerry is here for his first update of the day, but first we're concerned about this snow storm back at home. We have not been paying attention while here in Vegas. Jerry has the game winning TD as called by Kevin Harlan. Some of the players seemed confused by the playoff overtime rules. Kyle SHANAHAN talked about his decision to take the ball in OT instead of deferring. Mahomes wants a three-peat next year. Ochocinco was going to give up eating McDonalds, get a divorce and give up sex if the Chiefs lost. In the final segment of the hour, Al said he was sitting with riff raff and couldn't believe people paid that much for tickets. Taylor Swift was in a box and was seen talking to Roger GOODELL. Boomer thinks this will be the highest rated Super Bowl ever.  Hour 2 Gio, Al and Eddie went to the NFL tailgate and Gwen Stefani performed. Gio also detailed our exit out of the stadium where an angel from heaven helped us get from one hotel to a parking lot to get picked up. Stephen Waldron of CBS Sports has a lot of nervous energy in public, and it was on full display when he golfed with us. Stephen also does a cough thing to release nervous energy when things get awkward. Jerry is back for another update and starts with Jim NANTZ'S call of the game winning TD by the Chiefs. Mecole Hardman said he blacked out after making the catch. Travis KELCE sang Viva Las Vegas after the game. Mahomes won the MVP again. Kyle SHANAHAN explained why he took the ball first in overtime. Kevin Harlan does play by play of the streaker running on the field. Tony ROMO made a Hulk Hogan reference and sang Adele into break. The Waste Management in Phoenix was a drunken mess with hecklers fighting with golfers. In the final segment of the hour, Gio was on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown with Randy Moss to discuss Al booking the other Randy Moss.  Hour 3 Right now there are way too many people involved in our luggage getting to the airport. Jerry starts with the winning TD as heard on Chiefs radio (they were excited). Mahomes is talking about a three-peat for next season. Hour 1 The Super Bowl matchup is set between the Chiefs and Niners. Chiefs/Ravens was an incredible physical game. Gio swore he would never bet against Mahomes again, and yet he took the Ravens. Mahomes is the undisputed king. He is impossible to topple. He's like a surgeon. Lamar Jackson threw a terrible pick in the end zone in the fourth quarter. Travis Kelce had his best game ever. Gio said Patrick Mahomes made Travis Kelce and Andy Reid immortal. The Ravens had a ton of terrible penalties which killed them. The Lions twice went for it on 4th down and failed, when they could have gone for field goals. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with the audio of Zay Flowers fumbling at the goal line resulting in a touchback. Mahomes talked about all the big plays from Kelce. John Harbaugh said he told the team to walk out of the stadium with their heads held high. Lamar Jackson talked about the turnovers. Jerry also has audio from the Niners win over the Lions and the Brandon Aiyuk catch off the Lions' defender's helmet. Christian McCaffrey talked about the elite Brock Purdy. Dan Campbell talked about the disappointment of losing to the Niners. In the final segment of the hour, SNL did a skit about the NFL Today but left out Boomer. And why did the lights go out on CBS during the halftime show? Boomer was told somebody tripped over a wire and pulled it out of the socket.  Hour 2 Unfortunately Boomer did not run into Taylor Swift in Baltimore. Boomer did run into Jim Harbaugh and told Boomer he hears his sports minutes sometimes. Boomer said there was a tense moment at the train station last night leaving Baltimore on the Amtrak Acela. There was one ‘asswipe douchebag' who approached Boomer, Nate and Cowher. He was telling them the NFL is rigged. Coach Cowher was getting into it with the guy. Boomer wonders why Gio is fascinated with Kadarius.  Hour 3 Boomer wonders if Travis Kelce will propose to Taylor Swift if they win the Super Bowl. Gio thinks CBS would pay for the private plane to get her there from Tokyo. We talked about Usher being the halftime show and who the special guests could be (not Taylor Swift). We also talked about the early spread in the Super Bowl. We talked about the disparity in paychecks between Patrick Mahomes and Brock Purdy. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about the Super Bowl halftime show with Katy Perry and the left shark that wasn't dancing properly. Boomer then said he knows that he (Boomer) is obsessed with the Taylor Swift stuff. Gio said Patrick Mahomes is responsible for Andy Reid being a great coach and Travis Kelce dating Taylor Swift. He put them both right in the Hall of Fame. Without Mahomes, Kelce would just be a regular tight end. Jerry returned for an update but first Boomer invited us to a watch event in Vegas where we have to wear nice clothes. Jerry has all the sounds from the Chiefs/Ravens game including Lamar Jackson, who talked about the turnovers they had in key spots. Dan Campbell talked about being crushed by the loss. Hour 1 Gio had a ‘perma-smile' on his face watching the Knicks beat the Nets at what felt like a Knicks home game in Brooklyn. The Milwaukee Bucks fired their head coach Adrian Griffin, even though they were 30-13. Their defense has not been very good and they wanted a veteran coach so they are bringing in Doc Rivers. We are seeing the best version of Julius Randle right now and it's all thanks to Jalen Brunson. Gio was invited by the afternoon show to go to last night's game but his wife is sick so he had to stay home. He would have loved to see the Nets lose while sitting next to Evan Roberts. Jerry is here for his first update and wants the Nets to move someplace where people will care about them. Jerry was disgusted by their performance. Jerry is annoyed by Boomer's hatred of the Nets. Boomer said if he's on the air for another 17 years, by then the Nets will be extinct. Jerry has the sound from last night's battle in Brooklyn. Shannon Sharpe to Ochocinco: ‘that's why your head looks like shaved monkey nuts'. In the final segment of the hour, Ochocinco used to call Marvin Lewis in the middle of the night just to say ‘I'm open' and then he would hang up. Gio tells the story of an obese woman who bought 2 seats on the plane and another passenger wanted to put her baby there.  Hour 2 Sauce Gardner wants Calvin Ridley and Tee Higgins on the Jets. At least that's what he said on Twitter. I wonder how that will sit with the wide receivers in the locker room. Boomer said it creates unnecessary drama. The Giants need playmakers, and a lot of them. What will the Giants do with their pick at 6? There are rumors that Tyreek Hill filed for divorce after just 76 days. He claims it's not true, but public records say it is. Boomer wonders if Tyreek is turning into Antonio Brown. Jerry returns for another update and starts with the Knicks beating the Nets in Brooklyn. The Milwaukee Bucks fired their head coach, Adrian Griffin, and Doc Rivers is expected to take over. Stephen A. Smith was on with Howard Stern and he wants to debate Donald Trump. Chris Russo talked about ‘wee wee's in the middle of the night'. Aaron Boone was on with Evan and Tiki yesterday. He wants Giancarlo Stanton to change his body type. In the final segment of the hour, Gio went through a lot of trouble to be able to do the Lil' Dicky Show for somebody at Audacy, and it was canceled at the last minute.  Hour 3 Boomer & Gio have a chalk talk event with Bill Cowher at Teller's tomorrow night. The town is abuzz with talk of Cowher maybe stopping by the Portly Villager beforehand. A caller wants us to have billboards for the show. Another caller said Lil' Dicky was at the Lakers game when he was supposed to be talking to Gio. Another caller wants Jeff Van Gundy to coach the Nets. Jerry returns for an update but first we talked about Billy Joel releasing a new song on February 1. Billy Joel's house is for sale for $49 million. We remembered the virtual Boomer & Gio BBQ we gave away during covid. Jerry starts with the Knicks beating the Nets in what felt like a Knicks home game in Brooklyn. The Bucks fired Adrian Griffin and it's looking like Doc Rivers will replace him. Jerry has clips from the Kelce brothers podcast and Jason's wife asked him to behave in front of Taylor Swift. John Harbaugh wants the fans to be loud. Is Belichick to the Falcons gaining or losing momentum? In the final segment of the hour, reports are the Chargers are within striking distance of signing Jim Harbaugh. The thing that could be holding up Belichick to the Falcons could be how much of the staff and front office Belichick wants to blow out.  Hour 4 Last night the Knicks beat the Nets and it felt like a home game for the Knicks in Brooklyn. Gio loves the rivalry now because it's dominated by the Knicks, after Nets fans got cocky when they got Kevin Durant a few years back. This is always going to be a Knicks town. Has to be 95% Knicks fans and 5% Nets around here. The Knicks have made regular season basketball exciting again. And they're doing it consistently. We then talked about the times when Gio would go to the NFL draft when it was in NYC. Jerry is here for his final update of the day and starts with the sounds of the Knicks beating the Nets in Brooklyn. Aaron Boone was on with Evan and Tiki and he talked about Giancarlo Stanton's body composition. He was also asked about Brian Cashman's rant where he was dropping F-bombs. We also talked about how cool it must be to be Boomer at WFAN. The Moment of The Day involves Stephen A. Smith's wanting to debate Donald Trump. In the final segment of the show, there's an odd story out of Kansas City where friends were watching the Chiefs game. Some went outside and died, maybe due to the cold. The guy who lived there was sleeping on his couch for 2 days before realizing his friends were dead outside. We also took a call about Jalen Brunson and the Knicks

Bill Cowher joins us to talk about Bill Belichick officially being out in New England. Cowher said he needs to go to a place with a QB and speed on offense, as he can take care of the defense on his own. Would Belichick go to the west coast and the Chargers? Cowher thinks the Atlanta job is the most appealing because of the division. They do need a quarterback though. He said you need to win your division as it gives you a home playoff game. Cowher doesn't think Pete Carroll will take another coaching job. He thinks he will take a front office job with Seattle. He doesn't see him going to the Chargers. Gio said the Rooneys hate Belichick and would never bring him in. Cowher doesn't agree with that but also said Mike Tomlin isn't going anywhere. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with Bill Belichick, out in New England. Carroll is ‘freaking jacked, not worn down' and ready to go. David Stearns said Harrison Bader will play regularly in center field. Stephen A. Smith went all in on Jason Whitlock and Jerry has the audio. Gio does not want the Yankees to bring in Marcus Stoman, saying he's a slug. Pat McAfee is ‘pumped' to be done with the Aaron Rodgers segments. The Moment of The Day involves Drew Barrymore calling into the show. In the final segment of the show, Buddy Harrelson passed away at the age of 79. Michael Strahan's 19 year old daughter is fighting a brain tumor.
