Boomer likes the Giants picking WR Malik Nabers. Boomer also thinks Daniel Jones was a big winner last night with the Giants not picking a quarterback. Kirk Cousins is supposedly angry with the Falcons taking Michael Penix instead of a player to help his offense this season. Gio thinks it's time for him to stop being a Vikings fan. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with the sounds of last night's Knicks loss in Philly. Joel Embiid scored 50, but could have been thrown out for his flagrant foul on Mitchell Robinson. Bill Belichick seems to like Malik Nabers. Aaron Rodgers talked about the Jets pick, Olu Fashanu. In the final segment of the hour, Gio went to the Islanders last night and ran into Julie Stewart-Binks. He remembers her crapping on the Islanders in the past and there she was in an Islanders jersey in the owner's box last night. He also ran into Stu Feiner from Barstool.  Hour 2 Boomer did not like that Joel Embiid was not given a flagrant 2 when he pulled down Mitchell Robinson. Gio doesn't think the Sixers will win another game in the series. Can Embiid keep up his 50 point performance? Gio said Knicks in five. He said the Sixers are babies, dirty and wuss bags. In the final segment of the hour, a caller said Mitchell Robinson needs to pull a Willis Reed after his injury. A caller wants Joel Embiid suspended for his flagrant foul.  Hour 3 If Aaron Rodgers is healthy, they should be the best team in the AFC East. Boomer loved watching Bill Belichick with Pat McAfee last night. He loves Malik Nabers. But what if the Giants don't win this year? They passed on another quarterback in the draft and Bill Belichick will be available to be the head coach. Where can we expect the Giants to fall in the NFC East? Gio said third. Jerry returns for an update and starts with how huge the crowd was for the draft in Detroit. The Falcons drafted Michael Penix for the future, even though they got Kirk Cousins in the offseason. Boomer said it makes complete sense to him. In the final segment of the hour, we get game three of Rangers/Capitals tonight. Gio said the Capitals are dead. A caller said Sal took a shot at Boomer at the end of yesterday's show.  Hour 4 Boomer is getting more annoyed at Joel Embiid the more video he sees of him on the court. Embiid crossed the line but he knew they weren't throwing him out of a playoff game at home. Gio said there is no way he's getting away with that in game four. Jerry returns for his final update of the morning and starts with the Knicks losing in Philly last night. Embiid played dirty and poured in 50 points. Malik Nabers is going to come in and ‘be a dog' for the Giants. The Falcons drafted Michael Penix even though they have Kirk Cousins and Boomer thinks it was a smart move. JD Martinez is finally going to be in the lineup tonight. The Islanders are now in a 3-0 hole after losing again last night. The Moment of The Day involves Gio not being thrilled with the Vikings drafting JJ McCarthy. A caller said he's getting married and Gio gives him a piece of advice.

Game 5 of the 1973 NBA finals would be the last one played by Wilt Chamberlain, as the Lakers lost to a NY Knick team that featured basketball legends Walt Clyde Frazier, Earl the Pearl Monroe and Willis Reed. A fourth hall of famer, Dave DeBusschere, donning the number 22, also played an instrumental role in what was the last championship for the Knicks. 50 years later, his son, Dennis DeBusschere, is a co-founder and the Chief Market Strategist at 22V Research, a firm advising institutional clients on risk and asset allocation. My conversation with Dennis explores his process for uncovering the interaction between the economy, inflation and the Fed's reaction function. He emphasizes the importance of the financial conditions channel, asserting that economic growth that proves too resilient will force the market to ultimately confront policy that is higher for longer.  A large part of our conversation is around the linkages that Dennis and his team find in various equity factors to macro variables like the shape of the yield curve. Of these, one interesting assertion is that defensive stocks and factors like low vol have provided little safety in the context of bear steepening. Lastly, we talk about hedging in an environment of stock/bond correlation levels that remain unfriendly. Here he points to a customized short basket he's developed comprised of stocks with deteriorating short-term debt levels and high cash flow volatility.I hope you enjoy this episode of the Alpha Exchange, my conversation with Dennis DeBusschere.

Buck SHOWALTER talked about Carlos CARRASCO (we think). The Yankees lost to the Orioles 3-1. Aaron Boone was ejected again last night for arguing balls and strikes. He tries to get the crowd going with fist pumps and we threw scones into the crowd. Gary Sanchez got DFA'd and there's still talk about Francisco Alvarez being sent back down. Boomer said that's not happening. Vogelbach has been terrible and Jose Reyes is even tweeting about him. Boomer seems confident in both the Mets and Yankees staying competitive this season.  Boomer is eating a liverwurst sandwich. In this episode, Jon is joined by fill in co-host Benjy Ritholtz to recap a pretty disappointing week of Knicks basketball, although they did receive help during a 3-day break with MIA & BKN both losing. They look at the 3 games that were lost and discuss the inconsistencies of RJ Barrett & Mitchell Robinson, the temper tantrum from Julius Randle, the injury to Jalen Brunson and much more before taking a close look at the race for the 5th seed. Then, they take some time to observe what is going on with the Dallas Mavericks and the absurd scenario that the top-10 protected 1st round pick the Knicks currently own may not convey this season. Finally, they each give out their game ball, offer a proper tribute to the late great Willis Reed, put 2 players in detention and make predictions for the upcoming week!
