There is something powerful about learning to see the natural world differently—and in this conversation, I sat down with Dawn Wilson to explore that and more. From her life in Estes Park surrounded by elk to leading photography tours across Alaska, Peru, and beyond, Dawn shares what it looks like to build a career founded in observation, respect, and curiosity. We talk about the experiences that shaped her as a photographer, the stories behind the images, and how paying attention to nature changes how you approach your work. This conversation blends storytelling with a deeper look at wildlife photography, conservation, and the choices we make when we step into these environments. In this episode, we cover: Life in Estes Park and photographing wildlife up close Wildlife encounters, including elk, moose, and night photography experiences Building a career through photography, writing, and guiding Understanding animal behavior and why it matters Using photography to support conservation and awareness The role of storytelling in creating impact Why slowing down—especially in wildlife areas—matters Links & Resources: North American Nature Photographers Association (NANPA): https://nanpa.org Dawn Wilson's tours and workshops https://www.dawnwilsonphotography.com/photo-workshops https://www.ccnaturetours.com/ Blog post: https://studio.wildwomanphotography.com/post/episode-41-dawn-wilson   Visit www.wildwomanphotography.com to check out featured wild women, episode transcripts and more information how to elevate your photography with us!

Peter appeals to Jesus' resurrection at the beginning of the letter (1:3). How confident are you that Jesus rose from the grave? What are some reasons you believe this?2. For Peter, the resurrection means He will return and finish what He started (1:5). Why does the resurrection prove He will return? How confident are you that Jesus will return? What are some reasons you believe this?3. We live between these two key events (resurrection and return) in what many have called the “already/not yet.” Is this a new concept for you? How would you summarize what the already/not yet means?4. What are some of the benefits of Christ's resurrection that we can experience now (for example, see 1:3, 2:9-10, and 2:24)? What benefit stands out to you in your life right now? Explain.5. What are some of the benefits of Christ's resurrection that we won't fully experience until His return? Why is “life in the not yet” often challenging for us? What challenges are you currently experiencing because of the not yet?6. Do you tend to emphasize the already or the not yet? Explain.7. We discussed how the already/not yet mindset can change how we view everything: politics, marriage, church, blessings, and salvation. Which of these areas do you need to develop more of the already/not yet perspective? Explain. Pray for the Unreached: The Saek in Thailand The Saek are a small Tai-speaking people living in northeastern Thailand and parts of Laos. Though officially Buddhist, daily life is strongly shaped by animistic beliefs and fear of spirits. Most live in rural villages, farming rice and maintaining close-knit family communities. Scripture translation has begun, but there are no known believers among them. Pray for the Saek to be freed from fear, to encounter the hope of Christ, and for a vibrant local church to take root among them.FinancesWeekly Budget 34,615Giving For 03/22 37,881Giving For 03/29 28,356YTD Budget 1,350,000Giving 1,682,831 OVER/(UNDER) 332,831 Fellowship 101 - April 12 | 9:00 a.m Whether you've been visiting Fellowship Conway for a few weeks or a few months, we'd love to invite you to take the next step in getting connected. Photography is highly valued as a recording medium. Traditionally it has been claimed that photography is fundamentally a causal recording process, and that every photograph is the causal imprint of the world in front of the camera. In this paper I seek to challenge that traditional view. I claim that it is based on a ‘single-stage' misconception of the process that defines photographs as mind-independent images and leaves no room for photographic depiction. I explain my objections to that view and propose an alternative, ‘multi-stage' account of the process, in which I argue that causal registration of light is not equivalent to recording and reproducing an image. The proposed account can explain how photography functions as an exemplary recording medium, without supposing that every photograph is a mind-independent causal imprint of the world. Intervention or non-intervention by photographers is a more complex matter than the traditional view allows. Using the framework of the multistage account, I describe three different ways that photographic pictures can be produced. Dawn Phillips studied at the University of Durham and wrote her PhD on Wittgenstein's say-show distinction. She held philosophy positions at Kent, Cork, Southampton, Oxford, and Warwick. In 2011 she became a Lecturer in Philosophy at the University of Hull and, also, became Dawn Wilson. Dawn has published on Wittgenstein early and late, particularly the Tractatus, including articles on logical analysis, clarity, symbolism, the picture theory of language and the expression of thought. With David Connearn, she co-authored an article about Wittgenstein's House in Skjolden and co-ordinated an international letters campaign for the conservation of the house and its legacy. She is interested in language, thought and image, particularly in art and aesthetics and the philosophy of photography. Her article, ‘Photography and Causation', launched a field of debate known as the ‘New Theory' of photography and was selected as one of twelve classic texts to celebrate the 60th anniversary of the British Journal of Aesthetics. She recently published ‘Invisible Images and Indeterminacy: Why we need a Multi-stage Account of Photography' and she is co-authoring, with Laure Blanc-Benon, the photography entry for the Stanford Encyclopedia of Philosophy. She is writing a book titled Aesthetics and Photography for Bloomsbury, and articles on temporal representation, co-portraiture, and comparing photography with music. This podcast is an audio recording of Dr Wilson's talk - "Reflecting, Registering, Recording and Representing: From Light Image to Photographic Picture" - at the Aristotelian Society on 7th March 2022. This recording was produced by the Backdoor Broadcasting Company.

Guest: Dawn Wilson, Television Producer and Activist  There is a saying, “We are what we eat.” I find this to be true because when I eat healthily I seem to stay healthy. And it is important for us to acknowledge that not all food we eat is healthy. There are serious risks to our health from any quest to put profit ahead of people and the planet. Therefore I believe Jesus would say it is a spiritual responsibility to care about the food we eat and how it is farmed and manufactured.   In this episode, my guest Dawn Wilson and I discuss: The importance of being aware of the dangers of herbicides that are used on the foods we eat, on the playgrounds of our children's schools, in public parks, dog parks, and on our lawns;   The links between herbicides and an increase in autism and other physical conditions, such as depression and cancer; The ways we, as citizens, can make positive changes within our homes and communities to greatly reduce or eliminate dangerous herbicides; and The importance of eating organic and taking supplements to help our digestive system remove as many toxins as possible from our bodies.  For more information, check out these websites and this blog post: https://www.mygenefood.com/blog/why-glyphosate-is-dangerous-and-how-to-avoid-eating-it/. www.glyphosateresiduefree.com & www.detoxproject.org

'What we cannot speak about we must pass over in silence'. Thus ends the only book the philosopher Ludwig Wittgenstein published in his lifetime. But it's a book that's had people talking ever since it was published a century years ago. In an event hosted by the Austrian Cultural Forum, and in collaboration with the British Wittgenstein Society, Shahidha Bari discusses the contexts and contents of the Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus at 100 with Wittgenstein's biographer Ray Monk, the philosophers Juliet Floyd and Dawn Wilson, and Wittgenstein's niece Monica Nadler Wittgenstein. In the Preface to his Tractatus Logico-Philosophicus, Ludwig Wittgenstein claims to have solved all the problems of philosophy. The youngest son of one of the wealthiest families in Europe, based in Vienna, Ludwig moved to England in 1908 to study the then cutting edge-topic of flight aerodynamics. From there he developed an interest in pure mathematics, which led him to philosophy, and to the revolutionary work of the logician Gottlob Frege. Frege recommended he went to Cambridge to study with Bertrand Russell, who quickly recognised him as "perhaps the most perfect example I have ever known of genius as traditionally conceived". The work that Wittgenstein began in Cambridge eventually led to the composition of the Tractatus, but not before the intervention of the First World War, during which he signed up to the Austro-Hungarian Army and fought in some of the fiercest battles on the Eastern Front, even volunteering for an observation post in no-man's-land. Finished whilst he was still in military service, the Tractatus combines an innovative account of the nature of logic with searching investigation of personhood and mysticism. Written in an aphoristic style that seems to conceal as much as it reveals, it is a major work of Viennese Modernism as well as a foundational text of analytical philosophy. You can find a playlist of conversations about philosophy on the Free Thinking website which include Wolfram Eilenberger, David Edmonds, Esther Leslie with Matthew Sweet looking at the different philosophical schools current in the 1920s Clare Mac Cumhaill and Rachael Wiseman on reclaiming the role of women in British 20th century philosophy Stephen Mulhall and Denis McManus, and the historian and New Generation Thinker Tiffany Watt Smith on Wittgenstein's Private Language Argument https://www.bbc.co.uk/programmes/p07x0twx Producer: Luke Mulhall

After learning of the whereabouts of Sebastian, who is now a slick and debonair secret agent working for MI6, Nobby meets and tries to reassert long-dormant bonds, but Sebastian wants none of it at this point in his life, having felt abandoned way back when.  During a particularly tense moment at a public function that draws out Sebastian into full super-spy mode to avert an assassination, Nobby ends up bungling the heroics and makes Sebastian look like the culprit, causing the latter to have to hide out from his own spy organization.  Sebastian tries to regain separation, but Nobby is all he has in this world to help him, especially as he learns of nefarious plans being hatched from an international terrorist organization that could put the world in mortal peril.

Dawn Wilson is a name that most transgender people in the Louisville area know or should know.  In fact, in the state of Kentucky.  She has been involved in transgender rights on the political side for many years.  In fact, many would say that much of what we have in the area of legal rights in Louisville and Lexington is partly due to Dawn.  Dawn was born in Chicago and then raised in Lexington, Kentucky.  She attended Transylvania University and the University of Kentucky.  She is currently involved with CFAIR and the Louisville Metro Human Relations Commission.  The Human Relations bascially deal with diversity issues and would be the organization you would contact if you felt your rights were being taking away from you.  Dawn is also very involved in the sport of Fencing as a very successful coach and athlete.  We are very excited will have Dawn as our guest on Prism Radio April 19th at 10:00pm.  We will talk about her life growing up in Chicago and Kentucky, her early years as an activist in Kentucky and the current political and social issues facing the transgender community today. You can write in questions or comments att prismdirection@aol.com..  We will not use your name unless you want us to.
