Opening Song: Open Hands (https://open.spotify.com/track/1jwjhQjwCwChlI0RXliYPX?si=27c0c51a6cd14c81) by Jessica Fox, Paul Zach, and Taylor Leonhardt Lyrics: The earth you made and blest in days, your spirit breathing into clay: Lord, I receive with open hands The breath that fails, the light that fades while earth and heaven pass away, I let them go with open hands. In desert days a feast you spread and with your manna I am fed, Lord, I receive with open hands. And when another needs this bread, They ask as Christ, who broke and blessed I let it go with open hands. The work that waits for me today, the joys and sorrows on the way, Lord, I receive with open hands. And just as earth you freely gave, so any goodness I have made I let it go with open hands. Passage: 1 “For the kingdom of heaven is like a master of a house who went out early in the morning to hire laborers for his vineyard. 2 After agreeing with the laborers for a denarius a day, he sent them into his vineyard. 3 And going out about the third hour he saw others standing idle in the marketplace, 4 and to them he said, ‘You go into the vineyard too, and whatever is right I will give you.' 5 So they went. Going out again about the sixth hour and the ninth hour, he did the same. 6 And about the eleventh hour he went out and found others standing. And he said to them, ‘Why do you stand here idle all day?' 7 They said to him, ‘Because no one has hired us.' He said to them, ‘You go into the vineyard too.' 8 And when evening came, the owner of the vineyard said to his foreman, ‘Call the laborers and pay them their wages, beginning with the last, up to the first.' 9 And when those hired about the eleventh hour came, each of them received a denarius. 10 Now when those hired first came, they thought they would receive more, but each of them also received a denarius. 11 And on receiving it they grumbled at the master of the house, 12 saying, ‘These last worked only one hour, and you have made them equal to us who have borne the burden of the day and the scorching heat.' 13 But he replied to one of them, ‘Friend, I am doing you no wrong. Did you not agree with me for a denarius? 14 Take what belongs to you and go. I choose to give to this last worker as I give to you. 15 Am I not allowed to do what I choose with what belongs to me? Or do you begrudge my generosity?' 16 So the last will be first, and the first last.” (Matthew 20:1–16 ESV) Musical Reflection: “Air on the G String” from Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major by J.S. Bach Reflection Notes: The slow, descending bass line creates musical “steps” in an elegant fashion while a suspended melody several octaves above creates a satisfying combination of sound registers. Prayer: O merciful Lord, grant to your faithful people pardon and peace, that we may be cleansed from all our sins and serve you with a quiet mind; through Jesus Christ our Lord, who lives and reigns with you and the Holy Spirit, one God, now and forever. Amen.

“When you're faced with decisions, don't necessarily jump on what will be the next logical step of growth, always come back to, ‘Why did you start your business and what do you want to get out of it?'”  -Jessica Fox What is right for you?  There is enormous value in community connection, in group thinking to solve complex issues and create spaces for the sharing of best practices. But when trying to overcome limiting beliefs, too much time spent in the crowd can add pressure we don't need to be successful. Your definition of success matters, if you only ever set out to build a business that would support your needs, of course, you are going to feel stressed and pressured by the people around you with different or ‘bigger' dreams.  In this second part of a two-part interview with Jessica Fox, owner of Florida Virtual Bookkeeper, she explores what it means to value yourself and so much more! “I need the community to be able to bounce ideas for, to be inspired by, and I find it's also very rewarding to pay it forward, helping someone else charges my battery. I ride this high the rest of the day because I helped make someone else's journey better.” -Jessica Fox   We have all experienced limiting beliefs, whether in our personal or professional lives. We whisper to ourselves. “I'm not good enough”, “I can't do this” or “Everyone else is so much better at this than me.”    The way we talk to and about ourselves becomes who we are. Negative self-talk becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy, trapping us into existing in constant doubt and insecurity. Despite all of us knowing how uncomfortable these feelings are, we often never stop to realize, it is us who have willed them into being with our own beliefs.   But, if it is possible for us to feel that badly, then it is also possible for us to feel good about ourselves too.   In this first of a two-part interview, Jessica Fox, owner of Florida Virtual Bookkeeper, talks about the power of belief in overcoming limiting mindsets. She has spent her career not only supporting businesses to build their dreams but also in supporting other bookkeepers to find their self-belief and change their limiting mindset.   If you are having doubts about your business, lacking direction, focus or motivation to create your dream business, then this is the episode to help you begin a shift in your mindset that will help unlock your full potential.   During this interview, you'll learn... (Psalm 72:1–7, 10–14 ESV) Musical Reflection: Prelude in C Major, BWV 846 by J.S. Bach Reflection Notes: Bach's well-known prelude spins out a series of modulations, almost imperceptible at first. The new harmonies continually unfold in a way that intrigues but never shocks. Prayer: O God, the King eternal, whose light divides the day from the night and turns the shadow of death into the morning: Drive far from us all wrong desires, incline our hearts to keep your law, and guide our feet into the way of peace; that, having done your will with cheerfulness during the day, we may, when night comes, rejoice to give you thanks; through Jesus Christ our Lord. Diagnosed at 43 with ER+ Breast Cancer, a second opinion identified a tumor in the same breast with positive lymph nodes as well. Jessica was never officially given a stage, and she never asked; she didn't want to give that power to her cancer. She lives on a small peaceful farm in New York with her loving husband, two charismatic children, dog, and chicken. When cancer knocked, she opened the door with the same  vigor  she  puts  into  any  project.  She  used  it  as  an  opportunity  to  step  into  her  power,  grace  and  humility.  Amazed  and  grateful  by  the  support  she  received  during  her  treatment,  she  is  always  searching  for  ways  to  lift  up  other  previvors,  fighters,  survivors,  and  thrivers.  On this week's episode, Jessica shares her incredible story of her breast cancer diagnosis, treatment, and the community she found along the way.Donate to The Breasties: https://thebreasties.org/donateJessica's InstagramThe Breasties Instagram

(Proverbs 22:1–2, 8–9, 22–23 ESV) Musical Reflection: “Air on the G String” from Orchestral Suite No. 3 in D Major by J.S. Bach Reflection Notes: The slow, descending bass line creates musical “steps” in an elegant fashion while a suspended melody several octaves above creates a satisfying combination of sound registers. Prayer: This is another day, O Lord. I know not what it will bring forth, but make me ready, Lord, for whatever it may be. If I am to stand up, help me to stand bravely. If I am to sit still, help me to sit quietly. If I am to lie low, help me to do it patiently. And if I am to do nothing, let me do it gallantly. Make these words more than words, and give me the Spirit of Jesus. Amen.

Passage: 13 Be subject for the Lord's sake to every human institution, whether it be to the emperor as supreme, 14 or to governors as sent by him to punish those who do evil and to praise those who do good. 15 For this is the will of God, that by doing good you should put to silence the ignorance of foolish people. 16 Live as people who are free, not using your freedom as a cover-up for evil, but living as servants of God. 17 Honor everyone. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the emperor. 18 Servants, be subject to your masters with all respect, not only to the good and gentle but also to the unjust. 19 For this is a gracious thing, when, mindful of God, one endures sorrows while suffering unjustly. 20 For what credit is it if, when you sin and are beaten for it, you endure? But if when you do good and suffer for it you endure, this is a gracious thing in the sight of God. 21 For to this you have been called, because Christ also suffered for you, leaving you an example, so that you might follow in his steps. 22 He committed no sin, neither was deceit found in his mouth. 23 When he was reviled, he did not revile in return; when he suffered, he did not threaten, but continued entrusting himself to him who judges justly. 24 He himself bore our sins in his body on the tree, that we might die to sin and live to righteousness. By his wounds you have been healed. 25 For you were straying like sheep, but have now returned to the Shepherd and Overseer of your souls. Could you come back from your worst ever career moment to then put it all on the line two days later? That's what today's guest, Australian canoe slalom athlete Jessica Fox, did. And spoiler alert: she killed it. Jess is now the greatest paddler of all time – male or female – in her sport, and finished the last year with eight world championship titles. But it didn't come easy.In this special International Women's Day chat, you'll learn how she reframes disappointments so that she keeps improving – and what she shares is excellent advice that you can apply to your own health, wellbeing or career goals – plus she talks about training around her menstrual cycle, her tools for recovery and how she loves a good ugly cry.--The theme of this year's International Women's Day (IWD) on March 8 is #breakthebias. We're being urged to work towards a gender equal world, one that's also diverse and inclusive. Since becoming editor-in-chief, it's been my mission to make sure we're doing that in Women's Health, because I understand what it feels like to not be represented. We're not doing this perfectly by any means. It's taking time, but that's our aim. Pushing for gender equality is also why this week our podcast is dedicated to elevating women in sport, who often do not get the same recognition or coverage as male athletes. Like Paralympian Madison de Rozario says, “When we're at a point where we don't need to say ‘women's sport' that's when we've actually achieved something. - WH editor-in-chief Lizza Gebilagin--This podcast was produced and hosted by WH editor-in-chief Lizza Gebilagin (https://instagram.com/lizza_marie/)With special thanks to: Olympian Jessica Fox (https://www.instagram.com/jessfoxcanoe/)Jessica Fox is also on the cover of the April issue of Women's Health Australia. Here I sit staring out at a sea where I've longed to sail I feel inside that it's finally time to begin I felt safe beneath her shade, but now I'm not afraid of the wild wind. Standing on my own, I am learning to trust myself and the wiser ones inside who help me to grow (We're standing around you, you know...) So I'll answer to the call, it's now or not at all So here I go, it's time to go   So I'm building a boat, I'm taking it far away from here I'm building a boat, I'll be heading so far beyond my fear And I'll sail my way to a better world and a better life someday Let the wind and sea come and carry me on my way (She's building a boat, she's sailing away...)   I've seen a lot of love in my life, and I know that's true And it wouldn't be so if she hadn't have helped me along (You've waited so long for this...) But my work here now is done, I've stepped into the sun and I'm feeling strong. I know where I belong, and it won't be long.   'Cause I'm building a boat, I'll be taking it far away from here I'm building a boat, I'll be heading so far beyond my fear And I'll sail my way to a better world and a better life someday Let the wind and sea come and carry me, come what may. I'll be on my way, I'm on my way... (She's building a boat, it's going to carry her away, she's building a boat, she's going to see a brighter day...) And I'll sail my way to a better world and a better life someday As I turn the page, let the storm clouds rage, I won't stray, I'll be on my way, I'm building a boat, I'm gonna sail away (She's building a boat, she's sailing away) I'm sailing away

She shares about how this impacted her & eventually led to burnout. This then led to her adrenals failing, depression setting in & a panic attack that lasted 3 hours. Jessica took an 8 week sabbatical to rest and recover. During the 8 weeks, she was not getting better & after going back she ended up at her Doctor's office again who told her she was not going back & gave her all the paperwork to be on disability. She'd lost everything & was so tired she couldn't get out of bed. Almost a year later she was finally up to about 70%. She wanted a fresh start, so Jessica & her husband started dreaming about moving! The found the perfect location & set the date of when they were going to move.  And that's where everything changed. In 2019 the Oil industry in Alberta too a dive & that led to Jessica's husband losing a lot of his business & he was the only provider for the family at that time. They were facing bankruptcy. The job hunt began for her husband. They had their list of dream spots & “accidentally” ended up interviewing for a job in Arkansas! But it was all God's divine plan! He was offered the job on the spot & they were moving 3 weeks later.  It was a HUGE leap of faith, just trusting in the Lord.
