The Evolving for the Next Billion by GGV Capital podcast is an essential listen for investors, entrepreneurs, and those aspiring to be one in the future. With its global insights that can't be found anywhere else, this podcast is truly an incredible resource. I have personally grown a lot over the past two years of listening to this podcast and am excited to use the knowledge gained to build a meaningful career in the global space.
One of the best aspects of this podcast is Hans' experience as an investor and his insightful discussions about trending fields. His successful investing experience and deep understanding of the industry are incredibly helpful in resolving some of my own puzzles. Additionally, GGV Capital's expertise in Asia adds depth and valuable discussions about Asian startups and markets to each episode. This podcast truly provides a wealth of knowledge for entrepreneurs and investors.
However, there are a few minor drawbacks to this podcast. Sometimes, Hans' interview style can be slightly distracting with frequent interruptions and repetitive interjections. While his enthusiasm is admirable, it would be beneficial for him to let the speakers speak without interruption and treat the show more like a professional production rather than a casual conversation.
In conclusion, The Evolving for the Next Billion by GGV Capital podcast is a must-listen for anyone interested in technology innovation and entrepreneurship. The breadth of topics covered, along with the authentic human stories shared by leaders in the field, make this podcast both informative and inspiring. Despite some minor flaws in interview style, this podcast offers valuable insights into building thriving organizations amidst rapidly changing technological landscapes. Overall, I highly recommend listening to this podcast and subscribing for weekly content that will help you navigate the evolving world of business and technology.

Today's episode was recorded back in 2019, way before Affirm became a 27 billion dollar public company, and the BNPL (that is buy now pay later) won over young consumers across the world. Before Affirm, Max was known as the co-founder of PayPal, where he designed the company's system to detect fraud. A "fintech nerd", as he called himself and serial entrepreneur, Max shared how Affirm was a product of his guiding principle in life, and how his wife was the voice of reason when defining what was fun for him. This episode is co-hosted by GGV managing partner Glenn Soloman and first appeared on Glenn's podcast Founder Real Talk.
