As a Sound Practitioner, Priyanka's overarching aim is to foster equilibrium and serenity in the lives of those she works with. She views healing as a personal journey; rather than professing to be a healer, she offers a comprehensive toolkit, techniques, and a nurturing environment suffused with sounds. This allows individuals to accept themselves completely in the present moment with heightened awareness. It is within this expanded consciousness that individuals can observe and release past patterns, thereby facilitating profound personal transformation. Priyanka has been practicing sound healing since 2014, dedicating two years to refining her skills and understanding the profound impact of sound on the human psyche and body. In 2016, she began facilitating sound baths, creating immersive experiences that promote deep relaxation and emotional balance. Recognizing the growing interest and need for sound healing, she started teaching in 2017, sharing her knowledge and passion with others who seek to harness the transformative power of sound. Her approach is rooted in the belief that each person carries the innate ability to transform their lives, and her role is to provide the guidance and support necessary for this journey of self-discovery and healing. https://www.soundhealingindia.com/ Natalie Brown, host of Sounds Heal Podcast: http://www.soundshealstudio.com http://www.facebook.com/soundshealstudio http://www.instagram.com/nataliebrownsoundsheal http://www.youtube.com/soundshealstudio Music by Natalie Brown, Hope & Heart http://www.youtu.be/hZPx6zJX6yA This episode is sponsored by The Om Shoppe. When asked about the possibility of priesthood ordination for women in 1998, Pres. Gordon B. Hinckley famously told Larry King, “It would take another revelation to bring that about. I don't anticipate it.” Big changes have come following revelations in LDS history, but must prophetic revelation always precede change? Even on a local level, many leaders are hesitant to innovate in small ways. Natalie Brown posits that “not every small experiment should require prophetic sign off.” In Episode 211, she joins Cynthia and Susan for a conversation about how change happens—or doesn't—at church. Do debate and discussion have a place, and if so, whose opinions should be considered? And what about transparency in the decision-making process?

Predictably, when Sport Wales formed its Female Health & Performance team, some asked why there was no male equivalent. The truth is that male physiology and psychology has long been viewed as the default across sport.“For so many years we haven't thought about females as being different,” says Esther Goldsmith, who works for Sport Wales, on the latest episode of the Leaders Performance Podcast.“When you think about it, it doesn't make sense because it's obvious we're different.”This lack of understanding or consideration makes one ponder just how much potential is being left on the table by female athletes. The menstrual cycle, for example, was seen as a taboo and was historically not taken into consideration when female athletes trained, performed or recovered. In seeking to redress that imbalance, Sport Wales is empowering female Welsh athletes from the grassroots through to podium potential with the support they need to succeed.“We're just trying to open up some of those conversations and improve the comfort and awareness of the athlete in order to help,” says Dr Natalie Brown, who works alongside Goldsmith. Both spoke of Sport Wales' efforts to normalise conversations about a whole range of female health issues (10:00) including pelvic floor health and stress incontinence (36:00), while busting common myths along the way (21:00).Goldsmith and Brown also discuss the importance of encouraging behavioural change through meeting the athlete where they are in their beliefs and values (15:00); helping coaches with any potential discomfort as they learn and become aware of the needs of their athletes (31:00); as well as the question of sports bras in a market without universal standards (26:00).They offer useful tips for any sports organisation regardless of their budget or level of resource but the important thing is to start having the conversation. In last week's podcast about recovery, our guest Natalie Brown told us that there were 3 key elements to good recovery - sleep, nutrition and stress management. One area which many athletes (and non-athletes) are keen to explore is a plant based diet. There is certainly plenty of anecdotal evidence about how it can improve health and performance. In his book, Eat and Run, Scott Jurek attributes a change to plant based eating as being instrumental to his success in the ultra running world. What better way to find out about how to combine running with a plant based diet than talk to someone who advocates just that? Coach Claire Bartholic has helped hundreds of runners chase their dreams and conquer what they never thought possible. Her coaching philosophy combines science-based training, plant-based running nutrition, and proven mindset techniques to unlock every runner's true potential. She's a certified running coach, sports nutrition specialist, mom, and borderline obsessive plant lover. As an athlete herself, she went from a 4:02 first marathon all the way to a 2:58 finishing time at the age of 42, entirely plant-based. She coaches vegan, plant-based, and plant-curious runners to achieve the same dramatic success, from those on a walk-run program, general fitness, up to high-level athletes. Conversation topics include: Plant based vs vegan vs vegetarian diets How to successfully switch to a plant based diet Plant based eating and weight loss for runners Strength training for runners and why it's almost impossible to gain weight Plyometrics, HIT and Z2 training To find out more about Coach Claire please visit the following channels: Website:The Planted Runner Author of The Planted Runner: Running Your Best with Plant-Based Nutrition Host of the top-rated Planted Runner Podcast Instagram: @theplantedrunner Email: claire@theplantedrunner.com Some other resources you might like to check out: 'Forks over knives' documentary which inspired Claire to try a plant based diet Claire talked about a plyometrics video on her YouTube channel The Planted Runner Podcast: 5 ways strides can transform your running **To get a free copy of my personal daily mobility routine, please click HERE** To contact Beth regarding Life Coaching, please visit her website at BethanyWardLifeCoaching.uk. Building fitness in the long term is quite a simple equation. You workout, and then you recover. If you get the balance of these two right, you should see a steady upward progress over time. Most folks I know and work with are pretty good at the training part, but maybe they could do better on the recovery side. I don't know about you, but over the years I've come to appreciate the recovery part a lot more! Fortunately, my guest today is an expert in recovery. Dr Natalie Brown (who you may remember from her podcast with me on menopause a few months ago) has done an awful lot of research on this topic. Throughout Natalie's career working in elite sport, recovery has been a primary focus to optimise performance. Since completing her PhD, Natalie has continued to implement recovery strategies in practice, alongside lecturing at Swansea University on this topic. Natalie's approach to recovery is underpinned by understanding what you are recovering from and ensuring fundamentals of sleep, nutrition and stress reduction are in place when approaching recovery in sport. How long does it take to recover from an Ironman? It depends! (1:55) If you truly believe a recovery process works then it probably does for you (27.35) You don't need wearables to monitor your recovery (35:14) Why you might feel like you are getting a cold when tapering for an event (39:32) How to make sure you don't get ill after a big event (46:39) There's no evidence that recovery is slower in older athletes (58:00) Menopause DOES impact the ability to recover (1:01:50) The 3 TOP ways to recover, and they are all FREE (1:05:58) To find out more about Natalie Brown and her work please visit these channels: Instagram Optimal.Period Website www.optimalperiod.com, You can find some other great resources using the following links: Podcasts The Female Athlete, For continued education please check out Menstrual cycle online coaching modules: UK Coaching resources I also asked Natalie to recommend a book. The female monthly cycle and how it impacts training and competition is a conversation that athletes and coaches should have. The reality is that it can be awkward for both parties, so to avoid awkwardness it usually gets pushed aside. Which means that female athletes can feel isolated in navigating this part of their life. We should also include perimenopause and menopause in that conversation as it will affect most females at some point. As a coach I do believe that we need to have these conversations, and that they should not be awkward. Education is a big part, so to help us better understand the ways in which training and competition can be managed, I have invited Dr Natalie Brown onto the show as a guest. Natalie is a research assistant for the Welsh Institute of Performance Science. She works predominately with Sport Wales, leading on research with female athletes and the impact of the menstrual cycle on sport participation and performance. In this conversation with Natalie we talk about: To truly understand the patterns of your monthly cycle, track it for at least 3 cycles Lifestyle factors have a huge influence on the severity of your monthly cycle Carbohydrate supplementation prior to HIT sessions might mitigate some symptoms Menstrual cycle apps are good, but listening to your body is better Perimenopause is ‘chaos' but healthy lifestyle factors can help How to arrange your training during the menopause HRT for females? What a fantastic way to start off the new year by talking to Natalie Brown about her role in the FX Series, “The Strain” which happens to be one of my favorite horror series still to this day… I was (still am) very excited that I had the opportunity to speak to in regard to her role as ‘Kelly Goodweather' – the mother we have all come to establish a love-hate relationship with. I am still speechless and starstruck; Natalie nailed that role without a doubt. Performing exceptionally well in a series about vampires, the casting director could not have chosen a better actress. For those that are not familiar with the FX series, it is still streaming on Hulu (with ads). It's a great take away from the traditional fangy-vampires in which I find the originality catching and it will sure reel you in for more. It's definitely one of those shows that will make you beg for a fifth season. As for me, I was heartbroken after the show ended just after four seasons. I completely understand 100% why. But do I agree? Absolutely not. Sure, there's the principal of ending it all with a nuclear bomb (which was way too predictable) but still, the show will always have a place in my heart. Be sure to follow Natalie Brown on social media and to catch her new movies, “Baby Daddy” and “Widowed Seduced” which is still in post-production. Natalie for sure is a very talented and phenomenal actress and I cannot wait to see her in more horror genre movies. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/southjerseyhorror/message

Peter May received a Bachelor of Science in architecture from the University of Michigan in 1988. In 1990, he began consulting on, designing, and building passive solar and bioharmonic structures. He is a meditation teacher, triathlete, natural alchemist, fire manager, wilderness guide, and Grammy award winning producer and musician. He teaches Conservation Biology and Spirituality at Colorado College. His work with Paul Winter and Richard Cooke on the album “Crestone”, which received a Grammy award in 2008, helped him refine his art of playing and recording music with animals out in nature. His current work is expanding to playing and recording music with the plant and mineral kingdoms. He has also been facilitating Paul Winter's Adventures in SoundPlay sessions since 2006 and sound journeys since 2008. In 2006, Peter began distilling essential oil from several native Rocky Mountain plant species. He continues this distillation art and produces one of the finest piñon pine (Pinus edulis) oils in the world. Peter creates acoustically tuned plant and mineral alchemies with essential oils and offers them in his Sound Journeys to support increased awareness and healing on the levels of body, energy, and mind. His new endeavor in creating sonic alchemies is available through his nature fusion band, The Sonic Apothecary. Mandara Cromwell, D.C.M. (Doctorate of Cymatic Medicine), is an American woman entrepreneur and inventor, who is the CEO and President of Cyma Technologies, the manufacturing company for her own inventions – the AMI Acoustic Meridian Intelligence devices. The AMI 750, an advanced sound technology device, was nominated for the Thomas Edison Award for Innovation in the Fields of Science and Medicine in 2013. In 2002, she coined the term “Cymatherapy” to refer to wave therapy based on the work of Dr. Peter Guy Manners, with whom she studied extensively. She continues to promote sound as a healing modality throughout the world. As a way of forwarding the field of vibrational medicine (specifically sound therapy), Ms. Cromwell founded (ISTA) the International Sound Therapy Association. Since 2006, the organization has been producing conferences to bring new voices together in the field of “sound science.” Ongoing classes, trainings and programs are offered by ISTA and Cyma Technologies in numerous cities throughout the US. In 2017, she produced the Atlanta conference “Cymatics: The Art and Science of Making Sound Visible,” which featured never before seen sound-made-visible images of the healing frequencies found in her own sound therapy devices. She acted as co-producer on two short films created at the University of Florida utilizing cymatic images: “dance divine” featuring dance, yoga and the sound images, as well as “Full of Stars” a short film showing three dimensional views of the healing frequencies. In 2019, she released her first book, “Soundflower: The Journey to Marry Science and Spirit,” which includes many stunning cyma glyph illustrations. https://cymatechnologies.com/ Natalie Brown: http://www.soundshealstudio.com http://www.facebook.com/soundshealstudio.com http://www.instagram.com/nataliebrownsoundsheal http://www.youtube.com/soundshealstudio Music by Natalie Brown, Hope & Heart http://www.youtu.be/hZPx6zJX6yA This episode is sponsored by The Om Shoppe. After hearing Paul Horn play flute in the Taj Mahal, Bodhi Starwater knew, at 15, that the silver flute would be his lifelong companion. Over the years, he has added many other instruments to his collection, including exotic flutes from around the world, conch shell, charango, 12-string guitar, Tibetan bowls, feathers, harmonica, gong, drums, and rattles. Bodhi's been working with sound meditation, sound healing, and sacred sound journeys for over 40 years. He's studied with Tito La Rosa, Paul Horn, Allaudin Mathieu, and many other artists. Around the globe, his music is used in yoga studios, health spas, and health practitioners' offices. His music has had millions of plays on Pandora, Spotify, Apple Music, and other streaming sites. Bodhi's deep love for the natural world led him to work many years as a wilderness and river guide. Playing his flute in the forest, inspired by the sounds of nature, he developed his own unique style of improvisation within the healing music modalities. He's been a featured artist at many festivals and conferences around the world, including the International Conference on Shamanism. He has 18 original albums in his portfolio and is the founder of the touring and recording ensembles Sonic Transfusion, Crystal Wind, and Rhythm Matrix. He's had two no. 1 flute albums on the Zone Music Reporter International New Age Music Chart, Trans Ukraine in 2006 and Deep Dream in 2020. In 2021 he created the Soundscape Oasis, a sound healing temple sanctuary near the town of Mt. Shasta in California. He offers group and private sound healing journeys for concerts, festivals, yoga classes, meditation groups, retreats, and conferences. http://soundscapeoasis.com/ Natalie Brown: http://www.soundshealstudio.com http://www.facebook.com/soundshealstudio.com http://www.instagram.com/nataliebrownsoundsheal http://www.youtube.com/soundshealstudio Music by Natalie Brown, Hope & Heart http://www.youtu.be/hZPx6zJX6yA This episode is sponsored by The Om Shoppe.
