I talked with Patrick Debois about challenges of introducing Generative AI and how can AI Platform Engineering help.Platform Engineering is the pattern that successful organizations use to efficiently scale the approach, the technology, and ways of working. Yesterday, it was about building abstractions to deploy and manage apps on Kubernetes. Today, it is also about providing access to approved LLM models, RAG mechanisms, vector databases, caching, model versioning, and connectors to legacy data sources, hence AI Platform Engineering.✨ Please leave a review on your favorite podcast platform, your feedback is gold. ✨Did you know there is a 0800-DEVOPS newsletter? Although taken a year ago, this is still one of my favorite interviews. Not to mention it was my first non-written interview – hence the confusion and a questionable mic quality – but talking to Tanya was great!Tanya Janca is a super kind person bringing a security focus to DevOps movement. After working for the government and Microsoft, Tanya is now focused on consulting and education. I talked with Tanya about security in the cloud and how does one go about making teams more sensible to security issues.PS. Project to product with Mik Kersten

I've heard rants before (mostly from my friend Davor Čengija) how projects suck and how they result in The Inverse Boy Scout Rule – they leave the product in worse condition than they found it in.But it wasn't until I heard Mik Kersten‘s talk on DOES 2020 and read his book that I really understood the reasoning behind it. Mik has a lot of experience in delivering software as well as in leadership positions. Precisely this experience made him realize that there's something wrong with the way we deliver software. Local optimizations and the lack of end-to-end value stream visibility caused many successful organizations to go under. Pair that with a traditional (but still present) mindset that IT is a cost center, and you are truly set for a disaster in today's economy.I spoke with Mik about problems in software delivery today and the disconnect between the Business and the IT that many organizations experience.Subscribe to 0800-DEVOPS newsletter here.Show notes:This interview is featured in 0800-DEVOPS #18 - Mik Kersten, Project to Product and a handful of good virtual conferences.
