Certains ont été obligés de dormir dehors faute de place dans les foyers. Ces images de désordre ont été exploitées par Donald Trump. En amateur de ski, j'avais hâte de m'entretenir avec Antoine Dénériaz. Outre un palmarès sportif impressionnant, Antoine est avant tout un enfant de la montagne comme on l'imagine.Né aux pieds des pistes, il attrape le virus du ski de descente très jeune et quand il n'est pas en train d'arpenter la montagne avec ses amis, le petit Antoine regarde l'équipe de France à la télévision dans l'émission Téléski. Conscient d'avoir entamé sa carrière à une époque désormais révolue, Antoine entame son parcours de sportif professionnel en effectuant stages et préparations toute l'année.Il se rend compte aujourd'hui que le ski est devenu un sport qui coûte de plus en plus cher, particulièrement en ce qui concerne le matériel.La carrière d'Antoine est loin d'être un long fleuve tranquille, entre doutes et tensions psychologiques, il n'a jamais abandonné son rêve.Dans une carrière de descendeur il y a des pistes mythiques et celle qui faisait rêver Antoine c'est la piste autrichienne de Kitzbuhel. Au-delà d'une descente technique, c'est un lieu qui rassemble les sportifs et où réside une ambiance inégalée. Mais pour descendre une piste comme cette dernière, il faut la travailler, Antoine étudie chaque descente, il visualise, descend petit à petit pour connaître chaque recoins et assurer la meilleure course possible. À l'aube de sa trentaine, en 2005, il se blesse au genou lors des championnats du monde de Bormio. Un vrai virage.Loin de se démoraliser, ce dernier en est déjà persuadé, il gagnera les Jeux Olympiques un an plus tard. Au départ de la course, il le sait, il le sent cette course elle est pour lui ! Et l'histoire lui donne raison, à l'arrivée il prend 72 centièmes de seconde sur Walchhofer. Les années qui ont suivies sonnent malheureusement la fin de sa carrière. Après une chute impressionnante à Are en Suède, Antoine remonte sur les skis avec la peur au ventre, mais quand la passion devient de la torture, ça n'en vaut finalement plus la peine. Parachuté dans le monde du travail, loin des podiums, Antoine prend conscience que ses années de carrières lui ont permis de connaître le milieu du ski comme personne.
