Age diversity and cross-generational synergy can transform an organization. Most of us know age diversity matters in the workplace. But according to UCLA's Bob McCann, we're thinking about it all wrong: it's not just about having different generations present — it's about creating meaningful connections between them.As director of UCLA's Leadership Communication Program and founder of the McCann Group, McCann has spent years researching intergenerational workplace dynamics. With four to six generations now working side by side, he says there's never been a better time to create synergies between the old and the young."There's a tremendous opportunity for meeting and interacting with people who are different than you, for increasing a variety of potential outcomes in business in a positive way, if we can maximize our intergenerational engagement," he says. His research reveals that while many organizations focus on gender and ethnic diversity, age diversity often gets overlooked in DEI initiatives — despite its crucial role in workplace success. In this episode of Think Fast, Talk Smart, McCann joins Matt Abrahams to discuss how organizations can move beyond superficial age diversity to create meaningful cross-generational connections. From reverse mentoring programs to shadow boards, they explore practical ways leaders can harness the power of generational difference to drive innovation and collaboration.Episode Reference Links:Bob McCannEp.67 What Is Normal? Billionaire lifestyle with Emmitt Muckles - Conversations with conscious entrepreneurs, solopreneurs and life changers

Ginny Scales Medeiros [caption id="attachment_2590" align="alignleft" width="292"] Ginny Scales-Medeiros What is Norman (W.I.N)[/caption]   The Billionaire Lifestyle is about living it's about living life.  Some of us on this planet come into the world with all the resources we will ever need for success.  On the opposite side of that coin are those who are born with limited access to the basic resources succeed.  Ginny Scales-Medeiros’ had limited access to resources which was no deterrent for her success. She is a born survivor and person who thrives. Stating during our podcast interview, it was a kind of blessing having her parents because she did not know what not to do. She had raised with no boundaries or limitations.  With the perspective of no boundaries, Ginny discovered that the sky is the limit and it is all up to us as individuals to create our own destiny. Not Domesticated but Thriving When you have something that's in alignment with your authenticity …….. somebody could look at my life and go you didn't have any parenting. I like to say I wasn't domesticated, which means that I didn't get,  you can't do this, you can't that. You have a teacher preaching “I'm a teacher you have got to do this, and this is the only way you can do that. I didn't get any of that Jenny Scales-Medeiros (W.I.N) What is Normal on Amazon Real women do sell cards From the Interview: I finished only the ninth grade I was on my own at 15. I lived way out in the middle of nowhere. Where we lived there were a thousand acres and our little trailer. Our house/trailer was eventually turned into a chicken coop later. My parents were teenage High School dropouts I moved out on my own at 15. Ginny felt like I was better off raising myself and I had a natural god-given talent and that was selling. The Kitten Lesson I actually started by finding homes for the kittens that were dropped off in abandoned fields near my home. I just felt like that it was my responsibility to find them (the kittens) homes and I remember taking them and walking 3 miles down the street to the store to get rid of the kittens. In order to actually find them(the kittens) homes, my initial approach was speaking to the parents and they would just say no, no, no and walk by. Then I realized if I talk to the child or children of the parents and showed them the kitten, then the child would sell the parents. The Evolution of Ginny She really began polishing her sales ability, so when Ginny moved out at 15, she was not old enough to sell cars but got in the Auto industry at 18.  She states, "I sold the car my first day and every day for a month making top salesperson 6 years in a row". I made the headline of the newspaper where the headline read ”real men may not eat Quiche but real women do sell cards”   Ginny's bio: Raised in upstate New York she resides in the San Francisco North Bay. Ginny is an entrepreneur with multiple patent's/trademarks. Appearing on NBC, CBS, FOX, news and written about in many National magazines. A record-breaking salesperson in the auto industry, making front page news. Speaker and Pioneer for 100% Electric Transportation, landing in a current Documentary about electric autos and co-author of “what is the Electric car?” along with other celebrities like Jay Leno. Ginny's first novel "What Is Normal?" made the top 40 Most inspirational 2012 via Gladys. Scales-Medeiros has been on Radio and TV talking about her book. Recently on ABC morning show "Believe in Yourself" * Currently Ginny's focus is on landing a movie deal for the Screenplay "WIN" based on her novel "What Is Normal?
