In today's Daily Fix:Dead Space's original co-creator wants another crack at the franchise. Glen Schofield, who worked on the original Dead Space, thinks it's possible a new entry in the series could happen in light of the industry-shaking EA buyout. In fact, according to Schofield, he's already been making calls to try and make a fourth Dead Space happen. In other news, Quantic Dream has announced a new 3v3 multiplayer game called Spellcasters Chroncles. Quantic Dream is mainly known for single-player narratives like Detroit: Become Human and Heavy Rain. They also have Star Wars Eclipse still in development, although it's been years since they've shown off anything from that game. And finally, legendary and controversial game designer Tomonobu Itagaki has passed away at age 58. He left a final message on his Facebook page, which was posted in the event of his death. Itagaki was behind the Ninja Gaiden revival in 2004 and the fighting game franchise Dead or Alive. His last game as a director was Devil's Third for the Nintendo Wii U.

Games is making big cuts, closing three studios — Monolith Productions, Player First Games, and WB Games San Diego — and cancelling its long-in-development Wonder Woman game, the publisher told employees on Tuesday. All projects from those studios have been canceled. NetEase began its cuts late last year, with layoffs and studio closures at Mass Effect veteran Mac Walters' new studio Worlds Untold, Halo Infinite design boss Jerry Hook's team at Jar of Sparks, and more recently at Liquid Sword, the company founded by the creator of Just Cause. Quantic Dream, the NetEase-owned developer behind Heavy Rain, Detroit and the upcoming Star Wars Eclipse has broken its silence following the layoffs and shutdowns seen across numerous other NetEase-supported studios. In a statement posted on LinkedIn, Quantic Dream CEO Guillaume de Fondaumière said the studio's teams had not been impacted by NetEase's dramatic cuts, and were "continuing to develop our projects at full pace". In today's Daily Fix: Quantic Dream's Star Wars: Eclipse still doesn't have a release date—or really any more details since dropping that teaser trailer two years ago—and now the game could face another setback: the loss of its lead writer. Adam Williamson, who was also the lead writer on Detroit: Become Human, announced on LinkedIn that he's leaving Quantic Dream and forming his own studio. Quantic Dream confirmed the game "still exists" but that's all we have, for now. In other news, the Epic Games Store is now available on mobile, and PlayStation Plus is getting a cool indie game on day one next month.
