One of President Donald Trump's first actions as president was simple and sweeping: pardoning 1,500 people convicted of offenses related to the January 6, 2021, attack on the US Capitol. That single executive action undid years of work and investigation by the FBI, US prosecutors, and one person in particular: Tim Heaphy.Heaphy was the lead investigative counsel for the House Select Committee to Investigate the January 6th Attack on the United States Capitol, and he's arguably done more than anyone to piece together what happened that day. His work helped inform related cases that were brought against rioters, Trump administration officials, and even Trump himself. In the first episode of More To The Story, Heaphy talks to host Al Letson about how Trump swept aside those consequences; the overlap between the January 6 attack and the 2017 Unite the Right rally in Charlottesville, Virginia; and what Trump's pardons mean for the country going forward.Check out the Reveal episode Viral Lies, in which we dig into the origins of “Stop the Steal.”Support our journalism at Revealnews.org/donatenowSubscribe to our weekly newsletter to get the scoop on new episodes at Revealnews.org/weeklyInstagramMore To The Story team:Kara McGuirk-Allison, Josh Sanburn, Al Letson Taki Telonidis, Brett Myers, Fernando Arruda, Jim Briggs, Nikki Frick, Kate Howard, Artis Curiskis Learn about your ad choices: dovetail.prx.org/ad-choices

We talked about pricing right, my distaste of discounts, and how you can use data to price more effectively.  We also hit on partnerships, market research, segmentation, and taking our kids to games.  We joke around a lot, but this one was a lot of fun.  Get the NPS worksheet that I've teamed up with Eventellect to create by emailing me at dave@davewakeman.com  Get my weekly ticket newsletter, Talking Tickets. https://talkingtickets.substack.com Offer your guests refund protection by talking with my friends at Booking Protect.  Talk to the Activity Stream team and find out how you can turn your data into magical moments and check out the new Activate email marketing tool.  I'll be at Ticket Summit, August 15-17. The Young and the Restless signs As the World Turns star Maura West to play the role of Diane Jenkins. Molly calls off her wedding to Holden. Days of our Lives ratings continue to sag, but what can they do to get back on track? Is their front burner Nighttime Hope storyline to blame or do they need to pick up the pace? After lasting way to long, but the Nighttime Hope storyline is beginning to wind down. General Hospital’s Brenda returns to Port Charles this week. Will her return be everything the network hopes or could her return kick off with a bang and then fizzle? Belinda doesn’t think Brenda is the end all be all. Claire started out as such a good character, but now she’s fallen for Sonny’s charms. Could Claire end up sidelined like Kate Howard or Hannah? Todd and Tea’s wedding was great on One Life to Live, but was the picture of Roger Howarth foreshadowing something? If it wasn’t, should it be? Jamey believes that Howarth’s return is one of the few things OLTL could do to get a sustained ratings boost. The Elijah mess just keeps getting worse and worse. Why can’t Blaire catch a break when it comes to men? OLTL says goodbye to Evangeline. The DC gang digs into Maura West news. Is the role of Diane Jenkins the right one for West or is The Young and the Restless playing fast and loose with Diane’s age? Jill betrays Billy yet again. Who won’t she betray to get what she wants? Should Lauren be in jail for pushing Jill into the grave? Phyllis and Nick’s marriage is crumbling, but Michelle Stafford is delivering great performances.
