I can also tease he won't be going back alone.” Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/02/24/spoiler-room-arrow-shield-blacklist/   Arrow's Stephen Amell addresses idea of Dinah-Oliver romance (Date: 28 Feb 2017) After the shocking death of Laurel Lance (Katie Cassidy), some fans of the comics were disheartened by the fact that Oliver (Stephen Amell) would not end up with the Black Canary — in the comics, Oliver married Dinah Laurel Lance, the character portrayed by Cassidy on Arrow. That all changed when Juliana Harkavy was added to the cast as Dinah Drake, otherwise known in the comics as the first Black Canary. However, that doesn't necessarily mean there will be a Green Arrow-Black Canary romance, especially considering the show has never been beholden to the comics. “The idea that Oliver would end up with the Black Canary being Katie Cassidy or any new iteration thereof? To me, it could happen, it could not, but it's certainly not destined to happen or predesigned to happen,” Amell tells EW. Teri Hatcher has already been confirmed to debut later this season in an as-yet unspecified villain role.It doesn't take much to connect those dots, and arise at the natural question: Will “Supergirl” feature an on-screen reunion between Cain and Hatcher, who starred in “Lois & Clark: The New Adventures of Superman” from 1993 to 1997?  “We'd love to,” “Supergirl” executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said of a Cain/Hatcher scene on “Supergirl.” “There's a plan — if we can execute the plan.”   Link:http://www.cbr.com/supergirl-dean-cain-teri-hatcher-lois-and-clark-reunion/   EP HOPES FOR ‘TRUE FOUR-WAY' ARROWVERSE CROSSOVER (Date: 24 Feb 2017) For the next full-scale Arrowverse crossover — which is tradition holds, will likely be in the fall — the creative forces behind the show are hoping to fully involve all four series, according to Andrew Kreisberg, an executive producer on each one of the shows. With the early renewals, Kreisberg explained, the shows can take advantage of pre-planned off-days in production to accommodate the cast members who are appearing on multiple shows in a short time, something that was particularly difficult last year with “Supergirl,” since series lead Melissa Benoist appeared in both a normal episode of her show, and then as a guest on “The Flash,” ‘Arrow' and ‘Legends.' ‘Supergirl' was the show we needed to shut down the most, and it was the one we didn't have any opportunity to,” Kreisberg said. “So now that we've gotten the early pick up and we've started designing the seasons, we're building in those dark days — and actually more dark days on ‘Supergirl' than the other shows — to make it a little easier.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/andrew-kreisberg-hopes-four-way-arrowverse-crossover-supergirl-flash-arrow-legends/    ‘Black Lightning' Finds Its Lead: Cress Williams Cast As Jefferson In the CW Pilot (Date: 24 Feb 2017) Hart of Dixie alum Cress Williams is back at the CW as the title character in Black Lightning, the network's DC drama pilot from Greg Berlanti, king of the CW's DC universe, and the Being Mary Jane duo of Mara Brock Akil and Salim Akil. Link:http://deadline.com/2017/02/black-lightning-cress-williams-cast-jefferson-cw-pilot-1201971415/    ‘Black Lightning': Nafessa Williams & China Anne McClain To Star As Jefferson's Daughters In the CW Pilot (Date: 02 March 2017) Nafessa Williams (Code Black) and China Anne McClain (House of Payne) have landed leads opposite Cress Williams in Black Lightning, the CW's DC drama pilot.McCain plays Jefferson's younger daughter, the teenage Jennifer Piere, an independent, outspoken scholar-athlete with a wild streak of her own. Williams is Anissa Pierce — passionate and quick-witted, Jefferson's twenty-something daughter balances the demands of medical school with her job teaching part-time at her father's school. In the DC comics, Anissa and Jennifer follow in their father's footsteps and become superheroes, taking on the names of Thunder and Lightning, respectively.   Link:http://deadline.com/2017/03/black-lightning-daughters-cast-nafessa-williams-china-anne-mcclain-cw-pilot-1202034638/   Supergirl Producer Talks Earth-38 Arrowverse Dopplegangers (Date: 27 Feb 2017) Supergirl's setting on an alternate Earth (Earth 38 to be specific) already placed it within the DC TV Multiverse - yet we haven't run into dopplegangers of DC TV characters from Earth's 1 and 2. That's something of interesting flaw in continuity, so will it be something that Supergirl will address? According to executive producer Andrew Kriesberg: it won't be. According to Kriesberg, “the problem with that is if we do that once, we're going to open the floodgates of insanity." According to Kriesberg, it would take “a really good story” for Supergirl to get alternate versions of Barry or Oliver on the show; or conversly, an alternate version of Kara on Earth 1. In short: it would have to be an event. Link:http://comicbook.com/2017/02/27/supergirl-earth-38-dopplegangers-flash-arrow-legends/   IRIS WEST WILL HAVE A KEY ROLE IN FLASH/SUPERGIRL MUSICAL EPISODE (Date: 01 March 2017) Co-showrunner Aaron Helbing revealed that Iris West (Candice Patton) will have a big part to play in the adventure. “She plays a pretty key role in the musical episode. The story really centers around Iris,” said Helbing. “Aside from Barry and Kara, Iris plays a huge role in the musical.” The episode will also feature songs from “Crazy Ex-Girlfriend's” Rachel Bloom and the “La La Land” songwriting duo of Benj Pasek and Justin Paul. Link:http://www.cbr.com/iris-west-flash-supergirl-musical-episode/   Supergirl taps iZombie star as potential DC villain (Date: 01 March 2017) Rahul Kohli, who plays medical examiner Dr. Ravi Chakrabarti on The CW zombie series, will play Jack Spheer, a charismatic tech genius who has spent decades working on a medical innovation that will eradicate major illnesses and change the face of the world – if it works. In the comics, Spheer's invention mutated him into the villain known as Biomax, who had the power of mind control. It's unclear whether his character on the show will follow the same path. Kohli will appear in episode 18, titled “Ace Reporter,” which executive producer Andrew Kreisberg recently revealed will heavily feature Kara's journalism side. Link:http://ew.com/tv/2017/03/01/supergirl-rahul-kohli-izombie/   ARROW CAST & CREW NEWS ARROW'S LEXA DOIG EXPLAINS WHAT MAKES TALIA AL GHUL A TRUE BADASS (Date: 01 March 2017) A lethal assassin in her own right, in DC Comics' lore, Talia has been an ally, a lover and an enemy to Batman. As there is no Batman in the Arrowvrse, this Talia instead finds herself involved with Green arrow. This season, it's been revealed that she was the one who rescued Oliver from Ishmael Gregor and then proceeded to push him into fulfilling his destiny. Talia has trained Oliver, but she's also an al Ghul. Can she be trusted? Does the apple fall far from the psychotic family tree? Doig recently spoke with CBR about making Talia a badass, mentoring Oliver, her possible connections to Prometheus and the inevitable showdown with Nyssa. Link:http://www.cbr.com/interview-arrow-lexa-doig-talia-al-ghul/   ARROW'S PROMETHEUS SPEAKS OUT ABOUT HIS STUNNING IDENTITY REVEAL (Date: 01 March 2017) Speaking to CBR and other reporters, Segarra opened up about his role as Prometheus and how he balanced Adrian Chase's two very different identities. He also shared some stories about how and when he learned about the big twist, as well as why he studied up on Vigilante before arriving in Vancouver to start filming Season 5. “I'm telling them, ‘Oh, I'm playing this guy… I don't really know too much about him, but who knows? It'll be fun, right?' And then they announced Adrian Chase: Vigilante. And I'm like, ‘Oh my gosh, I'm playing Vigilante!' So now, I get to Vancouver, I think I'm playing this guy Vigilante. That's who everybody thought, right? So I start reading ‘Vigilante' comics and reading about Chase and reading about the history of these guys. Then I get to work and I'm talking to Marc. I'm like, ‘Marc, man, I'm really doing my research. I'm really being studious about this Vigilante guy.' And he's like, ‘What do you mean?' And I'm like, ‘Oh, dude, you announced it finally! I'm going to be a great Adrian Chase: Vigilante!' And he says, ‘That's not who you're playing.' ‘What?!' He's like, ‘Yeah, you're playing this guy.' And that's when they took me out on the city and they told me everything. So, to put it this way, me and my wife and my doggie, we moved over to Vancouver thinking one thing and it was revealed once I got here who I was actually playing. That whole journey began at that moment. I feel I'll always look back and laugh at this.” Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-prometheus-josh-segarra-adrian-chase-fighting-fire-with-fire-susan-williams-oliver-queen-artemis-interview/   ARROW EP WENDY MERICLE ADDRESSES PROMETHEUS' IDENTITY & MOTIVATIONS (Date: 01 March 2017) In the wake of this stunning reveal, executive producer Wendy Mericle spoke to CBR and other reporters about what's in store for Team Arrow now that Prometheus' identity is out in the open. She addressed why she and the other showrunners made Chase Prometheus instead of Vigilante, why those chose now to make this reveal, what drives Chase to torture Oliver Queen and more. Why make Chase Prometheus instead of Vigilante? “I think one of the reasons we did that was because everyone would be thinking, “Of course he's Vigilante!” Adrian Chase is Vigilante in the comic books, as you pointed out, and we thought it would be a really fun sort of twist to do what we've always done on the show, which is to take the comic book mythology and turn it on its head and see what kind of story we could mine from a surprise like that. It was also just something different for this season. We wanted to change up how we introduced the big bad and change up when we did it and how we did it. Hopefully, we succeeded in that this year.” She also said that Prometheus is going to mess with Lance as well. Link:http://www.cbr.com/arrow-wendy-mericle-promtheus-reveal-adrian-chase-josh-segarra-susan-williams-interview/       GREEN ARROW COMICS & TOY NEWS FUNKO UNVEILS WONDER WOMAN MOVIE TOY LINE (Date: 17 Feb 2017) While the average Funko comic character is brightly colored, this version of Wonder Woman is tinted sepia; with the Pop! and Rock Candy figures, you feel as if you're looking at her through a photo filter. That certainly appears to match the aesthetic of director Patty Jenkins' film. Also notable is Diana's weapons of choice: Although her famed Lasso of Truth is slung on her belt, she wields a sword and shield, emphasizing her role as a warrior. In addition to the Amazon Princess, there will also be Pop! figures of Steve Trevor and Queen Hippolyta. SPOILERS/NSFW - DC on SCREEN #330 - Supergirl 2x14 - Homecoming | Recap & ReviewThe DEO gets a tip on a CADMUS weapon transport/super bomb and Supergirl and J’onn head out to intervene.  They stop the caravan and find that the cargo is Jeremiah Danvers, who is grateful to be rescued and returned to his home and the DEO.  The family is really pumped about this but Mon El questions the timing of their fortune, and alienates most of the crew.  He recruits Winn and, after a lot of very offensive investigations and confrontations, eventually convinces everyone that Jeremiah is still working for CADMUS after Jeremiah tries to sabotage the DEO and beats the crap out of J’onn.  Alex and Supergirl try to track Lilian, Super-Hank and Cyber-Jeremiah, but Supergirl is forced to save a train full of people, and Alex just can’t bring herself to shoot her pops so the last of the trio escapes.  Later, at CADMUS HQ we see Super-Hank finishing a Super-flare-fueled bomb that might have something to do with the National Alien Registry Jeremiah managed to steal.  Heartbroken, Alex has a few drinks and talks to Maggie.  Also heartbroken, Kara has a quick cuddle with Mon El, which is touching, because she’s been mad at him about not listening but he’s going to now.

Ambassador Controversy (Date: 19 December 2016) “There are so many horrible things that are going on in the world, and this is what you're protesting, seriously?” Gadot said about the backlash during a recent chat with TIME. She continued, “When people argue that Wonder Woman should ‘cover up,' I don't quite get it. They say, ‘If she's smart and strong, she can't also be sexy.' That's not fair. Why can't she be all of the above?” Of course, Gadot is not the only baffled by the controversy. Protestors demanded Wonder Woman be removed from her honorary position because some felt it was inappropriate to have a busty white woman carry the torch. However, fans from around the world are now rallying behind Wonder Woman and emphasizing that her beauty in no way negates her inspirational history. Already, there are dozens of online petitions running which ask the U.N. to reinstate Wonder Woman as an ambassador. Over on Change.org, Chloe Behrens has created a petition which asks for Wonder Woman to be reinstated as an ambassador. UltraSargent has gone above and beyond with his newly released fan-video “CW's JUSTICE LEAGUE,” and it will have you begging Warner Bros. to speed up their theatrical release of DC Comics' heralded team. “So, here it is. After around 2 months, it's finally done. This is my way of telling a unique story about the formation of the CW's very own, Justice League of America. There was a lot of pressure on me (that I put on myself) that this video be good, so I really hope you guys enjoy this,” UltraSargent wrote. Animation has released the international trailer for the upcoming film, which moves the focus to the magical side of the DC Universe. When nightmares start taking over the populace, the League is tasked with finding someone who can help stop it, and his name is John Constantine. Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/20/justice-league-dark-international-trailer-released/   Suicide Squad Is The Most Popular Movie Of 2016 On IMDB (Date: 19 Dec 2016) According to the website, Suicide Squad was the most popular movie of 2016 on IMDB. Here's what the ranking had to say about the supervillain flick: “Anticipation was high for the first big-budget movie lead by supervillains. All the signs were good with a cast that included Will Smith as Deadshot, Jared Leto as the Joker and Margot Robbie as the baseball bat-wielding troublemaker Harley Quinn. Robbie stole the show and the film helped position her as IMDb's top star of 2016. And while there were naysayers for the film, written and directed by David Ayer, Suicide Squad took more than $745 million at the worldwide box office and made it the most popular movie on IMDb in 2016.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/20/suicide-squad-is-the-most-popular-movie-of-2016-on-imdb/   The Flash (Season 3) - Official (Date: 21 Dec 2016) Official promo for Flash season 3.5. As a city wonders what's become of its Emerald Archer, Green Arrow and Black Canary race to rule out their prime suspect: Emiko Queen. (Date: 19 Dec 2016) As part of an effort to reach the widest possible audience, The New 52 had downplayed Oliver Queen's left-wing politics. When Rebirth came around, though, one of the things that Percy seemed to be saying was that being a political animal was so engrained in Oliver's persona that removing it left the character missing something that hadn't been replaced. On sale March 15, Green Arrow #19 sees the Emerald Archer and his former sidekick Arsenal going up against...well, it's not exactly explained, but without larger context? It sounds a lot like the Dakota Access Pipeline project. Here's the solicitation text: “Orphaned as an infant and raised on a Navajo reservation, the superhero Arsenal returns to his adopted home to defend it from a violent militia hired by…Queen Industries?! Oliver Queen's company has been up to no good since his supposed death, but Green Arrow is on the scene to make things right. Unfortunately for Ollie, he's the last person his former sidekick wants to see.” Link:http://comicbook.com/2016/12/19/is-green-arrow-going-up-against-the-dakota-access-pipeline-in-ma/   DC's REBIRTH Gets Its Own Trailer (Date: 20 DC 2016) Seven months into DC Comics' "Rebirth" era, the publisher has released a trailer highlighting it as the start of "the next big epic." The trailer, done to coincide with the release of the first collections from "Rebirth," can be seen here: Link:http://www.newsarama.com/32451-dc-s-rebirth-gets-its-own-trailer.html Wonder Woman writer and artist dropped by DC over 'challenging relationship' (Date: 20 Dec 2016) The critically acclaimed, Eisner-nominated comic series The Legend of Wonder Woman has been cancelled by DC Comics, because of what a spokesperson for DC called “a challenging relationship” with the husband and wife team behind the series. Since the cancellation was announced, fans have been wondering whether it was due to poor sales, or studio sexism towards Wonder Woman. However, the DC spokesperson told the Guardian that though “we loved the book and we were very excited to work on the collected volume”, the studio was concerned about Dillon's public comments about other teams at DC on social media. In a series of now-deleted tweets, preserved online on Bleeding Cool, Dillon criticised the writing in another DC series, Wonder Woman: Earth One, and complained when DC approved future volumes of Earth One while he was waiting to hear about the future of his own series. “It is an unfortunate situation. We tried hard to make it work,” the DC spokesperson said.
