Guest - David Wright https://richmond.herggroup.com/agents/154830-David-Wright/ https://share.personalcapital.com/x/6OCyEA Pain vs pleasure is something we learn about in sales yet when it comes to the topic of money it is the root of it 100% When I start to correct and work on things that are painful, I notice that I then get started in the right direction and then self sabotage ourselves. It is just me? I noticed I self sabotage myself when it comes to money In order to eliminate self money sabotage, I am learning that I must change how I look at money. Reprogram or recondition your brain around money Condition ourselves on what money is, our mind is like a muscle, just like other muscles I didn’t grow up wealthy. A quick story. I promise they will be quick My mom working at RCA factory made records ( I was an 80’s kid) and my dad worked in construction. I had a good childhood. It was not lavish or over the top. I would say on the lower end of middle class. I went to college and I had to work to pay for college so I decided to work for Macy’s. Kim said interview for Nordstrom - I thought. I can’t do that. I don’t have that kind of money. They would see right thru me. I got the job worked form then, got promoted and was one of the youngest managers in the company, at the time. Money mindset for me: More money may lead to more pain. What? People will think I am greedy. People may think I am more important than they are. Creates a divide among my friends or family. I just want to feel normal in my friends or family and blend in. Abundance of money is unknown, I am scared of the unknown. Shift in my money mindset: I am already wealthy. Free myself the illusion of that I am already wealthy - wealth is not just money. Leverage, someone else's back or effort. Like attracts like. It is ok to better myself and my family with more money. Already intelligent, so do not become smarter. I am a good husband but do I not work to be a better husband? So from about 18 yrs old till a few years ago, I honestly thought if I earned more money, my beliefs around money would change. I can tell you I was wrong. Working harder is not the answer. I have worked to make $11,000 in one year and I have also made $11,000 in one day. Again not to impress you. It's my perspective of my mindset around money. What do you associate with money? Positive words: Freedom, time with loved ones, less stress, security, peace of mind, less bills Negative words or phrases: What were you taught about money growing up? Money is the root of all evil, money is not everything. Money doesn't grow on trees, we can't afford it. It costs to much. PODCAST MINDSET MONDAY QUOTE: Money is only a tool. It will take you wherever you wish, but it will not replace you as the driver - AYN RAND
Brian Moynihan was channeling his inner Dr. Cocteau last week when he announced at a conference that eventually he would like a "cashless society". What happened after those comments were made was simply astounding. Crypto advocates saw it as BofA coming to their side, and other news sources mentioned that cash is still king in a lot of places. But did he really mean what he said? I think so, but not in the way you think. He wants us all to be Swedes... What? People think he meant crypto, but he really meant... your kids piggy bank? Machines that shake pieces of paper to eliminate people shaking paper deposits? Surge pricing for illicit purchases or late night purchases? Declining what BofA THINKS you don't need? He who has the controls of Cashless Society can make the decisions. Your money is at stake, you should listen to this somewhat humorous perspective from someone who used to get bonuses for making you cashless! Be well and don't violate the verbal morality statute! Zach Barnes, Owner of Great Flood Brewing Co, comes on the show and shares the story of Great Flood's rise from idea to a brewery to canning and distribution. Ever wanted to learn how a couple young guys could start a successful brewery? This is the story of how Great Flood Brewing Co got started. Great Flood Brewing Co: Zach tells us how brewers decide which beers should go into cans, and gives us a teaser for future Great Flood beers. We learn the guys' biggest hurdle to actually opening a brewery. While some people might think of opening a brewery as a fun hobby, these guys took a look at the market beforehand and made sure there was a need for their product before starting the business. They made sure success was not an accident. The original plan was for Zach to be a silent partner but immediately had to come on board full-time after Great Flood ran out of beer opening weekend. To differentiate their business, they decided to open a tap room and avoided the high overhead and hassle of running a full-service kitchen. How did they come up with the name Great Flood? What were the first two years like? How did the guys recover from a decline in sales after the huge opening weekend? Zach explains how they have kept to their original business plan and used it to help them make their decisions. He also discusses the differences between reality and the expectations of the original business plan. He also tells us the unglamorous side of operating a brewery and tap room, and the strain starting a business puts on relationships. How does Great Flood differentiate the tap room and their cans from their competitors? One of the coolest ways was creating an exclusive club for early supporters (and continuing to give them shoutouts on cans). We learn the difficulties transitioning from homebrewer to owning a brewery, and also find out other brewers helped Great Flood with the transition. We also learn the best parts of opening and running the brewery. Zach shares his advice to somebody thinking of opening a brewery. Last call questions and answers: Best career advice: "You can't spend your way into making money." What advice would your 60-year-old self give you today? Spend more time with your friends and family. Best thing spent money on the past 6 months: His new puppy, a Bernese Mountain Dog What media do you recommend: Anything by Wendell Berry, but specifically Hannah Coulter and What People are For? Favorite thing to drink (besides Great Flood): Tequila Special shoutouts and show notes: Against the Grain The New Albanian Brewing Company Bluegrass Brewing Company Apocalypse Brew Works Be sure to learn more about Zach and Great Flood by visiting their website at greatfloodbrewing.com. What's upset, distressed and can't be seen?? RIX!! lol R: "Dude, I was standing at the end of my driveway so you wouldn't have to pull in" V: "Dude, you're wearing all black and it's completely dark out". R: "And why's the volume all the way up!?!? My mom is SLEEPING!!!" V: "The volume's perfectly fine. Stop turning it down" R: "SERIOUSLY!? Sound carries. I would know. It's my house." V: "Well, the good news is we're not in front of your house anymore..." In today's episode we learn why Rix's brain was turned upside down and inside out when Victor picked him up, but he can't have all the attention, so Victor briefly discusses the audition he had right before taping today's episode. What's it like getting started? How do you get an agent? What? People in that industry will try and take advantage of you? Remember that time Victor and Rix had a YouTube channel and it was really fun until the three of them (and Neil) would get upset and stressed out over trivial matters? Lol. We do. Listen as the two shit on smaller YouTube channels, including themselves and how they have so much more fun and excitement for podcasts. And the mystery topic of the day is... you'll have to listen to find out. Hint: It inolves Victor standing his ground and another person getting upset that he can't be controlled. 31 31 31 31 31 31 31 31 31 - Episode 31 - We hope you... ENJOY!

Thanks to your support, Priority One Podcast has been nominated for Best Produced and Gaming podcast in the 10th Annual People's Choice Podcast Awards…. “People's Choice” are important words. What “People's Choice” means is that you believe in what Priority One Podcast produces from week to week. It means you recognize the hard work that we put in as volunteers! It means that without you -- none of this would be possible. But, we still need you, Admirals! The campaign has just begun! Between now and March 24th, we need for you to visit www.podcastawards.com and VOTE for Priority One Podcast in the Best Produced and Gaming categories! We need for you to do this once a day -- every day -- until March 24th. We need you to get your friends & fleetmates to do it too! Priority One Podcast is the only Star Trek-related podcast listed this year -- so we need your support to bring this one home in the name of Trekkies and Trekkers everywhere!! So remember - visit www.podcastawards.com once a day, every day between now and March 24 and vote for Priority One Podcast in the Best Produced and Gaming categories. Remember to re-tweet, share, and invite your friends, too! There is no greater accolade than knowing that you recognize us for the work we do. Thank you, Admirals! Sincerely, CookieCupcakes // Chief Medical Officer - U.S.S. Priōritās # # End Transmission BE SURE TO VISIT OUR YOUTUBE CHANNEL AND SUBSCRIBE TO THE PREMIER STAR TREK ONLINE PODCAST!
