The National Guard is deploying in Albuquerque, aiming to help tackle the city's crime problem by freeing up more police officers. New Mexico Governor Michelle Lujan Grisham declared an emergency through an Executive Order in April, after receiving a letter from Albuquerque's Police Chief, who requested additional resources to combat what he described as a crime problem that "continues to be an emergency" in the city. APD says integrating Guardsmen and women will allow officers to be more present in high-crime areas, particularly along Central Avenue. But how will this work? What will the National Guard be doing or not doing? Maj. Gen. Miguel Aguilar, the Adjutant General overseeing New Mexico's National Guard, joins Chris and Gabby to explain everything you need to know. Thanks for listening.

J'aime ce mélange entre échappées rock et sonorités électroniques. https://www.instagram.com/selfmadefamilyinc/ Making things happen despite the odds is a skill few possess – Miguel Aguilar has what it takes. He had all odds stacked against him. At just ten years old, he had a mother who is a drug addict. And then, his father was sentenced to prison for 22 years when he was 16. Consequently, he wound up homeless and living out of his car. He had to battle it out on the streets to survive – he raised himself on the mean streets. Miguel Aguilar was trying to figure out how to make somebody out of himself. There was no smooth sailing – he was roughed up by drug addiction, bankruptcy, and other bog downs before building his business from the ground up. With all their heuristic skills and self-motivation, falling and getting back up again, Miguel Aguilar worked to build one of the most exciting personal training franchises in the country. His ingenuity created a phenomenon in the fitness industry with Miguel's revolutionary concept. The deal was not to charge members a monthly membership fee as traditional gyms do. Instead, he managed to understand that perhaps there was an opportunity to cater exclusively to personal trainers. And, he realized that it's something feasible and now he operates by merely charging those personal trainers a flat monthly fee. This way, they are facilitated to manage their training business out of, build their own business, earn over 6-figures doing so, and keep every dollar they earned in profit margin.Miguel Aguilar was an overweight kid who had life hammering him hard. But, he stuck it out passionately and turned out phenomenal as a self-made, multi-million dollar fitness entrepreneur. Self Made Training Facility is the fruit of Miguel Aguilar's resilience, hard work, passion, learning, dedication, and mostly his high-degree of self-respect. Today, we’re speaking with the President and CEO of Self Made Training Facility, Miguel Aguilar. Two years ago, he was our guest on the Escape Your Limits podcast, where he shared his humble and inspiring story of his rise to success. This time around, we caught up with Miguel at his Self Made headquarters to discuss how he managed to come out on top during an ongoing pandemic. When things get tough, do you sink or swim? Miguel decided to swim. When thousands of gym owners reluctantly closed their doors in early 2020, hoping to reopen in two weeks when things went back to "normal," he never wavered. Instead, he banded together with other Riverside Country fitness facilities and stayed open. His franchise owners educated the consumer while staying open and didn't give in to the bully tactics attempting to close down business. Miguel was able to put his head down and have faith that things would work out. Throughout this interview, he reveals how Self Made became one of the most successful training franchises in America, operating 40 locations in 11 different states. Miguel also explains how they managed to stay open while countless other gyms were forced to shut down. This is one interview you don't want to miss. One thing's for sure: You're going to walk away inspired. Please welcome Miguel Aguilar back to the Escape Your Limits podcast.

Through his construction and real estate background, whether weightlifting or in business, Miguel Aguilar is someone who has never stopped building. Now, with what could be the largest training facility in the United States at 18,000 sq ft, Self Made Training is proof of how establishing concrete foundations can lead to huge creations. Miguel starts his story with three hard-hitting words: abandoned, homeless and broke. His mother abandoned him when he was 12 years old, leaving him with an alcoholic, drug addicted father who soon became incarcerated. From there, Miguel and his brother were kicked out at 16-years-old by their step-mother. It's this hard start to life that left Miguel with the determination to overcome circumstances out of his control and accept responsibility for barriers to success that he himself has caused since. On a fitness front, wrestling was Miguel's family, keeping him away from the depths of the dark side before getting into the construction industry to put his work ethic to good use. Literally and metaphorically, Miguel wrestled to win. He soon moved on from his construction path and into real estate and it wasn't long before he was selling 98 homes in a year. Now, as founder and CEO of Self Made Training Facility in California, Miguel invests his time and efforts towards the company he's built to ensure that his personal training staff members are successful in their own business ventures as well, giving them flexibility and entrepreneurial opportunity with clients in the Self Made family. The Self Made Training business began as a creation in Miguel's garage. This is a theme that's continued through to the success we see today, in expansive fitness spaces that are very high end but stick with that garage feel. Through Instagram and Facebook, Miguel blew up engagement to create a movement that grabbed attention and cemented Self Made Training in the fitness industry. Within six to seven months of being fully functional and fully staffed, Miguel had his investment back and started to research if the model would work in another location 25 miles away. Today, over 90 personal trainers take to these non-membership gyms with a sales-free approach on high-end equipment that has motivation at the heart of everything they offer. In the company's own words… Self Made Training Facility has the tools you need to be a champion. Episode Highlights: How to overcome dark times and real challenges, plan your professional life and then have the courage to try something completely new. Use what you're good at to model your approach in everything else you do. This way, you can take inspiration and advice from a way of thinking that you may have previously discounted as being totally unrelated. Why it's important to give your PTs and self-contracters the flexibility to run businesses in the way they want to, and how this entrepreneurial approach brings big returns. How etiquette and understanding allows every division of a company to operate whether professionally speaking, or physically when sharing the same space for different goals.
