The Patriot Freedom Project is being called into question by Congressional Democrats. They have concerns about this nonprofit group that gives financial support to defendants charged in the January 6th attack on the U.S. Capitol. At issue: whether the Freedom Project's apparent support for Donald Trump's presidential campaign may violate federal tax law. The judge overseeing Trump's federal criminal elections interference trial is suggesting that a delay of weeks or even months in the trial is possible. That's because all the trial dates she set are still on pause as Trump's attempt to get the case dismissed is pending before the D.C. Circuit Court of Appeals. Journalist and political analyst Michael Shure will stop by to talk about all of it. Plus, we'll get his take on what happened in Iowa and the upcoming New Hampshire primaries. At a campaign stop in New Hampshire this week, Donald Trump whined to the crowd that not only was it "ridiculous" that he had to leave the White House after losing the 2020 election, but he was also not happy about having to "follow the laws" after losing. He was about to continue down this verbal, but he realized how bad that could end up so he quickly changed the subject. But the man is now showing open disdain for the laws of the country and his followers are eating it up.Also, it is becoming very difficult to tell which side Alina Habba is working for as she represents Trump in court, because everything she's doing in this week's defamation trial appears to be helping the plaintiff. Habba was repeatedly smacked down by the judge in the first few days of the trial, and the judge had to constantly admonish her for her behavior in court and her non-legal objections to certain things. The whole situation became very tense, and the judge already appears to have lost all patience with Habba. And Democratic lawmakers are imploring the IRS to investigate a nonprofit group that is aiding January 6th defendants over the fact that the group is also clearly being used to push Donald Trump's presidential bid. The group, Patriot Freedom Project, is set up as a nonprofit that is expressly prohibited from engaging in politics by supporting any candidate or Party, but they have held multiple events where they've either directly endorsed and encouraged people to support Trump, or they've outright held events at his properties. This is fairly cut and dry, but that doesn't mean anything will happen to them.Finally, Donald Trump's cognitive and physical health is being called into question a lot these days, and he attempted to ease those fears during a campaign rally in New Hampshire this week.
