Today’s guest, Gary Saarenvirta, has been thinking deeply about AI long before the current hype. Having worked in the AI space for over 25 years, Gary was shocked at how little math and science was used in big business, and founded Daisy Intelligence to fill this glaring gap. Daisy is a SaaS AI-powered platform that helps retailers and insurers achieve higher profits by helping them make smarter operating decisions. In this episode, Gary sheds light on some of Daisy’s product offerings and the specific ways they increase profitability. As someone with an engineering background, Gary always focused on the technical side of things, but with the growth of the business, he has become increasingly aware of the value of people and culture. We talk about various ways that Daisy looks after their team, including flexible remote working options during COVID and mentoring programs. Gary himself has seen the value of having a coach, and he shares how this has helped him grow as a leader. Along with this, we discuss why Daisy’s technology is uniquely differentiated and how they use optimal control thinking to ensure their software stands out. Gary believes that by making businesses more efficient, through autonomous enterprise, it will not only reduce product costs but decrease the cost of living generally. Description: Gary is a recruiting and hiring consultant. He has trained and led high-performance recruiting teams that have made well over 10,000 hires. He has seen the inside story of how recruiting and hiring happens inside over 300 companies from Fortune 100 companies to boutique start-ups. Gary’s industry background includes software, IT, eCommerce, banking, public sector, semiconductor, engineering, manufacturing, sales, marketing, and environmental companies. His experience spans all levels including C-level executives, senior management, technical leadership, and high-performance professionals as well as support staff and laborers. Gary was originally on the podcast in episode 58. You can listen to it here. Gary has been involved in HireFactors for about 2 years. Many people have varied and eclectic stories. What Gary has found is that their resume and career stories look and sound like their career -scattered and varied. The hiring manager is looking for someone who has been doing similar kinds of things to the job description and is moving right along in their career with increasing levels of responsibility, because that is the easy hire. If they cannot make sense of your career trajectory then you will not get hired. You need to make your resume and career story portray a clear message. A software company was looking for a software tester related to dispensing pharmaceuticals. This is highly regulated and they needed someone to test the user interface, which is very routine and monotonous. Gary found someone who had been working in manufacturing - specifically testing related to fighter aircraft. This was testing torque on bolts and welds. He had to do this day in and day out and fill out very complex forms. The hiring manager immediately kicked the resume back. Gary explained that this person had been performing similar tasks as the position they wanted to fill, had tremendous attention to detail and would not get burned out. If this person had applied directly to this position with no one who was able to translate their skills, there is no way this person would have even gotten an interview. Today's Flash Back Friday comes from Episode 937, originally published in January 2018. Jason Hartman starts off today's episode discussing the amazing effect of inflation on assets in all markets. Then he turns his attention toward the upcoming Meet the Masters of Income Property event and gives a little taste of what he'll be discussing (hint: core beliefs investors need to have), as well as why there will be a whole host of Local Market Specialists at the event. Then Jason goes into the first part of his client case study with Gary & Sue Pinkerton. The two give Jason a lot of background on why they're investing in real estate, why they continued investing even when their initial property went horribly awry, the way (and reason) they went about their mortgage sequencing, and how they picked the markets they're currently in. Part 2 will be aired tomorrow. Key Takeaways: Jason Intro: [3:26] Apple's new code release for their old Lisa computer technology, which would have been a $24,700 desktop today, which shows the power of inflation [6:26] Jason will be discussing the core beliefs that we all need to have as investors at Meet the Masters [8:26] What Gary fails to mention at the start of his client case study Gary & Sue Pinkerton Client Case Study: [17:15] Gary & Sue's first property did NOT start off well [22:05] It's crucial to listen to your wife's intuition [25:57] How Gary & Sue decided to split up their mortgages and why [29:06] Why Gary & Sue picked the markets they're in today Websites: www.JasonHartman.com/Properties
Click on the link below to discover the number 1 tip to making money online. What do you think it is? Do you agree with it? http://www.trustthelink.com/ Here is the link to Display Purposes. https://displaypurposes.com/ Hey, today I want to talk about Bandcamp, what it is and should you sign up for your affiliate business, the fees involved and how it can help you. Bandcamp is an online music company that was founded in my home town of Oakland CA. I grew right next to Oakland in Castro Valley and Alameda. I know what you might be thinking if it's a music company why would you sign up for it if you are an affiliate marketer? By now, you probably now I'm a lazy affiliate marketer and I want to take one peace of content and stick that thing everywhere. Anchor.FM is a free podcasting platform that I've gotten a lot of success from and Bandcamp allows you to upload your Podcast to as well. Plus it carries the ultimate price of being free. Soundcloud is another podcasting platform, but it's not really free. How can this help you make money? You can create a podcast on a certain topic when people find it and listen to it you then can mention a website and if they go to and buy something, you are going to get paid. It's another way to market your business. What I usually do is write a short article, that goes after a keyword that gets lots of traffic, but not a lot of competition. Then I will create a video based on that article. Then I will use a program called Any Video Converter to take the sound from the video into an MP3 file and upload it to Anchor.Fm. Bandcamp doesn't take an MP3 file, so you have to use something else like WAVE. Bandcamp is free from Artists and the company makes their money from revenue sharing on a sale, which is 15% for digital and 10% for merch. There is a pro version for artists which is $10 a month and that just gives you more perks such as more stats, targeted messages, batch uploads and more. You can charge for your podcast, but I don't think that is a good idea. I'm using the podcast, article, video and I even create e-books that I give away for free to build a relationship to get someone on my optin page. The optin page captures their email address where you can continue to build a relationship with someone. Remember, people don't usually buy the first time. I'll compare it to Gary Vee's business model who is one of the most successful internet marketers. What Gary does is create all kinds of free content and then when he writes a book he can charge for it, because most people already know who he is. With me, what I'll do is write an ebook, or podcast, video give it away for free and then send use that content to send someone to an offer. I hope that makes sense. Another tip when it comes to album art and I got this from an ebook seller who is very successful when ever you can put a picture of your face on the cover. He says it helps sale his ebooks and I believe that because we gravitate towards faces, just look at Facebook. If you have a picture of an egg like in Twitter, people think it's bullshit. Another tip for you is on all your social media accounts you could consider using the same picture and this brands you. When someone sees the picture they automatically recognize you. The last tip I have for you when using Bandcamp is it’s not always the best-selling album that pops up in the search, but rather the album that is the best selling within the proper tags. To help you with tags I use an app called Display purposes. You can put in one keyword and it gives you 30 other keywords, just like it.
Gary Randle has spent his life serving God. In 1989 Gary Randle and Noble Crawford co-founded Hope Farm. Hope Farm is a leadership program guiding at-risk boys to become Christ-centered men of integrity that will be leaders in their families, churches, communities and the nation. Gary’s wife Marilyn best shared with me the essence of her husband & this wonderful man of God:“To know Gary Randle is an experience and not an event. What Gary has done doesn’t accurately describe who he is. He is complicated. He has many Gary-isms. He is a thinker, dreamer, and always imagines more. He is not scared of a “no” but sees “no” as an open door and an opportunity for a kingdom “yes” He is a visionary.”To see photos of Gary and to learn more about his ministries, please visit our website at https://www.wonderfultotell.com/episodes/2019/5/11/gary-randle-god-dont-waste-nothin

Henry (billionaire fund manager, owner of Boston Red Sox) and Richard Dennis (incubated the famous Turtle traders). Gary has been a guest on many other well-known podcasts, including Michael Covel’s and Meb Faber’s shows. On their shows, they get into the weeds on Gary’s Dual Momentum system – why it works better than simple buy-and-hold, why combining absolute and relative strength momentum create great synergy and a few other related topics. I didn’t want to recreate their episodes, so I decided to ask Gary a few additional questions and talk about some non-technical things. Some of our topics include: 1) Why Gary prefers momentum to other investing styles 2) How momentum investing helps you avoid that one debilatating, 2008-esque, loss 3) Gary’s experience investing with Paul Tudor Jones, John W. Henry and Richard Dennis 4) What Gary learned from these legendary managers 5) What Gary looks for when he invests with a manager Check out the links below to learn more about Gary, his investing system and it’s performance and on momentum investing, in general. My guest on today's podcast - Gary Taubes - just wrote a groundbreaking, eye-opening exposé entitled "" that makes the convincing case that sugar is the tobacco of the new millennium: backed by powerful lobbies, entrenched in our lives, and making us very sick. Among Americans, diabetes is more prevalent today than ever; obesity is at epidemic proportions; nearly 10% of children are thought to have nonalcoholic fatty liver disease. And Gary believes sugar is at the root of these, and other, critical society-wide, health-related problems. In the book, he delves into Americans' history with sugar: its uses as a preservative, as an additive in cigarettes, the contemporary overuse of high-fructose corn syrup. He explains what research has shown about our addiction to sweets. He clarifies the arguments against sugar, corrects misconceptions about the relationship between sugar and weight loss; and provides the perspective necessary to make informed decisions about sugar as individuals and as a society. is cofounder and senior scientific advisor of the Nutrition Science Initiative (NuSI). He's an award-winning science and health journalist, the author of The Case Against Sugar, Why We Get Fat and Good Calories, Bad Calories, and a former staff writer for Discover and correspondent for the journal Science. His writing has also appeared in The New York Times Magazine, The Atlantic, and Esquire, and has been included in numerous Best of anthologies, including The Best of the Best American Science Writing (2010). He has received three Science in Society Journalism Awards from the National Association of Science Writers. He is also the recipient of a Robert Wood Johnson Foundation Investigator Award in Health Policy Research. He lives in Oakland, California. During our discussion, you'll discover: -The difference between glucose and fructose, and how is that related to sucrose...[7:35] -Why the fructose we eat now is different than the fructose we find in nature...[14:20] -How German researchers discovered sugar to be just as as effective as "crack cocaine"...[21:10] -The fascinating marriage of tobacco and sugar, and why sugar is in cigarettes...[27:50] -How "metabolic imprinting" causes a baby's pancreatic cells to become dysfunctional...[33:35] -Why salt may not be the cause for hypertension, but sugar may...[44:00] -The relationship between sugar, gout and uric acid, and why gout and uric acid may not just be protein related...[47:10 & 57:00] -Why different people have different blood sugar responses to sugar...[49:20] -What Gary thinks of the fact that he's been called out on the fact that the NuSci metabolic ward research found no insulin-obesity link, and whether it's calories, not macronutrients, that are most important...[65:00] -And much more! [51:00] The four stations of implementing new lessons by Gary Smith No target: When implementing a new technique, start by getting a feel of the new positions and forget about the target. You can call this "The Technical Station." Where you are introducing changes. Be open to change and embrace it. Look for a positive attitude to change. No Target but further distance: Start playing around with different flights or different clubs, have fun and be creative. Aim at Target: Start to hit towards specific targets. Flags on the driving range or yardage markers. Now you are embracing what that new technique may look like in a competitive situation. Aim at the target with consequence/ under pressure: Make it real. How many can you do out of 10? Putt money on it or do 100 push ups. You will see pretty quickly what you would be like in course situation with a card in your hands. kickstart that the giant book retailer needed. And what about Hoover’s? Not the vacuum cleaner, but the company that all good salespeople used back in the day. That’s also something that today’s guest was behind. So who is this amazing guest? None other than Gary Hoover, author, speaker, business leader extraordinaire, lifetime learner, book lover with a massive library of more than 50,000 books, educator of entrepreneurs and people of all ages, and master of retail operations!! Whew… that was a mouthful, and that doesn’t even touch everything Gary has done in his life nor continues to do. Gary’s path was a bit unexpected for his family and peers, because he started out in a General Motors manufacturing town. Or maybe that’s what put him on his path to success, because he always wondered how the heck the decision-makers made their decisions. He asked his teachers, his family and other people in town, and no one seemed to know. Then he spotted Fortune magazine on a newsstand and his fate was sealed. In 7th grade he had his own subscription to that magazine! What Gary always found interesting about big, successful businesses is their leadership characteristics and how all the various decisions are made. But his curiosity doesn’t stop there… nor do his actions. Today, Gary helps small businesses and students learn how to make a great entrepreneurial business work really well. Gary believes in “case studies,” otherwise known as all the business magazines available to us today. He says we can all learn a lot by reading biographies of successful individuals of the world. You’ll learn that most start out as average human beings and flaws and weaknesses; they also have tremendous drive and don’t give up easily if at all. If you want an interesting new look at education, politics, what needs to change in our world and how to do amazing things with your new business idea, this is the episode for you. Learn more.
