Send us a Text Message. Can you believe it everyone?!? Season 8 of Summer House is OVER (much like Carl and Lindsey) and it's been a good one! As expected, the main bulk of the episode is a lot of arguments and semantics between Carl and Lindsey (you said this! I didn't say that, I said this! That's the same thing! Rinse and repeat) and really the only conclusion to reach is - they are both terrible in their own special way and were so glad they didn't get married. Andy also gets involved because how dare anyone suggest the cast might have some say on when cameras get picked back up? Our main source of shouty indignation, however, is Kyle and his support, or lack thereof, of Amanda… Enjoy y'all, we'll be back soon with some Bravo based content for you to absorb! Poor Things is a high-brow steam-punk fantasy which just garnered the second largest number of Oscar nominations for 2023 including BEST PICTURE and has received universal acclaim for this surrealist tale of Bella Baxter (Emma Stone, also nominated for Best Actress), a young woman in Victorian England (?) who has recently been reborn/revived via a series of questionable experiments by a mad scientist Dr. Godwin played by Willem Dafoe. We follow her on several adventures throughout Europe as she explores what it means to be a free-thinking human being. It was directed by acclaimed Polish filmmaker Yorgos Lanthimos whose previous film The Favourite also garnered several Oscar nominations five years ago.Showgirls is a trashy exploitation melodrama which was universally panned upon initial release in '95 while also flopping notoriously at the box office, also receiving multiple Razzie Awards for that year. This story focuses on Nomi Malone (Elizabeth Berkley, who was blamed for its failure and whose career never quite recovered afterwards) who is a wandering dancer (?) who stumbles into Las Vegas seeking fame and fortune, working her way up from an exotic dancer at a sleazy local club to an all-out phenomenon leading THE premiere exotic dance show in Vegas! We follow her character as she navigates through various dangerous and tawdry situations towards becoming.....well it's not really clear. :o This film was directed by Dutch filmmaker Paul Verhoeven who had recently given us Basic Instinct and Total Recall....though from this film on, he was never able to find that level of success in the US again. Now what could these two films possibly have in common? Well more than you would think, especially the extreme reactions they each seem to elicit from audiences... It's time to flip that coin and call it “frendo”, as the hosts get ready for the ultimate showdown with its next movie review, the award winning western crime thriller classic, No Country for Old Men, starring Tommy Lee Jones, Javier Braden, Josh Brolin and directed by the Coen brothers. Many people agree that this film is arguably one of the best movies of the 2000 decade. Based on Cormac McCarthy's novel of the same name, the film has been held by the audience as one of the most brilliant mixture of genres and a new way to view a western drama movie. The hosts pair the film with the Killer Coco Chai cocktail. Make sure not to put your lucky quarter in your pocket as the hosts traveled a long time to get here , to review this Oscar best picture winner.Come listen and follow us on Instagram @the.gentlemenpodcast and our website thegentlemenpodcast.comThe Sitcom StudyWelcome to the Sitcom Study, where we contemplate the TV shows we grew up with and...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

Episode 446."The Shawshank Redemption"Actor: Don McManus.Don and I talk Seinfeld (Duncan Meyer), Dexter, The Shawshank Redemption, Vice and his most recent film Joker: Folie à Deux.A veteran character actor on some of TV's most quirky series, Don McManus got his first recurring role playing Erick Reese Hillman, the first gay character to marry his boyfriend on television, on the critically acclaimed CBS dramedy "Northern Exposure." Next up for McManus was a change of pace, playing dynamic manager Lee Michaelson in Steven Bochco's searing courtroom drama "Murder One" and a recurring role as a recovering alcoholic on the gripping family drama "Party of Five." McManus continued to work steadily, with guest roles in such high-profile series as the political drama "The West Wing," the crime series "Cold Case," and the refreshingly original sitcom "Malcolm in the Middle." His next big recurring role was as Assistant District Attorney John Lennox on David E. Kelley's off-kilter law series "Boston Legal," where he appeared as an attorney who battles Crane, Poole, & Schmidt. In between his busy television schedule, McManus also found the time to appear in several films, including the critically acclaimed prison drama "The Shawshank Redemption," Paul Thomas Anderson's absurdist "Punch-Drunk Love," and the big-budget Nicolas Cage adventure "National Treasure."Welcome, Don McManus.https://linktr.ee/mondaymorningcritic#theshawshankredemption #seinfeld #vice #dexter #podcast #fyp #interview #shortsThe Sitcom StudyWelcome to the Sitcom Study, where we contemplate the TV shows we grew up with and...Listen on: Apple Podcasts Spotify

Ever wondered what it's like to traverse the treacherous paths of Middle-earth with only a sliver of hope and a heavy burden? Strap in, as Tom and Mitch, your guides through this fantastical realm, offer a deep and sometimes humorous exploration of 'The Return of the King,' the epic finale to our 'Lord of the Rings' series conversation. We'll also unravel Saruman's untold fate from the books that never made it to the silver screen. Wading through the father-son tragedy of Denethor and Faramir, we examine the fiery trials they endure and the beacon of hope that signals the unity of Middle-earth against a common foe. Our discussion leaps into the throes of battle, where the clashing of swords and the cries of men weave the fabric of this cinematic masterpiece. As we near the end of our trek, we laugh and marvel at Gimli's quips and Legolas's gravity-defying skirmishes, while also delving into Aragorn's perplexing choices and Eowyn's chilling confrontation with the Witch-king. Our journey culminates in the harrowing moments at Mount Doom, where the fate of the world hangs by a thread. Whether you're a first-time traveler or a seasoned Middle-earth adventurer, we promise insights that will enrich your appreciation for this timeless saga.
