“I alone cannot change the world, but I can cast a stone across the water to create many ripples.” — Mother Teresa  One you will NOT want to miss! Why is social media here? It's for being social of course! It's for getting connected to the people around you! Finding the people in the world that will speak to your soul! That is literally what the AI is there for, to find you your people and your favourite pants! Get on the train and have a good time! Here are our favourite things about social: It finds us our besties without us having to do the work Connects me to opportunities I would have not had otherwise Allows you to collaborate and work together with others around the world and in your community You are not limited by geography! The sky is the limit, literally! Some simple tips we have for you in our decade of rocking social media!! Be authentic and yourself! Think about your values for yourself or your business, write them out, and visualize finding others with the same values connecting to you. Know your worth, keep faith that you will will attract your dream clients, it will happen at the right season for you. Show your humanness and mistakes: that is how your viewer relates and engages to you! Not everyone is going to like you, and that is okay, you will find your people! If you are posting videos, reels and stories always look into the camera above the screen, not at the screen. This sparks connection to your viewer like you are speaking face to face. Consistency is key! Whether it is posting or a newsletter, set a goal like: 3 posts a week or 2 emails a month and stick to it. Viral isn't all it's cracked up to be. Slow growth will allow you to learn and thrive at the pace that you are capable of maintaining. If you're posting a photo use a carousel filled with videos and photos, it will keep your viewer engagement going. Instagram wants people to stay on their site, they are on your side, so keep in mind that your content needs to be engaging, teaching and tutorial videos are really hot right now. Remember that they are for you not against you. Do whatever you can to keep positive this is a tool of connection, don't let it overwhelm you. DO NOT PAY FOR ADS! God never promises an easy life. In fact, the Bible tells us we will have trouble. And so often, those trials lead us right into the arms of Jesus. For the Kelly family, their second born, Hunter represented so much promise. The son of Hall of Fame Buffalo Bills quarterback Jim Kelly, Hunter was born with the expectation of football games in the yard and hunting trips with his dad. But Hunter would never speak a word or throw a perfect spiral. His life, though short, was profound. Hunter's mother, Jill Kelly, and his sister, Erin Kelly Bean, recently joined us for the Family Life Christmas Ladies Luncheon. I hope you find our conversation overflowing with hope, in the midst of trials. Find out more about the Kelly Family at Hunter's Hope. And look for The Light Your Heart With Hope podcast on Apple Podcasts or whatever platform you listen on. Jill's book, Without A Word tells the story of Hunter's life and how God moved in their family. She has also written several books and devotionals on grief and hope. Erin is the author of Kelly Tough, a book about her relationship with her dad. Terese Main is a wife, mom and flawed human. Above all, she loves Jesus. She co-hosts Family Life Mornings, which can be heard on radio stations across New York and Pennsylvania, and at www.familylife.org. This week's guest is Jill Kelly, the Global CMO of GroupM, the world's largest media investment company. The journey that brought her to this powerful position has been complicated and has forced her to confront threats both real and imagined. It has been said that if you stand in a group of randomly selected people and ask everyone to place their fears in the center of that circle, most of us would choose to take back our own. If that's true, it's because our own fears have become so familiar to us that we have learned to live with them, even to empower them, in case confronting them reveals an ever greater terror - that we were right to be afraid. That the monster in the attic is real. Fear is a foundation of the human condition. Without it we would not exist as a species. But the fear that fills today's society, the fear of individual irrelevance, has become so powerful that it threatens to wash away everything else that matters on the human journey. Kindness. Compassion. Empathy. Respect. And love. The only path away from the abyss is leadership. And that is the hero's journey. The willingness to resist the herd mentality and forge another path. That journey is always hard. But it becomes impossible if we decide to accept our own monster in the attic without resistance or challenge. Because when we start to accept our own fear, when we allow it to join us, unchecked, on our journey, only one thing is certain. That the time it will show up is when our back is turned and we are facing the real threat. I cannot promise you that you will ever conquer your monster in the attic. But I can promise you that every day you stare it down, you weaken it. Even time you shine a light on it, you expand what is possible. For yourself and for others.

Today I'm excited to be welcoming Jill Kelly to the podcast. For more than a decade, Jill has been a district Vet with the Local Land Services in Western NSW supporting farmers with ruminant nutrition, welfare and sustainability on farm. When she's not up to her elbow dissecting a sheep carcase, Jill's creative side flares to life as a painter where she goes by the alias of Miss Vet. I love the saying, "When the going gets tough, the tough get going" – During the recent drought there were a few shining beacons, one being the well-known #BuyFromTheBush Campaign, for Jill it turned her hobby into something more. For Jill, on the front line of supporting farmers it was a little initiative called the Drought Smoko, as she describes 'an idea born our of necessity', every Tuesday she'd bake a cake, and spend the morning chatting about a topic that would help the farmers in her community with their livestock in the midst of the drought. Often in life, unexpected changes can lead to new dreams. God has proven time and time again that He can use any moment—good or bad—to change the trajectory of our lives for His glory. Legendary entertainer Kathie Lee Gifford was born with dreams that unfolded as she pursued her passion to perform. As she’s moved through the entertainment world for the past fifty years, Kathie has followed where God has called her, including a new season where she’s helping kids pinpoint the dreams God has in store for them with her brand-new book children’s book Hello, Little Dreamer. NFL Hall of Fame quarterback Jim Kelly, and his wife, philanthropist Jill Kelly were living what they thought was the perfect life—Jim had just retired after a successful career with the Buffalo Bills, they had a beautiful daughter and had just welcomed their son Hunter into the world. But their world was rocked when Hunter was diagnosed with a rare disorder and projected not to live past his second birthday. The Kellys realized they couldn’t rely on the things they had before, like their own ability to make things happen, and had to instead reach for something greater. Both Jim and Jill came to faith because of a desperate need for hope, and when they realized how much healing God can bring, they started the Hunter’s Hope Foundation to provide that same light to others.    Links, Products, and Resources Mentioned: Jesus Calling: Stories of Faith television show on Circle TV Note-Taking edition of Jesus Calling Jesus Calling Podcast Jesus Calling Jesus Lives Jesus Today Jesus Always Past interviews: Matthew Barnett, Richard Cowdrey Future interviews: Lecrae Moore   Kathie Lee Gifford Hello, Little Dreamer   Jim Kelly Jill Kelly  National Football League Buffalo Bills Super Bowl  University of Miami USFL Pro Football Hall of Fame Hunter’s Hope Foundation Cerebral palsy Krabbe leukodystrophy   Interview Quotes: “People asked me this my whole life: “What do you want to be when you grow up?” And I think that's the wrong question to ask children. I think it's not what they want to be so much as what does God want you to be?” - Kathie Lee Gifford “I can't tell you how many people I was honored and privileged to lead to the Lord because I happened to be on a movie set, on a TV set, or in a recording studio or on location.” - Kathie Lee Gifford “Preach the gospel at all times, and when necessary, use words. Love people. When you love people, that's when they sense Jesus.” - Kathie Lee Gifford “I've never been confused at all about what I'm supposed to do. And I think that's because I was pursuing my dreams. I can't even imagine what God's got for me next.” - Kathie Lee Gifford “In that moment of just tremendous fear and anguish and devastation, I knew that I was going to have to seek beyond what this world has to offer.” - Jill Kelly, on her son Hunter’s Krabbe leukodystrophy diagnosis “We realized . . . that it was God using the suffering of our one and only son to point us to the suffering of His one and only Son, Jesus.” - Jill Kelly  “He is the reason, without doubt, that I've seeked the Lord and that I am where I am now in my walk with my faith.”  - Jim Kelly, on his son Hunter “God, through Hunter, taught us the greater hope. And that's eternal life. So that's our greater hope for the foundation as well.” - Jill Kelly   “As long as what I'm doing today is making somebody want to seek tomorrow, make them want to thank the good Lord for that tomorrow, that's what it's about. “ - Jim Kelly “What an honor it is and so humbling to be a conduit of God and to be His ambassador and to allow Him to work through us.” - Jill Kelly _________________________ Enjoy watching these additional videos from Jesus Calling YouTube channel: Audio Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PrbuwH Video Playlist: https://bit.ly/2PsmEkJ What’s Good? 7. In this episode, Jill talks about how joy can exist even in the midst of great sorrow. After the loss of a child, we may feel that joy is something we will never experience again ... and it can certainly be elusive. But when we understand what true joy is ... that it's not based in our circumstances but rather in the person of Jesus Christ ... that makes all the difference. And when we see that its actually biblical for joy and sorrow to co-exist, it frees us to experience both. Sources quoted in this podcast:"A Grief Observed" by C.S. Today we talked with Jill Kelly about her new book To Swim with Crocodiles: Land, Violence, and Belonging in South Africa, 1800-1996 published by Michigan State University Press in 2018. Her book is a history of ukukhonza, a practice of affiliation that bound together chiefs and subjects to enable security, in the Table Mountain region of KwaZulu-Natal in South Africa. Kelly argues ukukhonza can be used as a “lens” to explore the history of the relationship between chief, subject, and land. By examining that history in the longue durée of the last two centuries, Kelly reveals the origins and evolution of violence and conflict that saw its peak during the civil war within the KwaZulu Bantustan during the waning years of apartheid in the 1980s. By connecting these issues with the larger evolution of apartheid and traditional rulership in the country, Kelly solidifies KwaZulu-Natal as a relevant and critical region to our understanding of the history of South Africa. Jill Kelly is an Associate Professor of African and South African History at Southern Methodist University. A Fulbright Scholar, Kelly has lived extensively within KwaZulu-Natal, and has published articles for the Journal of Southern African Studies and the African Historical Review. Recently, Kelly was part of the nomination process in awarding the Order of the Luthuli in Gold posthumously to Inkosi Mhlabunzima Joseph Maphumulo, a traditional chief in the Table Mountain region of KwaZulu-Natal.
