What's going on here?! Disney's 2025 movie lineup, except for Avatar 3, is predicted to be massive bombs by gaming journalists, with Snow White and Captain America 4 expected to fail. Stacy Henley from The Gamer led a charge to boycott Hogwarts Legacy and called JK Rowling names during a debate with Clownfish TV freelancer JakeJames Lugo on the BBC. Minecraft creator Notch hinted at a potential "spiritual successor" to the game, which could surpass the original. Captain America: Brave New World faces controversy due to a domestic abuse case, undergoing re-shoots with a reported budget of $400 million. It's happening, ARGonauts! Nintendo is playing coy, but we are pretty sure the N64 Classic is going to happen soon. The Koalition's Jakejames Lugo comes back on to discuss what will be on the mini console as well as what SHOULD should be on it. Before I began to write about video games I had a certain image of what being a video games writer was all about. Some of my long held beliefs about the people who work in the industry and how things were supposed to be done were quickly shattered when I got on the other side of the fence and saw how things really worked. This subject is what constitutes our main topic for this week. We discuss some of the things we thought we knew about what it was like to be a video games writer and compare those views to what it's actually like actually being one. Since this is the 175th episode of the podcast I wanted to make it special by having two guests. JakeJames Lugo from The Koalition and Yamilia Avendaño from Twinfinite joined us and definitely gave the show that special "pop" that I wanted it to have. I look up to these two as fellow writers so it was great to have them on the show to share some of their insights and crack some fun jokes along the way. Aside from the main topic we also discuss some of the original content posted this week including my interview with the men behind the music of Wolfenstein: The New Order and my review of Drakengard 3 (which inspired the main topic). We also talk about some of the more notable gaming news from the past week as well as list the new game releases and what we've been playing. We also have new intro and outro songs which were produced by Shawn Daley. Shawn is a comic book artist who also creates amazing chiptunes pieces. I hope you guys enjoy the new songs as much as I do.
