It's here! Our Annual Celebration! This is a time when we thank God for all He did this past ministry year and look forward to the coming year.
Hi everyone. I'm Kanika Chadda Gupta. I'm a television journalist, podcast host of “That's Total Mom Sense,” wife and mom of three. I am having a fangirl moment right now because I am with the beautiful, talented singer, songwriter, actress, and author who has grown up alongside us. She's been singing her whole life and began her musical career as a founding member of Destiny's Child and here we are with children of our own. I'm about to “say her name, say her name.” Kelly Rowland is an American singer, performer, songwriter, actress, and television personality. She rose to fame in the late 1990s as a member of Destiny's Child, one of the world's best-selling girl groups of all time. She soon released her debut solo studio album, Simply Deep in 2002, debuting at #1 on the UK Albums Chart and sold over 3 million copies worldwide. Rowland eventually became a judge on the eighth season of The X Factor (UK version), as well as the 3rd season of The X Factor (USA) in 2013. She has continued her television career by hosting Chasing Destiny, and starred as a coach on The Voice (Australia). Throughout her career, Rowland has sold 40M+ records as a solo artist, and an additional 60M+ records with Destiny's Child. She's won 4 Grammy Awards, 1 Billboard Music Award, and 2 Soul Train Music Awards — she's also received a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame as part of Destiny's Child, and as a solo artist, she has been honored by the American Society of Composers, Authors and Publishers and Essence for her contributions to music. In 2014, Fuse ranked Rowland in their "100 Most Award-Winning Artists" list. Kelly and her husband Tim Weatherspoon have two sons, Titan and Noah. In 2022, she released her children's book, Always with You, Always with Me. 2025-09-07 ⎮ Annual Celebration by Hillcrest Covenant Church
Welcome to Wellspring Church! This Celebration Sunday—also known as Vision Sunday—Pastor Billy Waters preached from Matthew 28 on the Great Commission. He reminded us that Jesus' command to “make disciples of all nations” is not optional but the central calling of the Church. Programs, praise, and property are good gifts, but without true discipleship, we miss the heart of our mission.Looking to Psalm 1 and Jesus' parables, Pastor Billy emphasized that deep roots in God's Word and presence always lead to greater fruit. Over the past year, we've seen this lived out in powerful ways: 40 baptisms, growing youth and children's ministries, more than 50 discipleship groups, and God's abundant provision through generosity. As a church, we are entering a new season with a refreshed vision statement: “Here as it is in heaven.” This captures our call to live out deeper roots in Jesus and greater fruit for Jesus—so that our homes, neighborhoods, and city reflect the reality of heaven.

We tell you some of the specifics of the "Grande Boucle", like the different jerseys to look out for. Part of the reason the race is so popular is because the whole atmosphere is electric. But the Tour de France is so much more than just a cycling competition – it's also a celebration of France.

January 26-February 1 will be the 15th annual National School Choice Week, the world's largest celebration of parental choice and effective education options for all children. National School Choice Week (NSCW) “informs, inspires, and empowers parents to discover the K-12 education options available for their children.” Week organizers say the event will partner with 209 schools and organizations in Oregon to raise awareness of the K-12 education options available to students here, including traditional public, charter, magnet, online, private, and home schools. School choice means empowering parents to choose the educational environments that will best help their children succeed. Thirty-three states, Washington, D.C., and Puerto Rico have expanded students' academic opportunities through 75 school choice programs. More than 22 million students are eligible to participate in a school choice program—about 40% of all students nationwide. When parents have choices, students have more opportunities for their individual learning needs and goals to be met. Oregon should put parents “in the driver's seat” of their children's education through school choice, so all students can have access to an effective, meaningful, and empowering education.

581. Part 2 of our conversation with Matthew Teutsch about his article, "Blood in the Pool: The 1868 Bossier Massacre." "Violent, racist attacks didn't just occur in Bossier. They occurred across the Red River in Caddo Parish and all throughout the Red River Valley. Gilles Vandal notes that during Reconstruction 45% of the murders in Louisiana were concentrated in the northwestern part of the state. Caddo accounted for 16% of the homicides even though it only accounted for 3% of the state's population. People may have tried to cleanse the soil of the blood, but the blood remains deep within the earth." "Matthew Teutsch is the Director of the Lillian E. Smith Center at Piedmont College.
