Just like a baby's cry - we may not initially know what need needs tending to but the more we learn about an individual the more we may understand about their cries and appropriately be able to decipher between them. That said, it's not our job to pick up for everyone else. The only person you are responsible for is yourself. Being the caretaker for everyone around you is not only taxing, but impossible. Knowing that everyone just wants to be seen but it's not your job to ensure they feel seen is a fine balance that takes practice. With time it'll get easier. A lot has happened in the South African wine industry over the past year-plus. Since the start of the global pandemic, it has faced numerous obstacles. The first Covid-19-related restrictions came in March 2020. Since then, there have been multiple starts and stops to alcohol sale, transport and export. Figures have estimated billions of dollars of revenue lost, as well as hundreds of thousands of drinks-industry jobs. But simultaneously, the country has maintained international relationships, improved global standing and further honed-in on its own brand and messaging, leading to improved quality overall. Dwayne A. Caines has been an agent of change for the last 25 years and a dynamic force in Bermuda’s business environment. After graduating from Bermuda Institute, he attended Oakwood University where he received a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Public Relations. A year after receiving his Bachelor’s Degree, he attended Wayne State University in Detroit, Michigan to commence graduate work in Public Relations. Mr. Caines has a very diverse business background as he has worked for Bermuda Broadcasting Company, Bermuda Telephone Company, Bermuda Department of Tourism and he is most notably known as the Corporate Communications Manager/Public Relations Manager of the Bermuda Police Service. In May 2019, Mr. Caines was elevated to the post of Secretary and Chief Operations Officer for the Corporation of Hamilton. In Mr. Caines’ spare time, he is an avid sportsman and a community activist.
