On today's special episode of the Healthy is Hot Podcast - presented by @clarinscanada, catch up with Coach Chloe (aka @thechloewilde)! In this episode, Chloe reflects on the journey of how Healthy is Hot came to be, all the way through today and her newest project: the HIH App! Healthy is Hot all started when Chloe experienced a bad burnout while in University and needed to try something different from the path she initially had planned for. She was struggling and decided to take some time off. But in 2013, Chloe entered and won the MuchMusic VJ Search. Although this was an exciting time, she was still suffering from the effects from burnout. This is when the notion of Healthy is Hot came to be. Chloe was on a mission to figure out what it truly means to be healthy. And guess what??? It's not just about eating salads and working out. It's so much more than that. Health is unique and it changes as we move through life. We are constantly evolving, and so our relationship with physical health, mental health, and community health should be evolving as well. The goal of HIH is to help people understand that and learn to manage their personal health in the best way for them. This is what HIH's newest project, the HIH App, is designed to do! Learn more about the HIH App and how it can work for you on today's episode. Periods should NOT be painful! Today on the Healthy is Hot Podcast - presented by @clarinscanada, @thechloewilde speaks with Lux Perry - @princeofperiods, about periods and how painful periods that interfere with your daily life could be a sign that something more is going on! @princeofperiods journey with endometriosis began when they were only 9 years old. They suffered from abdominal pain, which only escalated after they got their period. They had a difficult time in school, in sports, and in work, as many people would dismiss their suffering as simply ‘period pain.' It took them 15 years (and layers upon layers of medication) to convince a doctor that it was more than that. After finally doing a laparoscopy, they were diagnosed with endometriosis - a painful disease where tissue similar to the lining of the uterus is found in other parts of the body, which can cause painful lesions, cysts and other health problems. With firsthand experience on how much potential is stifled by period pain, Lux Perry is dedicated to making period wellness easy for others through their brand @somedays, which is focused on period relief that is a pleasure to use.
