Drawing comparisons to life's overwhelming challenges, Pastor Tom emphasizes the importance of trust and order before abundance. He invites listeners to expect God's generous sufficiency in their own lives, underscoring God's extravagant grace and capability to exceed our expectations.

Quick throw back to Fishing Austin and Central Texas-Aaron's spots are his favorite wades. A boat can change the game (as he mentions). We cannot worry about what other podcasts do or what the pundits and experts say is necessary to have a good podcast. That's fine for people who want to follow formulas that make money and content is dictated by what sells. We could do an a-hole POV podcast like that guy joe rogaine or yet another crime podcast but we are hardcore indie. And we are about fish fishing and eating fish. We do not follow any rules and never have. We do not have a narrow niche, we do not have a regular format (we do have a loose framework currently) and try as we might we do not have consistent release dates scheduled precisely. We are punk rock and while our production limitations are not the result of chemicals and ego they are the result of raising families, founding businesses, doing research and dividing our creativity and energy as best we can over any number of projects, in other words doing our thing. And Fish Nerds is one of our things. And so it survives and we keep casting pod and rod! Clay and his ever evolving merry band of helpers have broadcast this pod since 2011! So please enjoy the show, we have made all the segments a bit longer than usual just to tide y'all over. We may get some bonus material done, we made not. …Lots of parts to this episode, but they fit: with Faith No More on the soundtrack, Hostus Maximus Justin Fort does everything from excellent Dude Food (fine sirloin and the only way to enjoy fish tacos), a revelation of historic WW2 Jap tunnels under Okinawa by NHK, scary details of federal bureaucrats trying to double the Corporate Average Fuel Economy (and send taxpayers to the poorhouse), and a proper sendoff for NFL standout (back when the NFL was worth a shed) and seriously powerful dude Larry Allen, whose pleasant normalcy made him an excellent weirdo. While that's afoot, there's a leg too: Joe Biden's basement ruining Rubio's, electricity, trees and NASCAR (or what's left of it), UPS stalkers, new automotive crime from gangs in NYC, and some cool WW2 history.

Comedian and broadcaster Joel Dommett grew up on a farm in Gloucestershire but, with no interest in getting his hands dirty, he set off for the bright lights of London. He is blessed with funny bones and, after some challenging years on MTV News, he set his sights on stand-up comedy. A stint in the Jungle in 2016 secured his big break and he returned the following year as the host of I'm a Celebrity... Extra Camp. These days Joel Dommett is prime time, presenting The Masked Singer and the National Television Awards. He is married to Hannah and, as well as hosting a podcast together, they are parents to baby Wilde. Joel is here to talk about the new series of his ITV game show In with a Shout. Joel arrives early for dinner, so Nick gets busy mixing one of his favourite cocktails, a peach paloma and the pair tuck into some pea guacamole and chips, a recipe from Honey & Co. Joel loves Mexican food, so Angela prepares some tasty smoky fish tacos. The experts at Waitrose pair the meal with a No.1 Astrolabe Awatere Sauvignon Blanc from New Zealand. Joel is very excited to be seated at the Dish table and kicks off conversation with some hilarious tales of his experience in the labour ward. He talks about the time he had to film some awkward scenes with Sienna Miller and shares the questionable topping he used to put on his pizza. Just so you know, our podcast might contain the occasional mild swear word or adult theme. Collin Tweten is a young hammer bass angler from darn near the same town as our title sponsor; Grizzly Coolers, in Decorah, Iowa. The dude is just 25 years old and knows his way around the deer woods and the local pools of the Mississippi River. Just a couple days ago Collin was fishing a BFL tournament on pool 9 of the Miss . He decided to run a skinny part of the river to access a new spot that he's run through, according to him, hundreds of times. In the video, which we will release in two days (chances are you've already seen it), you can BARELY see a small section of log sticking up above the water as Collin approaches it. With the wind blowing, the waves created enough ripple effect that Collin, even while boating totally responsibly, couldn't see the log, struck it going about 60 MPH, and ripped his entire engine off the back of his Legend Bass Boat, snapping the motor mounts clean through. SIDENOTE - the engine was a nearly impossible to find brand new Mercury 4 stroke 225HP. We talk with Collin about the accident, tacos, deer hunting, YouTube, Bass Fishing, Jordan sings "Sleeping Single in a Double Bed" by Barbara Mandrell for some reason, and a lot lot more. https://www.grizzlycoolers.com/shop-kenai/ - code WCB https://hookandarrowsupply.com/ https://www.youtube.com/@tackleandtacos https://www.workingclassbowhunter.com/ COLLIN'S SOCIAL AND LINKS https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCR73vKLMVGLkjKT09-e4Dag https://www.facebook.com/grindseasonoutdoors/ https://majorleaguefishing.com/anglers/collin-tweten-2/ Learn more about your ad choices. This week we finally strayed away from bass fishing to talk some fish with teeth! They say Musky are the fish of 10,000 casts, and while that may be true, we turn to a man on the podcast who has probably caught 10,000 of them; Steve Jonesi. Those in the Musky world know this man well. And there's a reason why - he knows Muskellunge. He knows them well, he spends so much time chasing them that he kinda thinks like them at this point. Come with us as we cover everything from Steve's first fish tacos (just the other day) to Steve's first musky as a little kid, to an absolute giant mutant he guided his client to on Mille Lacs to playing college football to now guiding in Iowa. Yes. Yes there are Musky in Iowa. In this episode we battle barking dogs, sketchy internet, and the urge to quit bass fishing altogether to go after them Ski Fish. Nate now has a few Musky under his belt, Jordan has his fair share and Lola has never caught one. So we made the choice that this fall we are gonna link up with Steve and get Lola on her first big slime fish and get it on film, be sure to stay tuned for that! check out Steve's guide service here https://www.stevejonesifishing.com/ https://www.grizzlycoolers.com/shop-kenai/ - CODE WCB https://hookandarrowsupply.com/ for both Hook and Arrow and Gilltek Learn more about your ad choices. If you plan on being in the park during rainy weather, be aware that outdoor attractions can and will close. Examples of these are Goofy's Sky School, Alice in Wonderland, Matterhorn and more. Sometimes the weather is so bad that the park will close early, as happened last week when Disneyland closed an hour early. If you can brave the weather, these are great days to go because the attractions that are running have very short waits! - https://www.disneyfoodblog.com/2023/02/25/the-big-problem-youll-run-into-at-disneyland-right-now/ One of our favorite places to eat at the resort should be opening their expansion soon! Unfortunately, Mother Nature had other plans and Magic did not happen until Sunday, when the weather allowed for it. The only thing missing was the Princess and the Frog float, which was experiencing technical difficulties, but should return soon. Through this relatable story, you will discover universal themes that are relevant to all kinds of grief, not just the loss of a child. Along the way, you will gain insight into what it looks like to learn how to live after a devastating loss and compassionately care for those who are grieving.Amidst the pain and sorrow of the loss of his son, Ed Lee, is forced to discover what moving forward looks like. He is open and honest about his experience, sharing his struggles and what he found helpful. This is not a story he ever wanted to tell, but knowing how difficult of a journey it has been, he presses past his resistance to talk about these things, hoping it will help others who have experienced similar losses. He is not writing as an expert who has been trained in grief. He is a father who knows what it feels like to be tossed about by waves of grief and disbelief which follow the death of a child.
