I'm thinking about workflow associated with audio Notes to Self after hearing Elsie Escobar riff about it on Twitter. I often make audio notes to self when I see something by using HiQ MP3 recorder to shift content automatically to Google Drive. Then I clear the Drive notifications by sharing the clip into a Notion database. I often elaborate on the audio clip by discovering something in my Notion I can use to make the audio snippet more worthwhile. For this whole process to be sustainable, the audio clips should relate to a goal. The goal needs to be free of bottlenecks. And the content needs to appear in an another channel such as my RSS or Feedspot.

Voice Notes to Self (part 2): Just as the previous episode did, this episode is in response to the many news articles written about women during the pandemic and it is inspired by Jah9's song "Note to Self." This episode is here to intentionally record and amplify women's uncensored experiences over the last year. Women have been doing an unequal share of the work of caring for family members, schooling children, keeping house, and nursing patients back to health, all while appearing composed and full of grace. What a difficult facade to keep up all of the time. Recognizing this as a woman myself, I offer this episode as a space for women to be heard, for you to listen, and a space that will hopefully encourage you to check in on yourself and the women and girls that you love. This episode listens to women who have been navigating, coping, and surviving a global pandemic. As you listen to S3/ Ep5 and S3/ Ep4, please hear their voices with an open heart and find yourself amongst their stories. Thank you to the women who shared their voice notes to self so publicly: Nicole Fields, Karen Thaxter-Nesbeth, Patricia V., Moji A., and Lizzy Brown. Today’s show is all about the bizarre, embarrassing, inexplicable notes that I’ve found in my phone and in various notebooks.I’m not talking about long chunks of prose or deep excerpts from a diary or journal. I’m talking about random words and sentences that are just on their own, in the middle of a blank page. Ideas or phrases I’ve written to myself but that have absolutely no context, like I’m supposed to know exactly what I meant when I wrote it down.Do you do this? Please let me know I’m not the only one. Its short and sweet episode, I hope enjoy.A transcript of the episode can be found here:https://taliarandall.com/2020/07/01/ctr-10-notes-to-self-transcript/Cassette Tape Radio is written and presented by Talia Randall. Notes To Self on 1/28/2017: "Focusing on the good things in your life and focusing on what you do have are the only keys to feeling happy. Find the good in everything, it changes your mood! Just freaked out about my finances, my job, my lack of a relationship. I never had all 3 areas a question mark in my head. By focusing on the future good and by acknowledging that this is temporary and that there are still good positive things going on right now, completely lifted the burden off my shoulders" Lessons you'll learn today: HOW to shift your mindset by, Remembering it's temporary You might not understand what you're going through right now but it'll make sense later What you focus on you will think about Asking yourself different questions, such as "What IS something that is good in this situation?" or "Who can I talk to right now?" or "Which resource can I turn to for guidance?" You feel like a burden. You feel like you’re carrying heavy baggage into your relationship. You feel like others around you don’t always want to be around you. Can you relate to any of these limiting beliefs? Welcome to the 1st episode of “Notes To Self”, a segment of Found Family Podcast. “Notes To Self” are literally notes that I’ve written to myself on the Notes app on my iPhone where I admit my worst fears, talk about my triggers, and word vomit limiting beliefs as well as life-changing revelations on my recovery journey. Get ready to REAL talk, girl. Coz shit’s about to get real. The truth is, I want my boyfriend and my friends to think that “I have my shit together”. So, one of the Notes that I left myself on March 14th says this: “I see myself as a burden to other people. Anytime that I feel like the luggage I bring into the relationship is too heavy or not something that someone would want to “deal with” I get anxious. I think this is because my mom made me feel like a burden. Example: she’d buy me something and then make me feel like it was something that took away time and energy for her so I’d feel badly about it, even if I didn’t even want the thing to begin with” Woof. That’s deep. Why do you feel like you’re a burden? What deeper issue is rooted under the layer of you feeling this way? Here are some of the things we’ll soul chat about today: Took away my power, took away my voice, took away my options Luggage will inevitably be brought into your relationships. They key here is ACCEPTING the luggage and understanding that you have the power to “unpack” the luggage and “swap” things in the luggage. Guilt and shame are LEARNED. Self awareness is the most important THING in transformation PS CORRECTION WHEN I GET TO THE PART ABOUT DINOSAURS (you’ll get it when you listen) Paleontology is the study of fossils, while archaeology is the study of human artifacts and remains. In January 2011, Laura Schmidt had an idea. A few months later, she started developing a product line and a company based on that idea. The company, notes to self, llc puts Laura's belief in the power of positive thinking into action. Her first product was notes to self® socks—high-quality athletic socks that have positive affirmations woven-in on the toes and the bottoms as the socks are made. The affirmations are phrases such as "I am confident" as well as other motivational words. The socks are sold online at www.notestoself.com and in more than 1,900 stores across the country, including Hallmark stores, hospital gift shops and boutiques. Laura supports other small U.S. businesses by having the socks manufactured exclusively in the United States. Notes to self, llc regularly donates socks to homeless shelters, women’s shelters and other people in need. Laura hopes that notes to self® socks give people, especially the young, encouragement and confidence to become the best that they can be. Learn more about your ad choices. Positivity is a powerful tool. From practicing gratitude to the power of believing in oneself, even small acts of positivity can have a big impact. Laura Schmidt knew this power of the subconscious mind and started her company "Notes to Self" by creating wearable items stamped with positive affirmations. Listen to her story about the road trip that inspired her to create her first product - socks - and the impact that she's seen positive affirmations have on others.
