This week, we're looking at a major study that is following the development of children born in the UK in 2026. It's called Generation New Era, and in this episode we hear from the team leading the research: how they plan to run it, what earlier cohort studies have revealed, and what they hope to discover this time around. The study has been funded by public investment from UKRI, and their Economic and Social Research Council... Like this podcast? Please help us by supporting the Naked Scientists
In John Chapter 3, we read the story of one man's personal interview with the Lord Jesus Christ. His name was Nicodemus, and we are told that he came to Jesus sometime in the night. And what a memorable night that was in the experience of this religious, yet empty man! A night he would always remember. A night that he came to realize that the Lord Jesus Christ was much more than a teacher - He was a Saviour - the Saviour he desperately needed if he were ever to be in heaven.

WAIT CONFERENCE '26 | Day 5 | Theme: Worship – Deep Calling Unto Deep | Chimdi Ohahuna Scripture References:- Psalm 42:7 | John 4:24 | Genesis 2:7 | Romans 12:1–2 | Psalm 42:1–4 | Song of Solomon 6:3 | John 15 | Philippians 4:8 In this profound session of WAIT CONFERENCE '26, we explore worship as more than an act, it is the deep of man's spirit calling to the depth of God. Worship is not initiated from the surface of emotion or intellect; it is birthed from the regenerated spirit, reaching into the eternal depths of the Holy Spirit. At the core of this teaching is the truth that only the spirit of man can truly commune with God, for “God is Spirit, and those who worship Him must worship in spirit and in truth” (John 4:24). The human spirit, illuminated by the breath of God, becomes the candle that lights up the soul and body. Without this divine ignition, without New Birth, man remains in spiritual darkness, unable to respond to the call of the deep. Key Revelations: - Worship is spiritual alignment: At salvation, the Holy Spirit fuses with our spirit, making us one. Worship flows from this oneness, spirit to Spirit. - The spirit is the altar: Your spirit man is both the temple and the altar of worship (Psalm 42:1–4). Worship is not occasional, it is continual. - Fellowship is soul alignment: When the soul aligns with the spirit, it produces what Scripture calls fellowship. This alignment manifests in purity, as described in Philippians 4:8. - Worship is holistic: Romans 12:1–2 calls us to present our bodies as living sacrifices. Worship is not just spiritual, it involves the soul and body in harmony with the Spirit. - We are one with Him: Jesus said, “I am the Vine, you are the branches” (John 15). There is no separation between the Holy Spirit and the spirit of the New Creation. Worship is the conscious expression of this union. “We cry Abba, Father, because our spirit is in the same depth as the Holy Spirit.” This episode is a call to deeper worship, not just in sound, but in substance. It is an invitation to live from the spirit, to align the soul, and to let the body reflect the purity and power of divine fellowship. Tune in and be awakened to the reality of worship as deep calling unto deep. Let your spirit rise in unbroken communion with the Holy Spirit. Jesus is Lord.
If someone asked you the question, "what is a Christian?" What would you say? For many people the answer to that question is simply someone who has been baptized... or perhaps someone who goes to church... or who reads the Bible... or someone who says they are a Christian. But the truth is that none of those things actually make anyone a Christian. The truth is that a Christian is someone who has been born, "not of blood (not by birth into a Christian family) nor of the will of the flesh (not by a person's own decisions, desires, or religious strivings) nor by the will of man (not by any other human persons efforts or declarations on our behalf) but born of God (John 1:13)" In short a Christian is not made by any natural means, but rather by supernatural means. That's why Jesus says that unless one is born again by the Spirit he cannot even see the kingdom of God.This means that salvation is a supernatural act of God. In 2 Cor. 4:6, Paul likens it to God's supernatural and powerful act of creation, and in 2 Cor. 5:17, he says that if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. The theological term for this idea is the word Regeneration. To learn more about what this term means, and how it relates to our salvation, tune into this episode. This episode is a lecture originally given by James Kaczor at a Men's Discipleship event at River City Church in Fargo, ND.

Tell us what you think about this podcast! The Ministry of Reconciliation teaches that living for God and striving to live sin-free actively destroys sin's power in our lives, as outlined in Hebrews 10:1–18. God is serious about sin, and a disregard for His law affects our relationship with Him. Church exists for reconciliation, helping people be made right with God. Verses 16–17 describe the New Birth experience, where God writes His laws on our hearts, and verse 18 shows that Christ's sacrifice removed the need for continual reconciliation for sin.For more lessons and sermons, follow our YouTube channel at https://www.youtube.com/@GBT
This is message 02 in Gospel Record of John John 1:6-13 God sent the Light into the world so that men might know Him, yet the world rejected what it did not want to receive. The Light shone clearly through Christ, revealing God, exposing darkness, and offering life, but many turned away even when faced with truth. Still, rejection did not stop God's purpose. To all who receive Christ by faith, God grants that authority to become His children through a new birth that comes only from Him. Salvation is not achieved by heritage, effort, or religion, but by God's power at work in the heart of those who believe. "Born again" wasn't a term invented by the popular press or religious fundamentalists. It was something Jesus told Nicodemus must happen for anyone to enter heaven (see John 3:3). Peter certainly heard that term from Jesus and speaks of it here (as well as in 1 Peter 1:23). It's a term synonymous with being saved and having eternal life. What does this new birth provide? In a word—solidity! Coming to Christ brings hope, inheritance, and power.

God's mighty resurrection power is available to us and working within us. This is a major them in Ephesians. Discover how the Holy Spirit provides revelation and wisdom to help us lay hold of and walk in God's power within us, the same power that raised Christ from the dead and is now active in our lives. God's mighty power is in us, through the Holy Spirit, and it is available to us, but we need to have a revelation of this power, so that we can draw upon it by faith, as well as the wisdom to walk in that power, for it is released through our obedience. Ephesians 1 gives us a revelation of this mighty power, by describing what it has already accomplished when it was released in Christ, when He was (1) made alive from the dead, (2) raised far above all powers, and (3) enthroned on high. Then Ephesians 2 describes what this resurrection power accomplished in our spirits when we were born again in Christ: (1) Our spirit was made alive with Christ, changing us from spiritual death to being spiritually alive to God. (2) Our spirit was raised far above all opposing powers (sin, satan and the world), for His victory was imparted to our spirit. (3) Our spirit was seated with Christ far above, having been empowered to reign with Christ. This same power is available to us in our life today! (Ephesians 3:20).
Dr. Daniel Ragusa speaks at the Reformed Forum Annual Theology Conference, held at Lakeland Church in Gurnee, Illinois on September 27, 2025. Dr. Ragusa, focuses on the dark period of Israel's exile and how it illuminates the deep human longing to return to God's presence, which had been lost due to their rebellion. Dr. Ragusa first establishes the devastating nature of exile by contrasting it with the desired state of dwelling in God's house, a theme illustrated by the pilgrimage described in Psalm 23. He references the Heidelberg Catechism to frame the Christian experience as moving from the "valley of exile" (sin and misery) up to the "mountain of God" (righteousness and everlasting life) through the work of the "mountain ascending mediator," Jesus Christ. Crucially, even in the midst of the exile's darkness, God's hope continues to shine through the prophets, promising restoration, which is ultimately fulfilled in the gospel and glory of Jesus Christ.
