In the final segment of the hour, Gio and Jerry wonder if Pete's home run ball will stay in the Mets Hall of Fame at Citi Field or at his home. A caller wants Jeremy Hefner fired. BT and Sal ripped into the broadcast calls for Pete Alonso's record-breaking home run, focusing on what they felt was a pre-meditated, scripted call from SNY's Gary Cohen. BT argued that the "on his own private iceberg" line was "corny," a sentiment that Sal, despite his affection for Cohen, seemed to agree with. The duo contrasted the TV call with the radio broadcast, praising Keith Hernandez's more organic and fiery reaction. They also dove into a historic Yankees call by John Sterling, and the awkward moment when his partner Charlie Steiner interjected, highlighting the difference between a great, unscripted call and one that feels manufactured.
Sal and BT dove into the world of iconic home run calls, prompted by a discussion of Gary Cohen's "on his own private iceberg" line for Pete Alonso's record-breaking home run. The conversation took a fiery turn when they brought in the legendary John Sterling, who revealed the shocking backstory behind the famous Aaron Boone walk-off home run call. Sterling recounted his frustration when his then-partner Charlie Steiner called the home run and then "jumped in" on his signature "Yankees win!" call, a move that Sterling claims Steiner admitted he "always wanted to do." The exchange shed light on the often-fierce, competitive world of sports broadcasting and the deep-seated rivalries that can exist behind the mic.
Unlock the secrets to explosive business growth with Gary Cohen of CCN. “Managing KPIs” distills complex metrics into simple, actionable steps. Learn how to track what matters—boost revenue, optimize profits, and scale your operations—all in just a few minutes. A must-watch for entrepreneurs serious about measurable success.
Every leader knows the rush of validation when someone brings you a problem and you solve it on the spot. But Gary Cohen, founder of CO2 Coaching and author of Just Ask Leadership, learned that this habit can limit your team's potential and make you the organizational bottleneck. While growing his company from a $4,000 investment to 2,200 employees, he and his business partner became overwhelmed by constant questions. The solution wasn't giving faster answers—it was becoming question-askers instead of answer-givers.In interviews with over 100 exceptional leaders – from Fortune 500 executives to four-star generals – Cohen discovered they all had a moment where they shifted from being “the answer person” to “the question person.” For General Jack Chain, a promotion made him realize his role had fundamentally changed. For ConAgra's Mike Harper, moving from engineering to R&D forced him to lead experts whose knowledge far exceeded his own. These shifts inspired frameworks like the GPS model (Goal-Position-Strategy) for focused conversations and the PEAK model, which guides leaders through four questioning styles – Professor, Innovator, Judge, and Director – to spark breakthroughs.Cohen's most powerful insight is that most team members already know the answers. They don't need you to solve their problems—they need you to help them uncover solutions themselves. When they do, ownership skyrockets, and so does performance. The path to multiplying your leadership impact starts with changing your identity from “the teller” to “the asker.” Everything else follows from that transformation.

Phil and Boomer shared anecdotes of mentioning each other in speeches, and then they discussed the Jets signing Justin Fields. Hour 4 Phil Simms discussed the Jets' likely offensive lineman pick at number seven in the NFL draft, noting Travis Hunter and Abdul Carter as his top two players, suggesting Hunter as a WR. Boomer predicted a Kirk Cousins trade, with Phil speculating on his destination. Phil mentioned the Steelers' apparent focus on Aaron Rodgers and suggested the Giants need seven wins for Brian Daboll to stay. Jerry's final update covered the Yankees' controversial Aaron Judge home run call, the Mets' sweep of the Cardinals with Juan Soto's positive fan reception, and Francisco Lindor's observation of increased fan attendance. Boomer had a message for Devils fans as the Moment of the Day. In the last segment, Phil highlighted other notable draft prospects.
Sam Rosen's 40 year career calling Rangers games came to an end last night. Lee Corso is also retiring from College Gameday. Gio thinks Howie Rose could be retiring in a few years as well. Gary Cohen is older than he looks. Gio thinks he looks younger than Boomer. We wondered if Boomer will be here when he's 70 (he just turned 64). Gio thinks he saw a guy on the street that might have passed.
Last night marked the end of Sam Rosen's 40-year career calling Rangers games, and Lee Corso is retiring from College Gameday. Gio speculated about Howie Rose's potential retirement and noted Gary Cohen looks younger than his age (and younger than Boomer). They pondered if Boomer would continue working until 70. Gio mentioned a possible deceased person sighting, while Jerry recounted a gunpoint robbery dream (which Gio experiences often). The topic of aggressive geese arose, with Al advising against harming them due to their protected status, even during an attack. Later, Gio questioned "GROK" about having a non-sports-fan producer, and Jerry asked ChatGPT about his dreams. More audio of Aaron Rodgers' negative experience with the Jets aired. Adam Schefter was pranked at the Masters with a fake NFL trade report (since phones weren't allowed). Deion Sanders claimed he never did ‘that' to himself. The Moment of the Day highlighted Gio's Eddie impression regarding Al & Jerry's low YouTube views. The show concluded with a discussion about baseball players' competitive pickleball games.
Hour 1 Today's show features Gio & Jerry filling in for Boomer. They discussed Aaron Rodgers' Pat McAfee Show appearance, where he detailed a brief, tense meeting with Jets coach Aaron Glenn and GM Darren Mougey, feeling Glenn was "rogue." Rodgers praised Brian Daboll. C-Lo then provided updates, first on his hiccups, and then audio of Rodgers discussing Glenn. In baseball news, Ben Rice went 4-for-4, Dave Sims called the game, Jazz Chisholm was ejected for arguing balls and strikes, and Aaron Boone disliked his dugout view in Tampa. The Mets beat the Cardinals with Mark Vientos hitting his first home run. Sam Rosen made his final career call for the Rangers. Finally, Kadarius Toney announced his NFL retirement to become a rapper. Hour 2 The Knicks-Pistons series starts tomorrow. Gio, who found the Knicks' regular season boring due to their dominance, predicts a Knicks win in six but questions their ability to compete with the Celtics, especially considering the Pistons' physicality. Fan engagement is high, particularly regarding Karl-Anthony Towns. A caller wonders if the city's excitement will be lower without the Rangers in the playoffs. Another believes Aaron Rodgers intentionally embarrassed the Jets. Later, after a discussion about martinis, audio of Rodgers' negative meeting with the Jets aired. In baseball, the Yankees beat the Rays (Jazz Chisholm ejected), and the Mets beat the Cardinals. Last night was Sam Rosen's final Rangers game. The hour ended with Gio questioning the Easter Bunny's association with eggs and the quality of his gifts compared to Santa, also sharing his dislike for jelly beans. Hour 3 Mark Vientos hit his first home run. Sal Licata's criticism of Juan Soto sparked debate, with Gio questioning why early-season criticism equates to "hating," especially given Soto's high salary implying less room for failure. Despite Soto's performance not meeting expectations, the Mets are winning, thanks to Alonso and strong pitching. The Mets plan to play Jeff McNeil in center field, a move Gio doesn't understand, and Jerry views McNeil's energy negatively. Baseball updates included Ben Rice's 4-for-4 game, Jazz Chisholm's ejection, and Aaron Boone's comments on the Rays changing dirt. The Mets also beat the Cardinals. Audio of Sal Licata's harsh criticism of Soto aired. The Knicks-Pistons series starts tomorrow. The hour concluded with a discussion about golfer Billy Horschel signing a woman's welt, Gio's confusion over women wanting boob autographs from celebrities, and an uncomfortable interview experience with former player John Randle due to differing opinions on his playing style. Hour 4 Last night marked the end of Sam Rosen's 40-year career calling Rangers games, and Lee Corso is retiring from College Gameday. Jerry starts with the sounds of the Yankees losing to the D-Backs and striking out a ton thanks to Zac Gallen. We heard Gary Cohen on the call as Pete Alonso hit a game tying 3-run HR in the 8th. Alonso is fired up for tomorrow's home opener. Shohei Ohtani hit a walk off HR on his bobblehead night. The Dodgers and Padres are both undefeated.
Gio heard something from an overnight caller that actually made him think. It involved Juan Soto not believing in Pete Alonso so he swung at a pitch he shouldn't have in the ninth inning in a clutch spot. Boomer was texting Ron Darling during the game, and Gio said Gary Cohen probably doesn't like that. Gio also wonders if Gary likes Boomer or not.
A late-night caller sparked Gio's contemplation about Juan Soto's ninth-inning strikeout, suggesting it stemmed from a lack of faith in Pete Alonso. Boomer's mid-game texts to Ron Darling drew Gio's curiosity about Gary Cohen's potential feelings. C-Lo's update highlighted Devin Williams's shaky Yankees debut, Dave Sims's subway commute, and BT and Sal's Aaron Boone interview, where they debated Judge's batting order. The focus returned to Soto's crucial at-bat and post-game comments, followed by Carlos Mendoza's analysis. A brief detour covered Texas Tech's Elite 8 appearance. Finally, Gio's upcoming bartending gig and new CBS Sports sneakers led to a discussion about baseball's "needle movers," with Boomer excluding Soto, while Gio strongly disagreed.
Hour 1 MLB's opening day was marred by app streaming issues, overshadowing Juan Soto's crucial ninth-inning strikeout for the Mets. Conversely, the Yankees enjoyed a smoother start with Austin Wells's early home run and a successful, albeit eventful, outing from Devin Williams. Off-air drama ensued as Boomer recounted a parking dispute with C-Mac, who later defended himself. C-Lo finally delivered his update, featuring Keith McPherson's hoarse post-game reaction to the Yankees and Evan Roberts's critique of Soto's performance on the Rico Brogna podcast. Hour 2 A late-night caller sparked Gio's contemplation about Juan Soto's ninth-inning strikeout, suggesting it stemmed from a lack of faith in Pete Alonso. Finally, Gio's upcoming bartending gig and new CBS Sports sneakers led to a discussion about baseball's "needle movers," with Boomer excluding Soto, while Gio strongly disagreed. Hour 3 Boomer's MLB "needle movers" list sparked heated debate, with callers criticizing the omission of Juan Soto and even Derek Jeter. Gio emphasized Soto's impact, citing increased Mets ticket sales. C-Lo's update featured Dave Sims's call of an Anthony Volpe home run, Devin Williams's composure, and Aaron Boone's in-game interview difficulties. The focus shifted back to Soto's crucial strikeout and Evan Roberts's post-game analysis. Gio then questioned the Jets and Giants' current "needle mover" status. The hour concluded with discussion of Fox canceling Derek Jeter's Pat McAfee interview, seemingly due to network rivalry, and a caller's inquiry about temporary "needle movers" like Jeremy Lin. Hour 4 The Knicks' playoff potential took center stage, with Boomer questioning their ability to compete against top teams like Boston. April's sports excitement was debated against October's, leading to a tangent on NFL kickoffs and comparisons of Shedeur Sanders to Dak Prescott. Deion Sanders's search for a team criticizing his son was mentioned, with Josina Anderson hinting at a "top 7 drafting team." C-Lo's final update featured Yankees highlights and Keith McPherson's hoarse post-game commentary, followed by Howie Rose's call of Soto's strikeout. Gio's CBS Sports sneaker display was highlighted as the Moment of the Day. The show concluded with a discussion of MLB app streaming issues and the cost of SNY.

The BBC Board of Governors is meeting Thursday to discuss the controversial BBC documentary “Gaza: How To Survive a War Zone.” The program has again come under scrutiny, with a new report that accuses the filmmakers of “whitewashing” references to terrorism, Jihad, Hamas and prejudice against Jews in the English translation of the original Arabic dialogue. The film was pulled from the BBC ‘s online streaming service last week after it was revealed that the documentary’s narrator was the son of a senior Hamas figure. Hour 1 Late last night the Mets came to an agreement with Juan Soto: 15 years, $765 million. We reacted to the contract and what the Yankees offered. Jerry is here for his first update of the day and starts with audio surrounding the Mets agreement with Juan Soto. Evan, Sal, Hoffman and Positive Tommy were doing a Rico Brogna podcast when news broke. Sal screamed then they all screamed. Actor Nick Turturro was pissed at Soto and Shaun Morash said he wanted to cry. The Jets lost to the Dolphins in OT as they let them go right down the field on the first possession of OT. The Giants lost after their game tying FG attempt was blocked. Even Bob Papa had to laugh while making the call. The Chiefs escaped with another last second FG win, beating the Chargers. A caller wonders what the return on investment needs to be in order for it to work out for the Mets. Howie Rose and Gary Cohen commented on how huge this is in Mets history. In the final segment of the hour, Yankees fans' reaction to the Juan Soto news is all over the place. Hour 3 On Friday night, Jon Heyman was with Keith McPherson on WFAN and things turned ugly and it was dissected on social media. We have the clip where it all went wrong. Gio thought the whole thing was funny. Gio analyzes what went down and why. Jerry returns for an update, but first Boomer said the Giants could be the first team in the history of the NFL to go 0-9 at home. Jerry starts with audio from SNL where he mocks the Mets. Sal was on SNY last night and called it the greatest day of his life, even when you include getting married and having his daughter. Actor Nick Turturro was not happy with Soto signing with the Mets. The Jets lost to the Dolphins in OT as they drove right down the field. In the final segment of the hour, Kevin ‘KFC' from Barstool calls in. He is a huge Mets fan who loves Yankees misery. Hour 4 The Giants lost again at home and someone flew a plane over the stadium with a message for John Mara to ‘fix this dumpster fire'. Boomer said if you want to get the Giants fan back, you have to bring Bill Belichick in. Gio said, to do that, the Giants will have to be in a position to draft a QB Belichick likes. Jerry returns for his final update of the day and starts with audio surrounding the Mets reaching an agreement with Juan Soto. Evan, Sal, Hof and Positive Tommy were taping a Rico Brogna podcast when the news broke. Actor Nick Turturro is angry at Soto for going to the Mets instead of the Yankees. Mike Francesa talked about the Mets outbidding the Yankees ‘when donkeys would fly'. Shaun Morash didn't think it was happening and a part of his Yankee fandom died. The Jets lost again, this time in OT to the Dolphins. Jerry has audio from the postgame. The Giants also lost again, this time to the Saints on a blocked FG that would have sent the game into OT. The Moment of The Day: Boomer has a strange reference about Gio's daughter when talking about Soto's contract. In the final segment of the show, the Mets have to keep getting guys just like the Dodgers did and continue to do. We played ‘guess the spread' for Week 15 in the NFL. The Ravens are favored by 14.5 over the Giants. Jets are a road favorite in Jacksonville by ...
