The Canucks looked to complete the sweep of the western US road trip against the defending Stanley Cup Champions. Vancouver kept up the tight D, again only allowing 1 goal against, for the 3rd straight game. Hughes, PDG and Connor Garland scored for the Canucks, to bring home the victory before heading back home for a lengthy home stand. Jeff Paterson and Irfaan Gaffar host. Vegas baby, Vegas!!! Unfortunately it was ALL Vegas on this night in Vancouver. The Canucks were just not up to the test against the defending Stanley Cup champions and current Western Conference leaders. Demko stopped 41 of 45 shots to hold up his end of the bargain, but there was just no offense to be found in a game where Pettersson had zero shot attempts in the entire game. Zero. Are we still saying there's nothing bothering EP40? Jeff Paterson and Matt Sekeres host. Canucks 1 (22 SOG) Vegas 4 (45 SOG)

In this week's episode of Bustin' Chops & Callin' Shots, your favorite sports and sports gambling podcast, we dive into the exciting world of professional sports. Join us as we discuss the latest happenings in the NBA, NHL, NCAA, and NFL. First up, we turn our attention to the NBA Finals, where Game 1 took place last night in Denver. We ponder the impact of elevation on the game and whether it will play a part in the outcome. With the opening line favoring Denver -9 points, we delve into the strategies and considerations for betting on individual games and the series as a whole. Shifting gears to NBA star Jimmy Butler, we examine how his performance throughout the playoffs has shaped his legacy. Does the outcome of the finals have the potential to alter the perception of his greatness? We also discuss an intriguing moment where Butler refused to hold the Eastern Conference Finals trophy and explore a recent social media video where he expresses his newfound love for country music. Next, we explore the film "Air" and its impact on our perspective of the legendary Michael Jordan. Have we seen it, and if so, how does it affect our perception of his greatness? Moving on to the NHL, we turn our attention to the matchup between the Florida Panthers and Vegas Knights, set to kick off this Saturday. We discuss the teams' strengths, key players to watch, and our predictions for the series. In the NCAA, we tackle the controversial statement made by Missouri HC Eli Drinkowitz, who believes that the current NIL (Name, Image, Likeness) system is broken. We delve into his arguments and the implications of players potentially earning more than professionals in other fields. Shifting to college football, we highlight the SEC's decision to do away with divisions following the arrival of Texas and Oklahoma. We explore the potential impacts of this change on the conference and the college football landscape as a whole. In the NFL segment, we dive into the best fit for wide receiver Deandre Hopkins. We discuss potential landing spots and analyze the factors that could influence his next team. Additionally, we explore the situation surrounding Vikings running back Dalvin Cook, as the team appears reluctant to offer him a contract extension. We speculate on whether Cook might be traded or released and consider possible destinations for him. Finally, we debate which team and quarterback face the most pressure to perform this year in the NFL. We each share our top five picks and provide insights into the expectations and challenges each team and quarterback will encounter. Tune in to Bustin' Chops & Callin' Shots for a lively discussion on all things professional sports and sports gambling, filled with expert analysis, intriguing insights, and plenty of laughs.
Bruised but ultimately not beaten the Miami Heat survived a potentially historic Celtics comeback to claim their spot in the NBA Finals where once again they will be underdogs. Can the Nuggets knock them off to claim their first franchise title or will Playoff Jimmy burn the oddsmakers one last time? And not to be outdone in their own backyard the Florida Panthers prepare to lace up against the Vegas Knights with both franchises looking for their first Stanley Cup win. Vegas might be the ever-so-slight favorites but after knocking off the Bruins, the Leafs (sigh), and Canes this Panthers team definitely does not feel like an underdog.

On this episode, the boys are joined by Ottawa Senators General Manager Pierre Dorion. Just 6 points out of a playoff spot in 2023, on top of being entertaining as hell, the Ottawa Senators are on the rise and Pierre deserves much of the credit. The boys also get some insight about the decision to make Brady Tkachuk captain, and much more. Before the interview, the boys get into Vegas/Dallas and that nasty Jamie Benn crosscheck (10:25), the Hurricanes elimination (14:50), if Eichel gets a cup before McDavid (18:00), the Leafs think they run the world (32:30), who the best American player is (46:00) and much more. Aaron Judge may be the greatest NY baseball player in our lifetime. Jerry is here for his first update and starts with audio from the Heat/Celtics game last night. The Celtics were terrible from three. Jason Tatum injured his ankle on the first play of the game and said he was a ‘shell of myself'. Jerry has play-by-play from Aaron Judge hitting 2 HRs and robbing a HR. Judge called it ‘just another catch'. Buck Showalter said the Mets have ‘big things ahead', whatever that means. Boomer said the Mets bullpen keeps him up at night. The Vegas Knights head to the Stanley Cup Finals after beating the Dallas Stars 6-0. In the final segment of the hour, Gio finally watched Air on Amazon Prime, the story of Nike signing Michael Jordan. Boomer is mentioned as he and Jordan had the same agent at the time, David Falk.
