A profound shift is happening in the world of infrastructure. Advances in software, sensing and computational technology are seeing connected digital twins being adopted across whole infrastructure systems and even entire cities.  In this episode we meet the global engineering consultancy Royal HaskoningDHV (RHDHV), event podcast partner for the Digital Twin Hub's inaugural Connected Digital Twins Summit, 22 June 2023 (see below for event details). RHDHV are helping their clients rise to the challenges of resiliency, sustainability, and digital transformation. One of the key technologies that is enabling this change is the place-based digital twin. We explore how RHDHV's digital twin services are helping Bacton Beach in Norfolk tackle coastal erosion through a hugely ambitious sandscaping project. We meet the rail startup, East West Rail that is applying digital twin technology to a new railway connecting Oxford and Cambridge. And we visit the Dutch province of Limburg where RHDHV's AquaSuite software is using digital twin technology to improve the processing of 150m3 wastewater across a vast infrastructure network. Featured in this episode are Lisette Heuer, Director of Business Transformation at RHDHV; Ben Lomax Thorpe, Leading Professional – Digital Twin at RHDHV; Rob Goodliffe, Coastal Transition Manager, North Norfolk District Council; Dino Nola, Head of Digital Engineering at East West Rail; and Melchior Schenk, Sales Leader – AquaSuite, RHDHV. Connected Digital Twins Summit – 22 June, 2023 The huge opportunity that digital twins offer place-based infrastructure is what guides the work of the Digital Twin Hub (which came out of the UK's National Digital Twin Programme) housed at the Connected Places Catapult. It is a network that is helping to bring people together to learn from each other and collaborate on this hugely ambitious social, environment, and technical journey. On 22 June 2023 the Digital Twin Hub and the Connected Places Catapult hosted the inaugural Connected Digital Twins Summit. Royal HaskoningDHV is an active supporter of the Hub and was event podcast partner for the Summit. Both of these generous men have first-hand experience with violence and talk about the impact of their experience that had it seem to become second nature. They are both close friends and appreciating their frankness is easy since the vulnerable aspects of childhood and trauma are often thought to be hidden.  Violence is brewed internally with thoughts that are conflicted. There is no greater self-abuse than what we experience since our pain and pleasure centers occur immediately where our thoughts are generated or degenerated.  Thinking that thinking of itself creates a self that we can become is not true thus a major conflict that cannot be overcome by more incorrect thinking.  Proving who we are is unnecessary when we concede who we are is not limited by what we think.  There are no stories that are told that are true.  They all have the potential for morals while they are often used to excuse what we do.  To act irresponsibly for what we are doing is not moral or virtuous.  Reality and Truth are not based on what we think so what we think of them does not change them - as the impact is only on what we think, we think.  What is simple is simple.  What is absolute does not change.  To ignore what is always present in favor of what is only imagined to exist is to chronically create complications that are not true.  Mentally obsessive thinking is a mental problem.  Thinking about things that don't exist as all that exists is delusional and insane.  We appreciate that you're listening and you are also welcome to attend our live discussion occurring all but the last Sunday of each month from 9 - 11 am + Pacific Standard Time. contact@mentalobsession.com

MOD episodes inclusively overlap as they have no shelf-life or expiration date.  Since our focus is principled and always happening now - each will always reflect the fluid nature of current events. Our discussion is not about agreement, faith, or belief. It is the chance to sincerely consider what is said - and see by even considering any effects that occur including reactions - or shifts in awareness.  Consideration is a present contemplation as it is an awakened meditation.  Our observational capabilities are never restricted when we preoccupy our attention with obsessive thoughts.  Obsession is a clever way of making us believe there is nothing else we can do which is a fundamental thought of addiction.  Choice always allows the freedom to not choose.  If we did not know this we would not claim we have no other choice, since we would not use choice as our excuse, we'd simply be busy doing the only thing we think is the only thing possible.  Watch your experience, and your thoughts,  and notice reactions are always defending something.  Our primary weakness are thoughts that are not true and are effectively indefensible even while relying on chronic thought to maintain the impression they will be, someday.  Reality and truth have no defense as what is Absolute is not at risk.  Once we think we own our truth we think our thoughts are captive and thus we are captivated by what we think is true and real immediately supposing the so-called life of thought's image, ego, can be saved by fighting for what we think.  In fact, like any lie, it is the opposite of what is actually happening.  What is caused is not reality and truth but anxiety and stress that can feel real when our thoughts are thought of as real and true. Whenever we think our thoughts are reality whatever effects are created are imagined to confirm reality.  Pain is evidence of something wrong, not proof of reality where there is no pain.  This line of irrational thinking naturally undermines our functional capacity.  Thinking of things that are not real as real is to think of illusions, the imagery of thought, as reality, while it is in fact the insanity of delusion.   Nothing said is of any value unless what is said applies to us all. Applying reality never requires much additional thought since it produces noticeable, useable results and can always be reapplied, by all.  As accurate as words can be there are no words that can or will break the "self-will" that thinks it is saved by denying truth.  Yet if you know what is said while thinking you don't you will naturally feel conflict, defensiveness, and defiance as your only choice - while thinking these effects are happening to you and not being caused by you.  It seems easy to follow what you think by choosing more chronic thoughts after years of relying on thought as your only source. Most and maybe all of the greatest trauma and difficulties we face and think are out of our control are the direct descendants of the self we think we gave birth to in thought, thinking of it-self.  Denial is the anesthesia of insanity giving the impression we have nothing to do with what is happening. This is an argument in favor of not existing.  Is it hard to wonder where self-centered fear comes from pretending the irresponsible attempt to turn what we think into truth? Of course we're afraid, we know better while relying on what we think for proof.  All that is proved is how quickly we can think our job is to control the mess. We appreciate that you're listening and you are also welcome to attend our live discussion occurring all but the last Sunday of each month from 9 - 11 am + Pacific Standard Time. contact@mentalobsession.com

This episode looks at childhood trauma, violence, racism, inequity, suppression, and oppression as an insane reaction to the internal struggle with obsessive thoughts trying desperately to turn our thoughts into reality and truth as we think we become only what we think.  David and John have a history of fighting and though their backgrounds are diverse their stories are very similar.  We are looking for the morals in the stories rather than refining them as excuses to justify all that we think we have become, can be, or think we are.  David and John have been featured in prior episodes. Their history and insight are also further described in their respective episode descriptions.  We are going to continue these discussions so we can speak more openly about what is happening now and see if exploring the vastness of the present doesn't lead to an awareness that would otherwise seem unimaginable.  We appreciate that you're listening and you are also welcome to attend our live discussion occurring all but the last Sunday of each month from 9 - 11 am + Pacific Standard Time. contact@mentalobsession.com

This joint effort again looks at the source of the problem and includes an answer to what is the solution. It is simple, but not always easy since we are capable of complicating what we think about what is happening.  If we can think what is happening shouldn't be happening we think it is possible to control what is happening with thought.  In fact, all that is ever happening is always happening so trying to intervene leads to mental and emotional instability.  Few greater complications exist than to think what we think creates any reality whatsoever.  If Reality was in short supply it would not be real, nor would Truth be true if any space or distance could intercede. John and David have lived through intense circumstances where violence was common.  Their experiences hardened aspects of their thoughts yet both reveal an interest in coming to terms with the inner and outer conflict created by addictive thinking.  Anthony met John a few years back at a men's retreat where my focused discussion was the mental obsession as the core illness of addiction.  Anthony calls regularly and today got the chance to discuss things openly in a smaller-than-usual group setting.  We appreciate that you're listening and you are also welcome to attend our live discussion occurring all but the last Sunday of each month from 9 - 11 am + Pacific Standard Time. contact@mentalobsession.com

David is a very close friend and neighbor who starting as a teenager was incarcerated for over twenty years.  He talks openly about how he matured "in the box" where he learned about responsibility and accountability.  Since his release, he has been active in gang intervention and worked in many of our local schools to help guide children at risk.  He also offered some great insight into incarceration vs. the mental prison that melds neatly into our discussion about mental addiction.   David's insight into the mental rigors of incarceration are beautifully metaphoric for the prison mental addiction appears to cause. We are planning to do two more episodes exploring how to turn the limits of thoughts and trauma into a valuable asset.    We appreciate that you're listening and you are also welcome to attend our live discussion occurring all but the last Sunday of each month from 9 - 11 am + Pacific Standard Time. contact@mentalobsession.com

It's a very good discussion about the ins and out of a briefing from both the analyst and analyst relations perspective. Listen to tips to kickstart your Startup AR or when starting to work with industry analysts. Learn what's different between an analyst briefing and an investor pitch. People often ask me what my favourite episode of the podcast so far is and more often than not I point people to the first episode with today's guest Cody Twinn. I have been working ever since to get Cody back on the podcast to share more of his unique insights and well earned wisdom. You always have to worry with an episode that good that subsequent ones might not reach the same heights but yet again Cody was able to bring completely new ideas to the table while also expanding expertly on the paths already trodden. It sure is humbling to speak for a living and to have someone with such innate skill and articulation walk in and absolutely destroy on the mic time after time! I know I tell you to listen to all the episodes (because they are all great!) but I really really mean it this time! ;)

Today's episode is a  very special  one for me as Cody was one  of  the first people I confided in  that I was even starting a  podcast as he was a large inspiration for me in his posts as i loved the effect  his words could have on me and I knew I needed to find a medium to bring my own thoughts to people.  Funnily enough that extra time it took for me and Cody  to  find a time  to  record allowed for a much deeper conversation  that reached  into the depths of vulnerability rarely heard anywhere but a long-form medium.  We discuss addictions, recovery, sexual  orientation, societal narratives, tradition, finding your place in a technological world and ways/tools to stay connected to your inner self.  I knew I would learn alot from a discussion with Cody  but as soon as we began it was very clear I had no idea to which depth that would occur and for days afterwards more and more of his  words sunk in when I was ready for them and I'm sure he will have the same effect on  you listeners as he has had me questioning my own long held beliefs through his social media  posts for months now and hearing hs ideas expanded upon was a whole different level of connection  that i'm so grateful to be able to bring to all of you! Check it out and pass it to  a friend if you enjoy!

Shelley Twinn website Dating is Us is the first publication by Shelley Twinn, a successful singer and performer dedicated to capturing the challenges associated with dating, relationships, and love, and turning them into works of art anyone can enjoy and appreciate. Born in London to a Caribbean father and an English mother in the 1960s, Shelley grew up in a period of significant social change in the United Kingdom, especially in the traditional morals and values of the time. The impact of how this changing society, as well as friends, and immediate family viewed her parents’ relationship and her mixed heritage gave Shelley a genuine sense that love can sometimes conquer all, despite any social and societal pressure. Her belief in the power of love has greatly influenced her creative career, driving her to not only find success as a musician through her songs about love and relationships but to also write a book about finding love through online dating. Shelley’s belief that a fairytale ending is always achievable, no matter the circumstances, has allowed her to produce stunning works of art in the form of her music and her novel, and to share this idea with the world.

I own an all Original 1968 Schwinn Mini Twinn Tandem classic bicycle built for two. It is by far one of the coolest things I have in my empire. It is a bicycle but for two but I like to ride it all by myself. I got it from the son of the original owners. He said he could remember when he was a child riding on the back of the bicycle. When he got to be too big and physically unable to ride it anymore he put it for sale. I was the one he connected with as the next owner. He asked if I was going to buy it to part-it-out to make money. I said I planned to keep it for the rest of my life. He then said he was going to adopt me so he could say he kept it in the family. This podcast is about the coolness of this sweet classic bicycle built for two. Thanks for listening! I invite you to share this podcast, offer a comment or leave some feedback.
