Is Nintendo SPYING On You? Nintendo collects your phone number AND will record your audio and video to use the new Game Chat feature. We'll talk about that and the digital foundry spec sheet that was released recently.

Nintendo has announced a June 5 launch date and a $449.99 price tag for its latest gaming console, the Switch 2, which will introduce interactive chat and screen share functions to connect gamers. The company revealed a more vibrant display on the Switch 2, a larger screen and several games that will launch with the console. A select group of gamers got their hands on the latest Nintendo Switch console at an event in New York. Central to its updated system is a new “C” button on its Joy-Con controller, which will launch a new “GameChat” feature that requires a subscription to Nintendo's Switch Online service. It allows players to “communicate with friends and family while playing a game,” and lets them share their game screen with others. A built-in microphone will also allow chatting with other gamers. Perhaps the most contemporary function yet for the Switch 2 is the ability to use the Joy-Con controllers like a computer mouse. The developer displayed multiple ways to use the new function, such as angling a club in a golf game. “Be able to see your friends, hear your friends play with them all on the same screen. Being able to use the Joy-Cons as a computer mouse, which is pretty cool. Shoot a basketball, cast spells in Hogwarts Legacy, all sorts of fun new things with that computer mouse," says Ryan Kryska, a reporter for The Associated Press. The new console will be backward compatible—able to play physical and digital Switch games—but users will need to purchase a microSD express memory card for the Switch 2. The presentation revealed that normal microSD cards will not be compatible with the system. However, data from the original Switch can be transferred to the new console. The Switch 2's launch price is significantly higher than the original Switch's $299 price tag. The Trump administration's tariffs have hit the video game console industry at a fragile moment, analysts say. The tariffs impact game hardware because console devices are manufactured and shipped from China and that region at large. This article was provided by The Associated Press.

C'est officiel ! Après des mois de rumeurs et d'analyses, Nintendo lève enfin le voile sur sa nouvelle console. La Nintendo Switch 2 débarquera le 5 juin 2025, avec une ambition claire : poursuivre l'héritage d'une machine vendue à 150 millions d'exemplaires, rien de moins que la troisième console la plus populaire de tous les temps.Mais qui dit nouvelle génération dit aussi hausse de prix. La version de base sera commercialisée à 469,99€, et un pack incluant Mario Kart World en version numérique grimpera à 509,99€. Les précommandes ouvriront dès le 8 avril. La Nintendo Switch 2 se dote d'un écran de 7,9 pouces, affichant du 1080p en 120 images/seconde avec compatibilité HDR. Une avancée notable pour une console hybride. Côté connectique, deux ports USB-C font leur apparition, et l'espace de stockage interne grimpe à 256 Go, avec une lecture plus rapide. Petite contrainte toutefois : seuls les cartes microSD Express seront compatibles.Le nouveau dock permet de jouer sur un téléviseur en Ultra HD 4K (2160p), une première pour une console Nintendo. Il intègre aussi un ventilateur, conçu pour assurer des performances optimales. Grande nouveauté : la fonction GameChat, qui permet de discuter avec d'autres joueurs directement depuis la console grâce à un micro intégré avec réduction de bruit. Autre innovation, les joy-con magnétiques, offrant une prise en main améliorée et un mode souris pour certains jeux. Un bouton C dédié au chat fait aussi son apparition. Bonne nouvelle pour les joueurs : la Nintendo Switch 2 sera rétrocompatible avec la plupart des jeux de la première génération. Autrement dit, vous pourrez relancer votre Breath of the Wild sans souci. Mais bien sûr, de nouveaux titres exclusifs arrivent, à commencer par Mario Kart World, un jeu plus ouvert et jouable jusqu'à 24 joueurs.Parmi les autres jeux annoncés :Elden Ring, Street Fighter 6, FC 25, Hogwarts Legacy (avec contrôle de la baguette via les joy-con), Cyberpunk 2077, Final Fantasy VII Remake, Borderlands 4 et Civilization VII.À l'image des consoles concurrentes, Nintendo proposera des mises à jour optimisées pour ses anciens titres. Zelda Breath of the Wild et Tears of the Kingdom profiteront ainsi d'un meilleur framerate, du HDR et d'une meilleure résolution.
