They Listened and Cracker Barrel Restored Its Logo After the Outrage, But Is It Too Late?Cracker Barrel thought modernization would save it. Instead, a $700 million redesign erased its iconic Old Timer logo and nearly destroyed customer trust. Outrage was swift, and Wall Street punished the gamble. After doubling down, the company finally reversed course, bringing the Old Timer back. But is it too late to repair the damage? In this episode of #GoRight with Peter Boykin, we delve into Cracker Barrel's “New Coke moment,” the bipartisan backlash it sparked, and what it reveals about nostalgia, heritage, and the American soul.https://rumble.com/v6yhmaa-they-listened-and-cracker-barrel-restored-its-logo-after-the-outrage-but-is.htmlhttps://youtu.be/d2v2SIMDlNwhttps://www.tiktok.com/t/ZT6WPVRBq/https://www.spreaker.com/episode/they-listened-and-cracker-barrel-restored-its-logo-after-outrage-but-is-it-too-late--67631765https://gorightnews.com/did-cracker-barrel-kill-its-soul-by-trading-nostalgia-for-cold-corporate-bland/#GoRight, #PeterBoykin, #GoRightNews, #CrackerBarrel, #TheyListened, #OldTimerReturns, #BrandBacklash, #NewCokeMoment, #CorporateBland, #SaveTradition, #CulturalHeritage, #NostalgiaPower, #RootsNotRelics, #Americana, #ProtectHeritage, #BlandKillsSoul, #StopCorporateBland, #WeThePeople, #AmericaFirst, #StandForTraditionBecome a supporter of this podcast: https://www.spreaker.com/podcast/goright-with-peter-boykin-gorightnews-com--3096608/support.

In this episode, I examine Cracker Barrel's rebrand disaster that dominated social media and the news last week. The company traded its nostalgic, country-store feel and iconic “Old Timer” logo for a modernized version that customers called bland, sterile, and soulless. The backlash was immediate and relentless: negative headlines, viral videos, and $143 million in lost market value. At first, Cracker Barrel dismissed critics as a “vocal minority” and insisted most people loved the changes. But late yesterday, they reversed course, scrapping the new logo and promising to bring back the Old Timer after finally acknowledging their customers' voices.I break down how Cracker Barrel mishandled its crisis, why their reversal is only a first step, and what lessons any business can learn about protecting its brand identity, listening early, and turning customer feedback into meaningful action.Timestamps: 00:00 Introduction and update on why this episode shifted focus01:10 Cracker Barrel's rebrand rollout and why customers felt betrayed 02:18 What effective crisis management should look like — listen, admit, connect, act, communicate 03:10 The costly fallout: stock down $143 million and daily negative headlines 03:40 How Cracker Barrel dismissed loyal customers as a “vocal minority” 04:08 Why the Old Timer logo mattered to the brand's identity and culture 05:22 Lessons from Coca-Cola's New Coke disaster and recovery 06:15 Takeaway #1: Listen early and acknowledge problems before backlash snowballs 06:45 Takeaway #2: Protect the distinctive qualities that make your brand irreplaceable 07:20 Takeaway #3: Turn feedback into action and communicate changes publicly 07:43 Why having a PR crisis plan in place is essential — insights from Pat Ford (episode 65) 09:07 How our PR firm helps companies build visibility, credibility, and growth strategiesKey Takeaways:Listen early and admit problems quickly. Waiting to acknowledge a crisis makes the damage worse. Cracker Barrel didn't publicly recognize customer frustration until millions in value were already lost. Early acknowledgment can stop the hemorrhaging before it escalates.Protect what makes your brand unique. Cracker Barrel's country-store aesthetic, rocking chairs, and Old Timer logo weren't just decorations, they were the emotional anchors of the brand. Diluting what sets you apart erodes loyalty and gives customers less reason to stay.Turn customer feedback into visible action. Bringing back the Old Timer logo was a good first step, but only because it showed loyal voices had an impact. Publicly turning feedback into change restores credibility and proves customer relationships matter.Have a crisis plan in place before you need it. Crises unfold in real time under high stress. As Pat Ford emphasized in episode 65, knowing who leads communications, how decisions flow, and what steps to take is the only way to manage effectively in a PR crisis that often feels like the “fog of war.”Rate, Review, & Follow on Apple Podcasts & SpotifyPlease consider rating and reviewing my show! #302. Going once, going twice, SOLD (for free) to whoever will come get it. Unless they can't. And no, I can't hold on to it for 2 days. You all know the drill. We get into a bit of online sales etiquette with more questions than answers. Also, a minivan with a missing door looks weird. And a good speakeasy might no longer be necessary, but it's still a cool experience. After the break, Kendall tries to offend most guys who aren't in their nineties and we share a bit about what we are streaming while Dillon gets into some gaming! This episode came off the hip, and we hope you enjoy it! We enjoyed hanging out. Until next time, be kind to each other. This segment discusses Cracker Barrel's recent logo change and a broader rebrand, arguing that the company is trying to appeal to a "woke" culture and alienating its core customer base. The hosts note the removal of the iconic "Old Timer" figure from the logo, which they interpret as an attempt to "edit out the white guy" to appease social justice movements. They connect this to a 2020 online campaign that criticized the restaurant for its "distinctly southern white" culture. The discussion also links this decision to similar corporate missteps, such as Target and Bud Light, suggesting that companies are choosing to prioritize political correctness over the demands of their customers and the market. The hosts conclude by asserting that this strategy will ultimately fail, as evidenced by the backlash from Cracker Barrel's loyal patrons, whom they describe as "normals" and "southerners."

Is Jaxson Dart's debut worth turning down tickets to Yankees Old Timer's Day
Da Frank jetzt 3 Wochen Urlaub hat, haben wir drei kürzere Folgen aufgenommen :-) damit es keine Pause gibt.
Or whatever they call it now. Suzyn Waldman was on with Brandon Tierney yesterday and said that Derek Jeter is missing Old Timer's Day because of a birthday party for his daughter. Boomer doesn't think it's a birthday party, but he thinks it is family related. He said he's been contacted by somebody letting him know the real reason. Gio said Jeter could have just come out and said it was family related, but instead he leaves it up for speculation.
Suzyn Waldman stated that Derek Jeter missed Old Timer's Day for his daughter's birthday, though Boomer suspects a different, family-related reason he's privy to. Gio suggested Jeter should have been direct. Jerry provided an update, preceded by Gio's potential concert plans. The Yankees lost to the Blue Jays with four errors; Cody Bellinger discussed a lost fly ball, Anthony Volpe suffered a bad strike call, and Boone was ejected. The Mets swept the Angels, with Alonso homering and Lindor hitting well. Brian Daboll confirmed Russell Wilson as the starter, and Joe Schoen discussed Jaxson Dart. Jerry compared Bill Parcells to Mike McDaniel. The segment concluded with details on the NFLPA Director's resignation, including his unusual parking spot request for O.J. Simpson.
Hour 1 The Mets swept the Angels, with Francisco Lindor ending his slump. The Yankees lost in Toronto, committing four errors. We discussed the trade deadline. Boomer wants an offensive outfielder for the Mets. Jerry's update highlighted the Yankees' errors, which Aaron Boone addressed. Gio suggested Aaron Boone lost Suzyn Waldman's support. We heard Lindor's RBI single. Aaron Glenn aims for the Super Bowl. John Harbaugh discussed visiting President Trump. The Browns have a 'poop looking helmet'. Finally, a caller asked Wichita State's volleyball coach his salary, relating to yesterday's show. Hour 2 Suzyn Waldman stated Derek Jeter missed Old Timer's Day for his daughter's birthday. Boomer suspects a family reason, not a birthday, claiming he knows the real reason. Gio criticized Jeter for not being upfront. Jerry's update followed, with Gio mentioning a potential Men At Work concert. The Blue Jays beat the Yankees, who committed four errors. Cody Bellinger discussed losing a fly ball, and Anthony Volpe's bad strike call led to Boone's ejection. The Mets swept the Angels, with Alonso homering and Lindor getting two hits and two RBIs. Brian Daboll confirmed Russell Wilson as starter, and Joe Schoen discussed Jaxson Dart learning. Jerry compared Bill Parcells to Mike McDaniel. The NFLPA Director resigned, with details including his request for OJ Simpson's parking spot. Hour 3 A caller to the show said prisons are like country clubs. Colin Cowherd speculated Arch Manning and Nick Saban will join the Browns or Saints, though Boomer joked about the Browns' "poop-like" new helmet. Jerry gave a hair PRP update. The show is going to Pebble Beach next month. The Yankees lost to Toronto (4 errors), while the Mets swept the Angels (Alonso HR, Lindor 2 RBI singles). Russell Wilson, Mike Tomlin, and JJ McCarthy discussed working with Malik Nabers, Aaron Rodgers, and being the Vikings' starter, respectively. Gio said life evens out, giving an example of winning a scratch-off then getting in a fender bender. They discussed Pebble Beach again. Hour 4 Aaron Glenn chose the Jets, extended Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner early. A caller fears ESPN buying NFL Network/Red Zone. Jerry reports Yankees lost (4 errors). Mets swept Angels (Lindor broke slump, Alonso homered). Lindor appreciates fan support. Fat Joe drinks 30-40 Diet Pepsis daily. Lance Stephenson said random people blow in his ear due to the LeBron incident. Justin Fields was carted off practice with a non-contact injury. Moment of the Day: Al & Eddie at Pebble Beach. Final segment discussed Fields' injury.
Boomer made news calling Derek Jeter 'elitist' for skipping Old Timer's Day. A caller dislikes knowing what WFAN hosts look like; Gio wonders about callers' appearances, noting Tracy in Atlantic Highlands looked different. Jerry's update features C-Mac singing 'War Pigs' and Fall Out Boy. Yankees beat Blue Jays; hear from Jazz and Bellinger. Suzyn Waldman struggles with 'Cam Schlittler.' Jets camp begins; hear from Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner. Gio ponders fantasy draft's second pick after Saquon Barkley. Caleb Williams has lofty goals. Long Island faces a rabies threat; callers share stories of rabies treatment.
Hour 1 We opened remembering Ozzy Osbourne, who passed yesterday, discussing his mysterious pre-reality TV career and the unlikelihood of future mysterious figures due to social media. Jerry's first update began with Chris McMonigle's 'War Pigs' tribute. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays on a Ben Rice homer after losing a lead. Aaron Boone and Jomboy media debated player reactions to media during slumps. Nimmo's single secured a Mets win over the Angels. Last night was SNY's kidcaster night. Garrett Wilson and Sauce Gardner discussed new deals, while Micah Parsons explained his practice attendance despite contract issues. We concluded by highlighting Andrew Thomas and Dexter Lawrence as essential Giants. Hour 2 Boomer called Derek Jeter "elitist" for missing Old Timer's Day. A caller prefers not knowing what WFAN hosts look like, while Gio wonders what callers look like. Jerry's update included C-Mac singing "War Pigs" and from the Carton & Roberts era. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays; Jazz and Bellinger commented. Suzyn Waldman struggled with "Cam Schlittler." Jets camp started, with comments from Quinnen Williams and Sauce Gardner. Gio pondered fantasy draft order after Saquon Barkley, and Caleb Williams has high goals. The hour ended with a Long Island rabies threat, leading to calls about rabies treatment experiences. Hour 3 Le'Veon Bell's $100K challenge (staying home for 14 days) sparked a discussion. Jerry reported the Jets signed a Samuel Jackson, leading to talk about regular people sharing famous names. The Yankees beat the Blue Jays with a ninth-inning HR by Ben Rice, and Aaron Boone was fired up on Jomboy. The Mets beat the Angels with a Francisco Alvarez homer. A NJ little leaguer was ejected/suspended for a bat flip. Finally, the Hawk Tuah girl sold her X account for $325K. Hour 4 Boomer joined Kay Adams to discuss NFL topics. WFAN's all-quarter-century basketball team was revealed; Gio wants a "worst of" version. Jerry's final update: Ben Rice's go-ahead homer gave the Yankees the lead, Mets beat Angels (Nimmo go-ahead hit, Alvarez homer), and SNY had kid caster night. Mike Vrabel is annoyed by repetitive media questions. Micah Parsons discussed his Cowboys contract. Moment of the Day: Gio once dated a lesbian. The show's final segment explored Wichita State coaches' salaries.
The Yankees are having their first Old Timer's Day since 2019 and they are celebrating the 2000 World Series team. Derek Jeter will not be participating, saying he doesn't want the fans to see him hit again at this age. That's fine, but he should at least be there as he was the Captain. Boomer thinks it's a little bit insulting. Boomer said it feels ‘elitist to me'.
Yankees' Old Timer's Day, celebrating the 2000 World Series team, will be without Derek Jeter. Jeter opted out, not wanting fans to see him hit at his age. Boomer finds this insulting and elitist, arguing that as Captain, he should at least attend. Jerry's update was sidetracked by a discussion with Steve the engineer about radio station wiring and Mike Francesa. The hour's final segment highlighted an $8K drink with a diamond bracelet in Sag Harbor.
