Welcome back to Constellation, Last Stand Media's conversational podcast. This week, Colin Moriarty slips into the host's chair, and is joined by his wife, Punching Up co-host Micah Moriarty, and the Defining Dukes themselves, MrMattyPlays and Lord Cognito. As usual, the topics are varied. Considering the makeup of the cast today, Colin kicks things off with an inquiry into Xbox's catastrophic hardware situation. Can the brand survive as-is while selling fewer than a million units a quarter? Inspired by his new multimedia YouTube project, Matty wants to talk about new ventures we've undertaken, or perhaps still plan to in the future. Leaping off of that is Cog, who recounts important milestones in his life, and wonders which moments are truly the most important in getting us to our respective today. Finally, Micah wraps things up with one of her great passions: The grill. It turns out that no matter what Micah's doing, she'd Rather Be Grilling. HCJustin (Twitch streamer) joins the show for the first time to tell us about being a beta tester for the Sims Online as a teenager....and immediately getting banned from the game. We also relive our teenage days with some deep talk about Spencer's Gifts (there's still over 600 locations!), Justin explains his insane sub-a-thons, and we chat about birth certificates, taxes, and while explaining "normal mode" on Go Off Kings, we learn what the most common sound alerts are on Twitch. Guess what? They all suck! Plus, Justin introduces us to TikTok's "Mine Lady", Peep This Out starts a Rumble account, and John goes viral with his tweet about Emma Stone and Jeopardy!. If you want to feel less like you're in jeopardy, why not donate to the show? It'll relieve all of that stress and help support your favourite Blocked Boys. And for $5/month, you also get THREE bonus episodes every month! Last week, our good friend Josh Custodio joined us to discuss Stefan getting blocked by Colin Moriarty, and this week, our D&D series with YKS continues. Plus! We introduced our new $100 Club perks, so check those out! The $100 Club comes with ad-free episodes, all bonus episodes with video, and a chance to win your sub back! Which console does David Jaffe think is the best? And how does he feel about others taking control of the God of War-franchise? Get all the answers here! Listen in to this episode of the Arkaden Podcast, where we're visited by none other than David Jaffe. David Jaffe is a legendary video game developer, and the creator behind some of PlayStation's biggest franchises: God of War and Twisted Metal. But after his last game, Drawn to Death from 2017, he left video game development behind. He has since become a content creator on YouTube, and a prominent commentator on the video games industry. We have an enormous amount of respect for David Jaffe, and it is a great honor for us to have him visit us. It was a total riot! He talks a lot, he's funny and not at all to be controlled! While we cover many exciting topics, and the conversation goes to a lot of places we didn't exect it to, we don't get to talk about everything we had prepared. Fortunately, this just gives us all the more reason to have him come back another time. David Jaffe shares his opinions on: - Xbox vs PlayStation - Are games too expensive to produce? - God of War 2018 and Ragnarok - What is it like, to see one's own "creative" child being carried on by others? - Why has the industry turned its back on Colin Moriarty? - Why doesn't he want to make video games anymore? - Was Drawn to Death ahead of its time? - What was it like to work for Sony? - Could he think of making games again? - Denmark vs USA And much, much more. We hope you enjoy our conversation with David Jaffe. Thank you so much for listening.

Sports flicks are beloved the world over for their relatable characters, uplifting stories, and remarkable endings. Disney's 1992 live-action hockey movie The Mighty Ducks is certainly no exception, though -- more than 30 years later -- there are a few bits that may not have gotten through the goalie (pardon the pun). The reality is this: The Mighty Ducks is arguably the greatest hockey movie ever, and one of the greatest children's sports films of all-time. It's also a movie that happens to be very near-and-dear to one Colin Moriarty's heart, what with his love of hockey and all. He was a third grader just beginning his youth hockey career when The Mighty Ducks hit theaters, and needless to say, it was formative. Quack. Quack. Quack! Learn more about your ad choices. On this week's episode, Sonny broaches the topic of China and gaming with Colin Moriarty, founder and CEO of Last Stand Media, the world's most popular fan-funded games podcast network, co-host of Sacred Symbols: A PlayStation Podcast, and 20-year veteran of the gaming industry. Colin has firsthand experience in this realm as a game developer and relays a pretty interesting story about the chilling effect China can have on the art of gaming. Beyond that, there's much to consider about the dangers of mergers and consolidation. Does the government have a role to play in keeping Chinese Communist Party-controlled firms like Tencent from dominating the gaming space? Should the Committee on Foreign Investment in the United States play a firmer role? These are some of the questions we ask, but don't necessarily have answers for, on this week's episode. Microsoft -- as it's wont to do -- just went and spent a bunch of money on a publisher. But this is no ordinary publisher or forgettable amount of money: By buying Activision-Blizzard for a record $68.7 billion, Xbox now controls some of the industry's most vital IP and studios, including the king of them all, Call of Duty, and its constellation of developers, including Infinity Ward and Treyarch. Yet, Microsoft's bullish move will likely set off an even-further damaging series of mergers and acquisitions that remove risk for certainty and eliminates creativity for volume. It amounts to a very stupid arms race that everyone else will be compelled to compete in, whether they want to or not, and there's only one entity to blame. Then: Release dates for Ghostwire Tokyo, LEGO Star Wars: The Skywalker Saga, and WWE 2K22 have emerged, God of War does big numbers on PC, Sony renews trademarks related to defunct first party team Psygnosis, and more. Then: Listener inquiries! What's our temperature on Horizon: Forbidden West less than a month away from launch? Are we not keeping an open enough mind when it comes to the possibilities of gaming NFTs? Will Sony botch the little things that could make Project Spartacus shine? - Playstation está preparando un servicio análogo al Game Pass. Según documentos filtrados por fuentes internas de Sony, el servicio integraría PS Plus y PS Now incluyendo juegos de todas las generaciones de Playstation. - Activision Blizzard no formará parte de The Game Awards 2021.

We specifically tried to record this when we both had to go meet up our own friends and family so we wouldn't talk for too long. Well the episode is 3 hours and we were both late to meet our own loved ones. Oops. In the first episode since I popped too hard off into a void about Nier Gestalt and Replicant and spoiled v1.2 last month, Dorian and I discuss sure, I guess movies and games and shows but when I write these, I highlight the inane topics mentioned like why a podcast about steelbooks might not work in audio format, how Dorian lost a toenail to Hideo Kojima and didn't sue for damages, and our list of shilling for this episode is Colin Moriarty, The Game is Fun podcast and The Sonder Bombs. If anyone wants to sponsor me, I'll start giving you better scores. Oh yeah, scores are back. In this episode of The Backlog, Char and Erica welcome guests @TheAshenLuca and @themelodicpunk! They discuss Returnal impressions one week later, including the issues the game is having with broken patches and continuing glitches. Melodic and Luca talk about their struggles with Returnal's difficulty and how they feel about the game in general. The group also discusses game journalists claiming that they shouldn't have to be good at or beat games to review them, as well as Colin Moriarty's comments on the matter. Erica follows up the discussion with a question for the group: what games did you feel one way about and then by the end of the game, their opinions changed? It's safe for you to assume that the group agreed that games should be beaten before reviewing! The podcast ends with a discussion about Halo Infinite and the pressure for it to be good.
