This episode dives deep into a story that's far more captivating than anything the RHONY reboot has offered so far. Leave behind Rebecca Minkoff's lackluster appearance on the show as Rebekah pulls back the curtain on the real intrigue: a journey of ambition, family, and faith, woven through fashion, Scientology, and scandal. We trace Rebecca Minkoff's meteoric rise from her early days as a designer, where she struck gold by capturing a cultural zeitgeist, to the helm of a company steeped in the teachings of Scientology. And yes, we'll unpack the story behind her infamous “Morning After Bag”—though after this episode, you might need more than a purse to help you recover. But the drama won't stop there—her family connections take this tale to an entirely new level.Enter Rebecca's father, a prominent Scientologist and doctor, whose career became mired in controversy. His practice was linked to not one but two wrongful deaths—tragic losses that many believe could have been entirely avoided. The victims' stories serve as a stark reminder of the high stakes involved when ambition and ideology intersect. Here's what the hosts are watching:Melissa: St. Dennis, PeacockRebekah: All the Housewives!Melissa gave three clues for the next episode:Bill CosbyRyan SeacrestTyra BanksThank you to our guest editor and sound engineer, Toby Brown!Check out Rebekah's new podcast: Thank you for your interest! Listening to the needs in their community for housing and childcare led this Colorado Church to make a big decision. Rather than building a bigger church on the 11 acres they sat on, they decided to give the land away and develop a new non-profit with community partners. Does awareness of our history of land ownership in the U.S. shift the way Churches think about their land? “We don't hear stories in scripture of …and then Jesus went home to his house and went to bed, watched Netflix, and had a snack. Jesus's ministry was dependent on the hospitality of others, people welcoming him into their own homes. And so for us, this is a measure of that hospitality, welcoming people here to Heartside Hill to say, ‘You have a safe and secure place to lay your head at night.'” (Rev. Melissa St. Clair) In today's episode, Amanda talks with Pastor Melissa St. Clair, who shares the story of Heart of the Rockies Christian Church, which, after years of work, is giving away most of its 11 acres to support a new community-centered non-profit that will provide accessible housing, childcare, and supportive services. https://religionnews.com/complexified GUEST: Rev. I loved my conversation with Melissa St. Hilaire! First of all, she is hilarious, and she is also deep, profound with so much wisdom about the afterlife. In fact, the title of her recent book is 30 Real Signs From The Afterlife. She is the go-to expert when we are grieving and want to make contact with our beloveds on the other side. My friend, Gypsy, of course, showed up in this convo—as the sweetest, little bird…but so did (trigger warning) Sharon Tate. This is a full-spectrum show, to say the least. Melissa St. Hilaire grew up in the backwoods of Massachusetts, had her first mediumship experience at age three, began reading tarot cards at twelve, and has been mystified by the occult ever since. She offers intuitive and mediumship readings and classes at the Green Man store in North Hollywood, CA. She also leads paranormal investigations with the Dark Zone and the Spirit Realm Network. Her new web series, Secrets of the Craft, is available now on Dead Air Full Spectrum, and her new book, 30 Real Signs from the Afterlife is hot off the shelves! In this episode, I sit down with my dear friend and colleague, Melissa St. Hilaire, for a fun and witchy chat! We discuss our personal experiences as psychic readers, what it's like to be friends with other psychics (and how it makes us paranoid about coming into every conversation with positive energy and then severing the psychic cords gently afterwards), and the energy exchange we share with clients. We also talk about how our paths opened up when we stepped into our callings as professional psychics and witches, versus the other careers we attempted to pursue. There's a lot to unpack in this episode, but we had a blast recording, and I hope you enjoy listening!
