On May 4, Patrick Edwards continues his series called, I Have a Question, with this message on Why Do Bad Things Happen. Job 2:10 | If God is good and all-powerful, then surely, He wouldn't allow pain? Or even if He did allow it to bad people, then not good people…right? But sometimes the bad in this world thrive and the good suffer. What about the innocent born into poverty, famine, or abuse? Suffering seems to be an obvious indictment against God and even against His existence. What is His answer?

Her journey into breast cancer care began with a personal tragedy. At the age of 16, Dr. Jenn's cousin, acclaimed singer-songwriter Linda Creed, died of metastatic breast cancer just weeks after Whitney Houston's recording of her iconic song, "The Greatest Love of All," topped the charts. This loss became a defining moment, inspiring Dr. Jenn to dedicate her life to transforming how we approach breast cancer treatment and prevention.Dr. Jenn became Philadelphia's first fellowship-trained breast surgeon and spent 17 years leading the field. However, her perspective changed significantly when she became a patient herself. Through this personal experience, Dr. Jenn saw how broken the conventional medical system can be. It integrates conventional wisdom with root cause medicine and the drivers of health: nutrition, lifestyle changes, detoxification, and stress management. Dr. Jenn's innovative approach doesn't stop there. How did we get here if the world God made was good and did what He created it to do? Something clearly went wrong. ON JANUARY 5: We are beginning of a new sermon series on Genesis, with a message called, God's City, (Genesis 1:1-2:25) with Patrick Edwards, Ph.D. HERE'S THE DEAL: The Bible opens by definitively showing us the Plan for the whole world and who the Plan-Maker is. The opening chapters aren't interested in telling us how the world was made, but rather Who made it and why He did. Only when we know Him can we then know ourselves and what He wants to do in this world through us.

In this episode of Angling Wisdom, Patrick Edwards invites expert angler and guide Brian "Bro" Brosdahl from "The Bro Roadshow” to explore the fascinating world of yellow perch fishing. Although Patrick admits he isn't an expert on perch, he has had plenty of unintentional catches while targeting other species like walleyes. Brian, a passionate and seasoned angler, shares valuable insights on yellow perch behavior, fishing techniques, and the importance of conservation.Tune in as Patrick and Bro discuss:Yellow Perch Overview- Native to North America, yellow perch are prolific breeders but can be overharvested. Larger “jumbos” are prized, but most perch are 6-10 inches long.- They are opportunistic feeders, eating minnows, crayfish, and snails, and are great for beginners due to their eagerness to bite.Fishing Techniques- Perch are found at varying depths depending on food availability. Target big perch with patience, especially in heavily pressured areas.- During the spawning season, fish for males near spawning areas using small jigs and waxworms. In summer, use underspins with minnows and nightcrawlers (Learn how to catch your own nightcrawlers here: Angling Wisdom: Episode 4).Year-Round Perch Fishing Strategy- Winter: Early ice fishing targets areas near green weeds, while mid-winter fishing focuses on deep basins with heavy lures.- Summer & Fall: Perch feed on crayfish and bug hatches, with aggressive jigging techniques working best in cooler water.Conservation and Ethical Fishing- Selectively harvest and release large females during spawning to ensure future populations. - - Use durable gear like tungsten spoons and specialized hooks to minimize harm during release.- Overharvesting is a concern, and anglers should limit their catch to preserve perch populations.Fishing Gear and Techniques- Brian shares tips on ice fishing equipment, including forward-facing sonar and 24-inch track snowmobiles for mobility. GPS tracking is essential for navigating unpredictable ice conditions.Fishing is about more than just catching fish—it's about understanding fish behavior, using the right gear, and maintaining an ethical approach to conservation. Whether you're a novice or an experienced angler, these insights will help you enjoy the sport and preserve it for future generations. Thanks for tuning in! It turns out that when we fix our eyes on the right things and prioritize the things of God in our lives, we might just get a little joyful as a result.

SUNDAY WORSHIP: On July 21, join us for Sunday worship service at 9:30 or 11:00 AM. Patrick Edwards will continue his teaching series called CITIZEN, with a message called, “The Unity of Kingdom Citizenship” from Philippians 1:27-2:4. HERE'S THE DEAL: In a country so divided, especially during an election cycle, it seems that there is nothing that people can agree upon today. Jesus empowers His people, however, to live in a different way, for it is through our unity in the cross that a lost world around us will see the truth of the Gospel. Be sure to participate in a Bible study this Sunday at 9:30 or 11:00. Remember that life change happens in small groups. 1. The Church's unity is essential to fulfilling its mission (1:27-30) This is a common theme in the book, the trials and tribulations that came as we follow Jesus. But this isn't a meant to be a message of doom and gloom. Rather, suffering does three things... 1) Suffering has a redemptive nature 2) Suffering tests our convictions 3) Suffering testifies to the gospel and glory of God. 2. The Church's unity depends upon a Christ-oriented view of one another (2:1-4) The Church must demonstrate its Kingdom Citizenship in... 1) Racial Unity 2) Socio-Economic Unity 3) Multi-Generational Unity
On July 14, join us for Sunday worship service at 9:30 AM or 11:00 AM. Patrick Edwards will continue his first teaching series through Paul's letter to the Philippians. The series is called, “Citizen,” from Paul's letter to the Philippians. The message this week is "The Task of Kingdom Citizenship" from Philippians 1:12-26. HERE'S THE DEAL: While there are many privileges and benefits that come with citizenship, there are also responsibilities. As we've been freely granted citizenship in God's Kingdom, we now have a calling to represent King Jesus in everything, whether that be in times of plenty or times of hardship.
On July 7, our new pastor, Dr, Patrick Edwards, begins a new series called, Citizen, from Paul's letter to the Philippians. Today he opens the Word of God to Philippians 1:1-11. 1. Into His body that we may walk in His salvation and proclaim it. (1:1-6) 2. Living as a Partnership (1:7-11) We find that as the love of Christ transforms our lives personally, our church (our koinōnia), as it shapes the way we think and act, this work should find its intended end in the fruit of right living. A Partnership in the Gospel 1. Shares in the financial support of the mission 2. Loves and cares for one another 3. Grows in the knowledge of God's Word 4. Produces a holy people To put it simply, Paul prays that believers would actually look like citizens of the Kingdom.
